Safe Operation

1. General requirements for labor protection

1.1. General safety requirements are set out in the Instruction "General safety requirements for professions and types of work in furniture production".

1.2. Hazardous production factors: moving machines and mechanisms, moving parts of production equipment; moving products, blanks, materials.

Sources of factors: rotating parts of the machine, workpiece feed mechanisms, sharp ends of the wire.

Effect of factors: possible contact of the worker’s hands with rotating parts of the machine, workpiece feeding mechanisms and the possibility of injury to the eyes, hands and other parts of the body from the ends of the wire.

1.3. Personal protective equipment: cotton suit; chrome boots with leather soles; combined mittens; safety glasses.

2. Safety requirements before starting work

2.1. Verify:

  • serviceability of feed mechanisms for turning on and stopping equipment, braking devices;
  • reliability of fastening of fences and devices;
  • serviceability of the winding device for the coil of wire;
  • serviceability of blocking devices.

2.2. When lubricating mechanisms, use only appropriate tools.

3. Safety requirements during work

3.1. Install the wire coil on the turntable or drum using lifting mechanisms, without exceeding the load specified for lifting equipment.

3.2. When moving a coil of wire to the installation site, it must be securely attached to the hook of the lifting mechanism.

3.3. Release the coil of wire from the mooring devices only after the coil has been securely installed on the top or drum.

3.4. Before installing the coil, make sure there are no protruding ends of the wire.

3.5. After freeing the coil from the ties, tuck the end of the wire inside the coil and do not allow it to hang from the drum (top) during operation.

3.6. Be careful when threading wire into the spiral winding machine or winding head.

3.7. Release stuck ends of the wire or spiral only after stopping the machine with a special tool (pincers, pliers, hooks), being careful.

3.8. To avoid the formation of burrs on the installed springs, causing cuts to your hands, it is not allowed to use cutting tools with blunt cutting edges.

3.9. Monitor the unwinding of the last turns of wire from the drum (turntable), taking precautions.

3.10. Place the springs intended for stitching the block firmly, after first releasing the compression tension from them with several hand presses.

3.11. To avoid connecting the springs, monitor the movements of the spiral: your fingers should not be against the direction of its movement.

3.12. Place finished spring sets in a designated place at a height of no more than 1,0 m from the floor.

4. Safety requirements in emergency situations

4.1. Turn off equipment.

4.2. Post a table about the malfunction of the machine or equipment and report this to the direct management.

4.3. In the event of a fire or extinguishing a flame, use a nearby fire extinguisher.

4.4. The victim or bystander must notify the appropriate work manager of each accident or poisoning.

4.5. The worker must be able to provide first aid. Such assistance is provided immediately, directly at the scene and in the following sequence: first you need to eliminate the energy source of injury (switch off the engine, stop the mechanism, remove the victim from under the car, a heavy object, etc.).

Assistance should begin with the most significant that threatens life or health (in case of severe bleeding, apply a tourniquet, and then bandage the wound; if a closed fracture is suspected, apply a splint; with open fractures, first bandage the wound and then apply a splint; in case of burns, apply a dry bandage ; in case of frostbite, gently rub the affected area using soft or fluffy tissues). If spinal injury is suspected, transport the victim only in the supine position on a rigid base.

4.6. After providing first aid, the victim should be sent to the nearest medical facility.

5. Safety requirements at the end of work

5.1. Turn off equipment. Wait for it to come to a complete stop. Tidy up the workplace: remove tools, fixtures; clean the machine from dirt and dust; wipe and lubricate the rubbing parts of the machine; neatly fold the finished parts and the remaining material.

5.2. Cleaning of wood waste (sawdust, shavings, dust) from the surface of the equipment, as well as from overalls, is carried out with a brush, sweep or using vacuum cleaners.

It is unacceptable to blow the machine and clothes with compressed air.

5.3. Rags used during work and when cleaning, put the rags in a special metal box with a closing lid and take it outside the workshop to a specially designated place.

5.4. Wash hands with warm water and soap.

5.5. Report all noticed shortcomings in the operation of the equipment to the shift worker or foreman.

Artificial leather for touch emulation 15.04.2024

In a modern technology world where distance is becoming increasingly commonplace, maintaining connection and a sense of closeness is important. Recent developments in artificial skin by German scientists from Saarland University represent a new era in virtual interactions. German researchers from Saarland University have developed ultra-thin films that can transmit the sensation of touch over a distance. This cutting-edge technology provides new opportunities for virtual communication, especially for those who find themselves far from their loved ones. The ultra-thin films developed by the researchers, just 50 micrometers thick, can be integrated into textiles and worn like a second skin. These films act as sensors that recognize tactile signals from mom or dad, and as actuators that transmit these movements to the baby. Parents' touch to the fabric activates sensors that react to pressure and deform the ultra-thin film. This ... >>

The attractiveness of caring men 14.04.2024

The stereotype that women prefer "bad boys" has long been widespread. However, recent research conducted by British scientists from Monash University offers a new perspective on this issue. They looked at how women responded to men's emotional responsibility and willingness to help others. The study's findings could change our understanding of what makes men attractive to women. A study conducted by scientists from Monash University leads to new findings about men's attractiveness to women. In the experiment, women were shown photographs of men with brief stories about their behavior in various situations, including their reaction to an encounter with a homeless person. Some of the men ignored the homeless man, while others helped him, such as buying him food. A study found that men who showed empathy and kindness were more attractive to women compared to men who showed empathy and kindness. ... >>
