Instruction on labor protection for the driver of the machine for driving and dipping piles. Full Document Occupational Safety and Health / Standard instructions for labor protection Safe Operation General safety requirements 1. Employees at least 18 years of age who have undergone appropriate training and have professional skills as a driver, before being allowed to work independently, must undergo:
2. Drivers are obliged to comply with labor safety requirements to ensure protection from the impact of hazardous and harmful production factors related to the nature of work:
3. To protect against mechanical impacts and pollution, drivers are required to use cotton overalls provided by employers free of charge, combined mittens, suits with insulating padding and felt boots for the winter period. Drivers must wear safety helmets when on site. 4. Being on the territory of the construction (production) site, in production and amenity premises, work sites and workplaces, drivers are required to comply with the internal labor regulations adopted in this organization. Admission of unauthorized persons, as well as employees in a state of intoxication to these places is prohibited. 5. In the course of daily activities, drivers must:
6. Drivers are obliged to immediately notify their immediate or superior manager about any situation that threatens the life and health of people, about every accident that occurs at work, or about a deterioration in their health, including the appearance of an acute occupational disease (poisoning). Safety requirements before starting work 7. Before starting work, the driver must: a) present to the work manager a certificate of checking the knowledge of safe work methods, receive an assignment and be instructed at the workplace on the specifics of the work performed; b) put on overalls, special footwear and a helmet of the established sample. 8. After receiving the task, the driver must: a) examine with the work manager the location of underground utilities and structures, which must be marked with flags or poles; b) clarify the sequence of piling work and safety measures; c) carry out daily maintenance in accordance with the operating instructions for the machine; d) warn about the start of the engine to workers servicing the machine or located in the area of its work, and make sure that the gear lever is in the neutral position; e) start the engine (if there are devices that turn off the transmission and exclude the reverse motion of the rotating elements - outside the cab); f) after starting the engine at idle, check the operation of all mechanisms and the operation of the brakes at low speed; g) make sure that there are fences of the danger zone and warning posters, sufficient illumination of the site, and also that there are no unauthorized persons in the piling area. 9. The driver must not start work in case of the following violations of safety requirements: a) malfunctions of mechanisms, as well as the presence of defects in metal structures or ropes, in which the operation of the machine is prohibited; b) the presence of defects in load-handling devices or their inconsistency with the nature of the work performed; c) discrepancy between the characteristics of the machine in terms of load capacity and boom reach to the working conditions; d) the absence or malfunction of the signaling device; e) the presence of visible damage to reinforced concrete piles; e) insufficient illumination of the place of work. The detected malfunctions should be eliminated on their own, and if it is impossible to do this, the driver is obliged to report them to the person responsible for the safe performance of work, as well as the person responsible for maintaining the machine in good condition. Safety requirements during work 10. It is necessary to move the machine with the hammer lowered along the planned site. 11. Piles should only be pulled through a pull-off block fixed at the base of the machine and in a straight line within the operator's line of sight. 12. When lifting, the pile must be kept from swinging and rotating with the help of braces. 13. Raise the pile hammer and the piles should be sequential. Simultaneous lifting of the hammer and pile is not allowed. 14. Before starting the pile hammer, the driver must give a sound signal. 15. When raising and lowering the hammer on the unit, the piston must be in the lower position, and the hammer head must be equipped with wooden shock absorber inserts. 16. When starting and operating the hammer, the driver must ensure that the workers are no closer than 4 m from the hammer. 17. When installing piles, the tilt of the pile boom should be changed when the diesel hammer is fixed in the lower position. 18. The driver is prohibited from: a) allow persons who do not have a pile driver's certificate and are not assigned to this machine to sling piles; b) lift a pile, the mass of which exceeds the carrying capacity of the unit; c) lift other loads with the base machine, except for parts and assemblies of attachments; d) lift the pile and the hammer at the same time; e) pull up piles clamped by other materials or products, frozen to the ground, and also stacked in more than two rows; f) lift reinforced concrete piles with broken mounting loops; g) leave the pile and the hammer suspended in the event of a temporary cessation of work; h) transfer control of the unit to a person who does not have an appropriate certificate for this; i) loosen the rope on which the pile is held before installing a diesel hammer on it; j) lowering the hammer or pile with the winch drum fully released, followed by catching the brake at the end of the descent; k) remove the hammer from the pile if the latter is driven by less than 1/3 of its length; l) leave the machine unattended while the hammer is in operation; m) work with a faulty hammer; o) maintain and repair the hammer with the cylinder or piston raised and not locked; o) take part in the work of cutting and removing pile heads without a formalized work permit. 19. When moving and installing the machine near the recesses, the driver must observe the safe distances from the bottom of the slope to the nearest support of the machine, not less than those indicated in Table 1 below. Table 1. Minimum machine approach distances to excavations Safety requirements in emergency situations 20. If weather conditions change (snowfall, fog or rain) that impair visibility within the work front, as well as wind speeds up to 15 m/s or more, work must be stopped and reported to the work manager. 21. If there are signs of a malfunction of the engine, hydraulic system or lifting mechanism, as well as signs of destruction of the pile, work must be suspended and measures taken to eliminate the malfunctions. 22. In case of deviation of the driven pile from the design position or its destruction during driving, such a pile should be pulled out using a double-action hammer or a vibratory driver, if the machine is equipped with such a unit. Safety requirements at the end of work 23. At the end of the work, the driver must: a) lower the hammer to the lower position and fix it on the copra boom. If the pile is driven under the pile driver, then lower the diesel hammer onto the pile and fasten it together with it; b) put the car in the parking lot; c) turn off and lock all starting devices of the machine; d) remove all removable load-handling devices, clean them and put them in the place provided for storage; e) clean, wipe and put away the tool in the designated place; f) put the workplace in order; g) inform the work manager and the person responsible for maintaining the machine in good condition about all the problems that have arisen during work.
