1. General requirements for labor protection

General labor protection requirements are set out in the instructions "General requirements for labor protection for workers engaged in logging and forestry work".

2. Labor protection requirements before starting work

2.1. Get a task from the master or other manager on which area to work. Unauthorized moving to other areas is not allowed.

2.2. Make sure that the units of machines and technological equipment are in good condition. The following are subject to verification: fastening of technological equipment, cabin fencing, sound signal, lighting devices, glazing, protective devices.

2.3. All operations on the regulation of technological equipment, maintenance and repair must be carried out with the engine stopped.

2.4. When refueling vehicles with fuel and oil, it is necessary to use special devices that exclude spillage of fuel and lubricants.

2.5. Before starting the engine, make sure that the handles for controlling the machine and attachments are in the neutral position, the hydraulic system is turned off, and there are no foreign objects on the rotating parts of the engine and transmission.

2.6. When inspecting and repairing the manipulator boom, cylinders, hydraulic hoses, as well as other components and parts located at a height of more than 1,5 m, you should use an inventory ladder or a special overpass with a solid floor.

2.7. After starting the engine, the driver must check all the mechanisms of the machine and process equipment at idle. If any faults are found, if they cannot be eliminated on their own, they should be reported to the foreman. It is not allowed to work on a machine that is faulty or has not been serviced in a timely manner.

2.8. Before starting the movement, the driver must make sure that there are no people near the machine and in the way of its movement and give a signal.

2.9. When moving the machine over a distance of more than 50 m, the technological equipment must be brought to the transport position.

3. Labor protection requirements during work

3.1. There must be one driver on the machine when it is in operation. The presence of unauthorized persons in the cab or other places of the machine is prohibited.

3.2. The passage of vehicles under overhead power lines or communication lines, as well as under overhead cable systems, must be carried out taking into account the height dimensions.

3.3. Drivers are prohibited from:

  • leave the car unattended with the engine running;
  • getting in and out of the cab on the go or while the process equipment is in operation;
  • stand under raised technological equipment;
  • drive on slopes exceeding the values specified in the technological documentation for the operation of a particular type of machine;
  • climb under the machine for inspection and repair, perform lubrication and adjustment of process equipment with the engine running;
  • smoking in the cab when refueling the machine and hydraulic system;
  • work in oiled and combustible clothing;
  • operate hydraulic distributors not from the cab;
  • leave the working body (boom, pusher, etc.) in the unlowered position.

3.4. Entry (entry) into the dangerous zone of felling, regardless of the technology and organization of work, can only be allowed by the feller. To do this, it is necessary to give a signal to the feller from the border of the danger zone and enter or enter it only when a response permitting signal is received.

3.5. The driver must carry out the movement of the machine in the cutting area along the prepared portage. The width of the portage between pine trees in non-clear cuttings should be 4 m. In pine-aspen-birch plantations and between separate trees of these species, the width of the portage should be 4,5 m. on slopes, the width of the portage increases by 5 m. The turning radius of the main portage must be at least 2 m;

3.6. During operation, the driver must comply with the following safety requirements:

  • turn the machines in places where there are no obstacles (the boulders are removed, the stumps have a height corresponding to the technical capabilities of the machine);
  • move down the slope and overcome obstacles in first gear;
  • drive over fallen trees or their parts at a right angle to them, and through ditches and ditches - at an angle of 15 - 20 °;
  • do not leave the car on a slope; in case of a forced stop, brake, place stops under the wheels, lower the technological equipment.

3.7. The driver is not allowed:

  • sharply brake and turn the machine and technological equipment;
  • work in a car with an open door and broken windows.

3.8. Steep descents and ascents must be overcome only in working range gears. At the same time, do not turn off the engine, turn off the clutch, perform sudden braking and turns. When driving a machine with a load on slopes, gear shifting is prohibited.

3.9. When transporting assortments, the operator must ensure that no one is in the danger zone around the bundle being formed and in the danger zone of 10 meters around the moving machine.

3.10. Safety signs and warning labels should be installed at the places where assortments are stacked. For each stack, a stacked base of logs-linings must be equipped.

3.11. The height of the stack of round timber should be no more than one and a half lengths of the assortments. Individual logs should not protrude beyond it by more than 0,5 m. Devices should be provided at the end of dense stacks to prevent arbitrary rolling of logs. In the absence of such devices, the ends of the stacks must have an angle equal to the angle of natural rolling of the logs (no more than 15°).

4. Labor protection requirements in emergency situations

4.1. When readings of instruments indicate insufficient oil pressure in the engine or an increased temperature of the coolant, it is necessary to immediately stop the tractor and turn off the engine. Next, you need to identify the malfunction and take measures to eliminate it.

