Safety Precautions

1. In winter, during ice and thaw, the following hazards are possible:

  • head and limb injuries;
  • dislocations and fractures;
  • spinal injuries;
  • sprains and ruptures of ligaments;
  • muscle injuries.

2. Wear comfortable and non-slip shoes when leaving the house during ice. Adhesive plasters can be applied to shoes with smooth soles. Walk along the edge of the footpath, take your time, avoid other pedestrians carefully.

3. Climbing or descending the stairs, hold on to the handrails, railings. Put your feet on slippery steps carefully, slightly at an angle.

4. When crossing the road, follow the rules of the road, do not cross the street and do not run across in front of nearby vehicles. Remember - the roadway is slippery and braking of vehicles is difficult, drifts are possible.

5. If there is a traffic light - go only to the green light.

6. On ice, choose a safer route and leave the house in advance.

7 In case of a fall on the carriageway, try to get up quickly and move to a safe place, if you can’t get up, ask passers-by to help you, if they are not there, then try to crawl to the edge of the road to a safe place.

8. If an accident occurs, it is necessary to urgently deliver the victim to a medical institution and inform the foreman, director.

9. In case of heavy snowfalls and thaw, when leaving buildings, do not linger on the porch, but quickly move to a safe distance from the building (5 meters). When entering the building, be sure to raise your head up and make sure that there are no hanging blocks of snow, ice and icicles.

10. When moving on the street, do not walk along the walls of the building, but move along the footpaths, approaching the building at a safe distance, be sure to raise your head up, and only after making sure that there is no ice, icicles and hanging boulders, pass in this place. If a section of the footpath is fenced and snow is being thrown from the roofs, be sure to bypass this place at a safe distance. Comply with signs or verbal explanations of utility workers.

11. If an accident occurs, it is necessary to drag the victim to a safe distance, provide assistance to him, if necessary, urgently deliver the victim to a medical institution and be sure to report the incident to the educational institution to the foreman, director.

Artificial leather for touch emulation 15.04.2024

In a modern technology world where distance is becoming increasingly commonplace, maintaining connection and a sense of closeness is important. Recent developments in artificial skin by German scientists from Saarland University represent a new era in virtual interactions. German researchers from Saarland University have developed ultra-thin films that can transmit the sensation of touch over a distance. This cutting-edge technology provides new opportunities for virtual communication, especially for those who find themselves far from their loved ones. The ultra-thin films developed by the researchers, just 50 micrometers thick, can be integrated into textiles and worn like a second skin. These films act as sensors that recognize tactile signals from mom or dad, and as actuators that transmit these movements to the baby. Parents' touch to the fabric activates sensors that react to pressure and deform the ultra-thin film. This ... >>

Petgugu Global cat litter 15.04.2024

Taking care of pets can often be a challenge, especially when it comes to keeping your home clean. A new interesting solution from the Petgugu Global startup has been presented, which will make life easier for cat owners and help them keep their home perfectly clean and tidy. Startup Petgugu Global has unveiled a unique cat toilet that can automatically flush feces, keeping your home clean and fresh. This innovative device is equipped with various smart sensors that monitor your pet's toilet activity and activate to automatically clean after use. The device connects to the sewer system and ensures efficient waste removal without the need for intervention from the owner. Additionally, the toilet has a large flushable storage capacity, making it ideal for multi-cat households. The Petgugu cat litter bowl is designed for use with water-soluble litters and offers a range of additional ... >>

The attractiveness of caring men 14.04.2024

The stereotype that women prefer "bad boys" has long been widespread. However, recent research conducted by British scientists from Monash University offers a new perspective on this issue. They looked at how women responded to men's emotional responsibility and willingness to help others. The study's findings could change our understanding of what makes men attractive to women. A study conducted by scientists from Monash University leads to new findings about men's attractiveness to women. In the experiment, women were shown photographs of men with brief stories about their behavior in various situations, including their reaction to an encounter with a homeless person. Some of the men ignored the homeless man, while others helped him, such as buying him food. A study found that men who showed empathy and kindness were more attractive to women compared to men who showed empathy and kindness. ... >>

Gas storage inside coal 08.06.2023

Scientists at the University of Pennsylvania have built a prototype plant for pumping hydrogen gas into coal and extracting it from there. The researchers plan to use natural coal as a gas storage and thus store energy in it, instead of burning coal. Such an approach, engineers are sure, can revolutionize the energy sector.

Scientists note that considering that environmental initiatives to preserve the environment and search for alternative energy sources are actively promoted in the world, the coal industry begins to suffer significant losses. Despite this, the mineral reserves are still very large, and this creates significant problems for the economies of countries involved in the mining industry. In addition, hydrogen is considered a promising source of energy for the future, as it is easy to obtain and when burned, it does not form harmful emissions. However, the storage of hydrogen on an industrial scale is a super-difficult task that has not yet been implemented.

Scientists emphasize that it is wrong to consider coal as a mineral. In its structure, it is more like a polymer of carbon - like a porous sponge that can absorb a significant amount of gas molecules. The researchers believe that the same principle can be applied to hydrogen.

Scientists admit that the technology of storing hydrogen in coal is not ready for practical application, but in the future it may become the basis of energy, since it will allow the use of natural materials in a new quality and in large quantities. This gives a chance to restore coal production and at the same time reduce emissions of harmful gases into the atmosphere.
