OCCUPATIONAL SAFETY AND HEALTH
Instructions for labor protection when working with an angle grinder. Full document Occupational Safety and Health / Standard instructions for labor protection Safe Operation 1. General requirements for labor protection 1.1. This manual has been developed for an angle grinder. The machine is designed for metal-cutting works, works with reinforced concrete products. 1.2. During operation, particles of abrasive and workpiece, as well as contact with rotating parts of the machine, can cause physical injury, and noise during prolonged operation can cause hearing damage. 1.3. When using a power tool to protect against electric shock, to prevent injury and fire, you must follow the basic precautions listed below, read these instructions and follow them in your work. 2. Labor protection requirements before starting work Before using the angle grinder, make sure that: 2.1. The mains voltage corresponds to that indicated on the rating plate of the machine. Angle grinders with the designation 230 V can be connected to a mains voltage of 220 V. 2.2. The switch is in the off position. Connection to the network and disconnection from it is carried out only when the switch is off. 2.3. The permissible peripheral speed marked on the disc must not be less than 80 m/s. 2.4. Power cable and plug are OK. In the event of a malfunction, they must be replaced by a qualified specialist. Protective devices and parts should be carefully checked for damage before using the power tool. Check if the moving parts are able to function normally, if there are any excessive friction and damaged parts. All parts must be properly assembled and meet all conditions to ensure the correct operation of the power tool. 1.5. Before starting work, wear safety goggles, noise protection equipment. In case of high dust content, it is necessary to use a special filter mask. 3. Labor protection requirements during work 3.1. Always use the auxiliary handle, hold the power tool with both hands. 3.2. Always work with the protective cover. 3.3. Make sure that the power cable is out of the drive's range. 3.4. Fix the positions of the workpiece in a vise or other suitable means. 3.5. Tighten the working disk only with a wrench specifically designed for this purpose, use the original support washer and tightening nut. 3.6. Do not use cracked or chipped discs. 3.7. Avoid lateral pressure when the disc stops rotating after the power tool has been unplugged, and also when working with cut-off discs. 3.9. This power tool must not be used in rain, high humidity (after rain), or near flammable liquids or gases. 3.10. The workplace should be well lit. 3.11. Do not overload the power tool, work within the passport range. 3.12. It is forbidden to use the machine for such purposes and for such work for which it was not intended in principle. For example, use it for sawing logs or trimming branches. 3.13. During work, the employee must be dressed in overalls, well tucked in, excluding the possibility of catching on the moving parts of the power tool. When working outdoors, it is recommended to use shoes that do not allow slipping. If you have long hair, you must wear a hat. 3.14. Use electrical cords as directed. Do not carry a power tool by holding it by the cord. Do not pull on the wire to remove the plug from the socket. It is necessary to protect the wires from heat and oil, avoid damage to the insulation. 3.15. When working while standing, it is necessary to maintain a stable position and avoid abnormal postures. You need to be sure to stand on your feet, trying to always maintain the balance of the body. 3.16. When replacing wheels, equipment, you must remove the plug from the outlet. After changing the disc, it is necessary to check the operation of the angle grinder at idle speed for one minute. 3.17. Do not carry a power tool without unplugging it or with your finger on the start button. Make sure the switch is in the off position before inserting the plug into the socket. 3.18. Watch your work, be careful, do not use power tools if you cannot concentrate on work. 3.19. The workplace must be lit. 4. Labor protection requirements at the end of work 4.1. Tidy up the work area after finishing work. Disorder in the workplace leads to the risk of an accident. 4.2. Check the condition of the plugs and wires, if they are damaged, measures should be taken to replace them, and a general inspection of the power tool should be carried out. If defects are found, they must be corrected. 4.3. Power tools must be stored in a safe place, in a dry, enclosed area. 5. Labor protection requirements in emergency situations 5.1. In the event of extraneous sounds, the smell of burning, stop work and inform the responsible person. 5.2. If a chip or crack is found on the wheel, immediately stop work and inform the responsible person. 5.3. If vibration or wobble occurs, the disc should be changed immediately. 5.4. When a person gets under voltage, it is necessary to use the First Aid Rules, having previously freed the victim from the action of electric current. 5.5. At voltages up to 1000 V, a rope, stick, board or some other dry object should be used to separate the victim from live parts or wires. You can pull the victim by the clothes, by the legs, avoiding touching the clothes, shoes of the victim without good hand insulation (put on dielectric gloves, wrap a hand with a scarf, pull a jacket sleeve over your hand). If an electric current passes into the ground through the victim and he convulsively squeezes the wire in his hand, then it is easier to interrupt the action of the current by separating the victim from the ground. You can cut the wire with an ax with a dry wooden handle or make a break using a tool with insulating handles. 5.6. When providing first aid, first of all, it is necessary to assess the condition of the victim. If the victim has no consciousness, breathing, pulse, the skin is cyanotic, and the pupils are dilated, you should immediately begin to restore the vital functions of the body by performing artificial respiration and external heart massage. If assistance is provided by one person, he is located on the side of the victim and, bending over, makes two quick, vigorous blows (according to the "mouth-to-mouth" or "mouth-to-nose" method). Then he unbends, puts the palm of one hand on the lower half of the sternum, retreating two fingers higher from its lower edge, he puts the palm of the second hand on top of the first and presses, helping by tilting his body. 5.7. If the revival is performed by one person, then for every two deep breaths, he produces 15 pressures on the sternum. With the participation of two people in resuscitation, the ratio "breathing - massage" is 1:5, i.e. after one deep breath, five chest compressions are performed. Artificial respiration and external cardiac massage should be carried out until the patient is restored to stable independent breathing and heart activity or until he is transferred to medical personnel.