Open the radiator cap to check the coolant level with extreme caution, avoiding burns. First, loosen it by releasing steam, and then remove the cap on the neck. In this case, you need to work only in mittens.

4.2. If the cabin door is jammed, it is necessary to use the exit through the opening windows; if it is impossible to use them, break the glass and leave the cab.

4.3. If it is necessary to eliminate the malfunction that has arisen during operation and maintenance, it is necessary to turn off the machine engine.

4.4. In the event of a fire, a fire extinguisher in the cab must be used to extinguish the flame.

4.5. Disconnection of high-pressure hydraulic hoses from the cylinder of the working bodies must be carried out after they are opened or lowered.

4.6. The work of skidders should be stopped during heavy rain, during thunderstorms, heavy snowfall, thick fog, at night, if the illumination of working areas is less than the artificial lighting established by the norms, and at wind speeds of more than 11 m/s.

4.7. The victim or eyewitness must notify the foreman or the appropriate work manager of each accident.

4.8. Each worker must be able to provide first aid. Assistance must be provided immediately at the scene of the incident. The first step is to eliminate the source of injury (turn off the engine, stop the mechanism, remove the victim from under the whip, etc.). The provision of assistance should begin with the most significant that threatens the health or life of a person: in case of severe bleeding, apply a tourniquet, and then bandage the wound; if a closed fracture is suspected, apply a splint; with open fractures, you should first bandage the wound, and then apply a splint; for burns, apply a dry bandage; in case of frostbite, gently rub the affected area using soft or fluffy tissues.

If spinal injuries are suspected, the victim can only be transported in the supine position on a rigid base.

After providing first aid, the victim should be sent to the nearest medical facility.

5. Labor protection requirements at the end of work

5.1. Upon completion of work, you should:

  • park the car;
  • bring technological equipment into transport position;
  • bring the control handles of the tractor and technological equipment to the neutral position;
  • turn off the hydraulic pumps, stop the engine, disconnect the battery, close the cab door with a lock;
  • clean the car from dirt and branches;
  • when parking in cold weather, drain the water from the radiator and engine cooling system.

5.2. Any deficiencies in the field of labor protection must be reported to the foreman or the relevant work manager.

Artificial leather for touch emulation 15.04.2024

In a modern technology world where distance is becoming increasingly commonplace, maintaining connection and a sense of closeness is important. Recent developments in artificial skin by German scientists from Saarland University represent a new era in virtual interactions. German researchers from Saarland University have developed ultra-thin films that can transmit the sensation of touch over a distance. This cutting-edge technology provides new opportunities for virtual communication, especially for those who find themselves far from their loved ones. The ultra-thin films developed by the researchers, just 50 micrometers thick, can be integrated into textiles and worn like a second skin. These films act as sensors that recognize tactile signals from mom or dad, and as actuators that transmit these movements to the baby. Parents' touch to the fabric activates sensors that react to pressure and deform the ultra-thin film. This ... >>

Stable qubit operating at room temperature 21.11.2013

European and Canadian physicists have been able to create a new type of qubit that remains stable for 38 minutes at room temperature, which is an absolute record in its class and opens up the possibility of creating quantum computers that can work at home.

"This qubit lifetime is at least 10 times longer than what was achieved in previous experiments. We managed to find a system in which there is practically no noise, which allowed us to create high-performance qubits. Now we need to make such qubits "talk to each other" , which is the last key challenge on the way to creating a quantum computer," said Stephanie Simmons from the University of Oxford (UK).

Simmons and her colleagues created a "record holder" qubit by experimenting with quantum memory cells based on phosphorus atoms "glued" to a plate of pure silicon. As a rule, all experiments with qubits are carried out at ultralow temperatures close to absolute zero.

The authors of the article decided to check how the qubits they invented would behave in room conditions. To their surprise, they did not lose their contents when "defrosted" and continued to store the state for another 38 minutes.

This is a record value, which is tens and hundreds of times higher than the results of previous experiments, in which the life of a qubit was usually limited to two seconds or less. So far, such qubits cannot be "read" or "written" at room temperature, but scientists are confident that they will be able to do this in the near future.

"To some, 39 minutes may seem like an extremely small figure, but the spin of a phosphorus atom can change in just one hundred-thousandth of a second. Due to this, during the time the stability of a qubit is reduced by only 1%, we can perform over 20 million operations. Therefore, the discovery of such a stable qubit could help us create a quantum computer," Simmons concludes.
