OCCUPATIONAL SAFETY AND HEALTH
Instructions on labor protection for the driver of a feller-bucker-delimber machine (harvester) and a skidder-transport machine (forwarder). Full document Occupational Safety and Health / Standard instructions for labor protection 1. General safety requirements 1.1. The driver is obliged to comply with the general safety requirements introduced at this enterprise for workers employed in logging and forestry work. 2. Safety requirements before starting work 2.1. Get a task from the foreman, foreman or other manager on which area to work. Unauthorized moving to other areas is not allowed. 2.2. Make sure that the machine components and process equipment are in good condition. The following are subject to verification: fastening of technological equipment, cabin fencing, sound signal, lighting devices, glazing, fastening of protective devices. 2.3. All operations for the regulation of technological equipment, maintenance and repair should be carried out with the engine stopped. 2.4. When refueling the machine with fuel and oil, it is necessary to use special devices that exclude spillage of fuel and lubricants. 2.5. Before starting the engine, the driver must make sure that the control handles for the machine and attachments are in the neutral position, the hydraulic system is turned off, and there are no foreign objects on the rotating parts of the engine and transmission. 2.6. Engine heating in winter for machines that do not have pre-start heating should be carried out with hot water, steam, mobile heat generators or individual heaters. It is not allowed to use open fire to heat the engine and hydraulic system units of the machine. 2.7. When inspecting and repairing the manipulator boom, cylinders, hydraulic hoses, as well as other components and parts located at a height of more than 1,5 m, you should use an inventory ladder or a special overpass with a solid floor. 2.8. After starting the engine, the driver must check all the mechanisms of the machine and process equipment at idle. If malfunctions are detected and it is impossible to eliminate them on their own, the driver is obliged to report this to the mechanic or foreman. It is not allowed to work on a machine that is defective or has not been serviced in a timely manner. 2.9. Before starting the movement, the driver must make sure that there are no people near the machine and in the way of its movement, give a signal and only after that start moving. 2.10. When the machine is moving at a distance of more than 50 m, the technological equipment must be brought to the transport position. 2.11. The area at a distance of the height of a double stand, but not less than 50 m from the place of felling, or a site with a volume of work for half a shift from the side of the probable movement of people (timber truck, skid trail, road, trail and other places) must be fenced off with safety signs. 3. Safety requirements during work 3.1. Machines must be operated by one driver. The presence of unauthorized persons in the cab or other places of the machine is prohibited. 3.2. The passage of vehicles under overhead power or communication lines, as well as under overhead cable systems, must be carried out taking into account the height dimensions. 3.3 Drivers are prohibited from:
For harvester 3.4. During the felling of trees, a minimum gap equal to twice the height of the stand, but not less than 50 m, must be maintained between the felling machine and other machines or workers working in the cutting area. 3.5. Entry (entry) into the danger zone, regardless of the technology, can only be allowed by the driver who performs the felling of trees, their cleaning and bucking of the whips. To do this, it is necessary to give a signal to the driver from the border of the danger zone and enter or enter it only when a response permitting signal is received. 3.6. If a violation of the danger zone is detected, work on the machine must be stopped immediately. 3.7. Deviation from the instructions of the technological map for the development of a cutting area by a machinist is not allowed. In cases of questions, they are resolved with the permission of the immediate supervisor. 3.8. The operator of the felling-lopping-crosscutting machine (harvester), performing a complex of logging operations, must comply with the requirements for the portage, the technological corridor for the further operation of the skidder-transport machine (forwarder). These requirements consist in cutting down trees in the direction of movement flush with the ground, forming the width of the portage, the technological corridor in the apiary or its sections in accordance with the instructions of the technological map, maintaining the minimum safe turning radius for the movement of the forwarder, equal to 30 m. 3.9. It is not allowed to fell trees, the diameter of which is more than provided for in the technological documentation for the operation of the machine. 3.10. Moving the feller-lopper-bucker during sawing, delimbing and bucking is not allowed. For forwarder 3.11. The forwarder driver must move the machine along the trail of the harvester. 3.12. During operation, the forwarder driver must comply with the following safety requirements:
3.13. The forwarder driver is not allowed to:
3.14. Steep descents and ascents must be overcome only in working range gears. At the same time, do not turn off the engine, engage the clutch, perform sudden braking and turns. When driving a machine with a load on slopes, gear shifting is prohibited. 3.15. When transporting assortments, the driver must ensure that no one is in the danger zone of 10 meters around the bundle being formed and the machine moving with it. 4. Safety requirements in emergency situations 4.1. If the gauges indicate insufficient oil pressure in the engine or high coolant temperature, you must immediately stop the machine and turn off the engine. Next, take action to eliminate the identified problems. After cooling the engine, measure the oil level, inspect the oil pipeline system and eliminate the identified defects; open the radiator cap without sharply unscrewing it, having achieved a gradual loosening of the cap, release steam, and then only remove the cap from the neck. In this case, you need to work in gloves. 4.2. When the chain of the saw mechanism breaks in machines used for felling, determine the size of the unsawn part of the wood by the position of the saw bar to assess the stability of the tree. If the underdrink is insignificant, land the tree. If the tree is large, release the bar from the cut, take a spare saw chain and replace it. 4.3. If the cabin door is jammed, it is necessary to use the exit through the opening windows, if it is impossible to use it, or squeeze out or break the glass and leave the cabin. 4.4. If it is necessary to eliminate the malfunction that has arisen during operation and maintenance, the driver must turn off the engine of the machine. 4.5. In the event of a fire, the fire extinguisher in the cab must be used to extinguish the flame. 4.6. In mountain cutting areas, felling and skidding should be stopped at wind speeds above 8,5 m/s, and in flat areas, only felling at wind speeds above 11 m/s. 4.7. Disconnection of high-pressure hydraulic hoses from the cylinder of the working bodies must be carried out after they are opened or lowered. 4.8. The work of skidders should be stopped during heavy rain, during a thunderstorm, heavy snowfall, thick fog (visibility less than 50 m), at night, if the illumination of working areas is less than the established norms of artificial lighting. 4.9. The victim or eyewitness must notify the foreman or the appropriate work manager of each accident. 4.10. The driver must be able to provide first aid. Such assistance is provided immediately, directly at the scene and in the following sequence: first you need to eliminate the energy source of injury (turn off the engine, stop the mechanism, remove the victim from under the whip, tractor, etc.). Assistance should begin with the most significant that threatens life or health (in case of severe bleeding, apply a tourniquet, and then bandage the wound; if a closed fracture is suspected, apply a splint; with open fractures, bandage the wound and then apply a splint; in case of burns, apply a dry bandage, if frostbite, rub the affected area gently using a soft or fluffy cloth). If spinal injury is suspected, transport the victim only in the supine position on a rigid base. 4.11. After providing first aid, the victim should be sent to the nearest medical facility. 5. Safety requirements at the end of work 5.1. The driver must:
