Safe Operation

1. General requirements for labor protection

1.1. The machine and all mechanisms must have guards, protective devices and devices that exclude:

  • touching the moving parts or the working tool of the machine;
  • departure from the machine of the cutting tool or its parts, as well as workpieces and parts being processed;
  • getting into the machine operator or other persons near the machine, chips and cuts of the material being processed.

1.2. Do only the work that you have been trained to do.

1.3. Be careful while working

1.4. Do not touch moving mechanisms. Make sure that there is and monitor the serviceability of grounding.

1.5. Do not block aisles and driveways.

1.6. In all cases of malfunction of the machine, report to your supervisor.

1.7. Each machine operator is obliged to know and comply with the requirements set forth in this manual.

2. Labor protection requirements before starting work

2.1. Getting Started:

  • put on and put in order your overalls and shoes;
  • fasten all the buttons of the overalls so that there are no hanging ends (strings of the sleeves of a dressing gown, ends of a scarf, etc.);
  • put on a tight headdress (cap, beret or scarf and remove the hair for a year);
  • carefully lace up or fasten safety shoes tightly.

2.2. Tidy up the workplace, remove all unnecessary from the working platform and from the machine, remove chips.

2.3. Install racks for blanks and products in a convenient position.

2.4. Get the necessary cutting tool and check its serviceability,

2.5. Securely fasten the cutter in the chuck. To install the cutting tool, use wrenches.

2.6. Check machine for proper operation.

2.7. The lathe must be equipped with a dust collector along its entire length to suck out chip dust.

2.8. Before turning on the rates, check if there are unauthorized persons in the workplace.

3. Labor protection requirements during work

3.1. A person working on a lathe must know and follow the rules for operating the machine.

3.2. Wear safety goggles to protect your eyes from injury.

3.3. Before installing workpieces with a faceted shape or an unequal surface into the machine, remove the edges or irregularities to give the part the shape of a body of revolution.

3.4. Reliably strengthen the workpiece in the centers of the machine.

3.5. Feed the cutting tool to the workpiece only at the moment of full rotation of the spindle.

3.6. Processing of long workpieces is carried out in the centers, short - in the chuck.

3.7. Do not grind glued parts at high speeds, process them, having previously fastened them with staples or strips.

3.8. To process the end surface, use plates with spikes.

3.9. When processing parts with a length of more than 0,8 m, it is necessary to use a special stop stand - adjustable rest.

3.10. Set the number of revolutions of the machine depending on the diameter of the workpiece.

3.11. If during the turning of the workpiece there is a scuffing of the wood fibers, change the direction of movement of the chisel or cutting.

3.12. Do not work with a blunt tool. Change the cutting tool with the machine turned off.

3.13. Do not measure parts while the machine is running.

3.14. Place the processed parts in stable stacks on racks or underfoot places. The height of the stack should not exceed 1,5 m.

3.15. Periodically during operation, clean the machine. Remove chips and fingers only with a brush, broom or scraper.

3.16. Do not lean on the table, do not sit on it while the machine is in operation.

3.17. Do not place tools, fixtures and other items on the table and machine bed.

3.18. Before stopping the machine, turn off the feed and move the cutting tool away from the workpiece, otherwise the tool may break.

3.19. Dressing or undressing near the operating equipment is prohibited.

4. Labor protection requirements at the end of work

4.1. Stop the machine, turn off the switch, disconnect the electric motor from the network.

4.2. Collect and check the availability and serviceability of tools and fixtures, put them in the place provided for them.

4.3. Tidy up the workplace, remove materials, waste, wipe and lubricate the equipment, carefully fold the remaining workpieces.

Artificial leather for touch emulation 15.04.2024

In a modern technology world where distance is becoming increasingly commonplace, maintaining connection and a sense of closeness is important. Recent developments in artificial skin by German scientists from Saarland University represent a new era in virtual interactions. German researchers from Saarland University have developed ultra-thin films that can transmit the sensation of touch over a distance. This cutting-edge technology provides new opportunities for virtual communication, especially for those who find themselves far from their loved ones. The ultra-thin films developed by the researchers, just 50 micrometers thick, can be integrated into textiles and worn like a second skin. These films act as sensors that recognize tactile signals from mom or dad, and as actuators that transmit these movements to the baby. Parents' touch to the fabric activates sensors that react to pressure and deform the ultra-thin film. This ... >>

The attractiveness of caring men 14.04.2024

The stereotype that women prefer "bad boys" has long been widespread. However, recent research conducted by British scientists from Monash University offers a new perspective on this issue. They looked at how women responded to men's emotional responsibility and willingness to help others. The study's findings could change our understanding of what makes men attractive to women. A study conducted by scientists from Monash University leads to new findings about men's attractiveness to women. In the experiment, women were shown photographs of men with brief stories about their behavior in various situations, including their reaction to an encounter with a homeless person. Some of the men ignored the homeless man, while others helped him, such as buying him food. A study found that men who showed empathy and kindness were more attractive to women compared to men who showed empathy and kindness. ... >>

Factory for the production of artificial meat 30.06.2021

Israeli company Future Meat Technologies launched the world's first factory for the production of artificial meat

The facility in Rehovot will produce up to 500 kg of cultivated chicken, pork and lamb daily. This amount is enough to make about 5000 hamburgers.

Most artificial meat producers use one of two growing methods. The first is the creation of plant-based substitutes for beef and pork (for example, the startup Impossible Foods is following this path), and the second is the production of products from living cells grown in the laboratory.

In the latter case, the cells are grown in special bioreactors, while the same substances are used as a nutrient "broth" for them that ordinary animals receive.

Future Meat Technologies has adopted exactly this technology, supplementing it with its own know-how. Rejecting genetic modification, Israeli specialists have developed a special process that effectively removes waste from the nutrient medium, which ultimately increases the yield of the final product tenfold.

The environmental component is no less important - the technology provides an 80% reduction in CO2 emissions and a 96% reduction in fresh water consumption. Also, the need for pastures is almost completely eliminated.
