Safe Operation

1. General safety requirements

1.1. For independent work on the manufacture of metal structures, persons who have passed:

  • induction training;
  • fire safety briefing;
  • initial briefing at the workplace;
  • training in safe working methods and techniques for at least a 10-hour program (for work that is subject to increased safety requirements - a 20-hour program);
  • instructing on electrical safety at the workplace and checking the assimilation of its content.

Persons who do not have medical contraindications for this profession, who have been trained and instructed in labor protection, can be accepted to perform the duties of a metalworker for the assembly of metal structures.

1.2. The locksmith must pass:

  • repeated briefing on labor safety at the workplace at least every three months;
  • unscheduled briefing: when changing the technological process or labor protection rules, replacing or modernizing production equipment, fixtures and tools, changing working conditions and organization, in case of violations of labor protection instructions, breaks in work for more than 60 calendar days (for work, to which are subject to increased security requirements - 30 calendar days);
  • dispensary medical examination - once every 2 years.

1.3. The locksmith must:

  • comply with the internal labor regulations established at the enterprise;
  • comply with the requirements of this manual, fire safety instructions, electrical safety instructions;
  • comply with safety requirements when using portable power tools; equipment operation;
  • use for its intended purpose and take care of the issued personal protective equipment.

1.4. The locksmith must:

  • be able to provide first (pre-medical) assistance to the victim in an accident;
  • know the location of first aid, primary fire extinguishing equipment, main and emergency exits, evacuation routes in case of an accident or fire;
  • perform only the assigned work and not transfer it to others without the permission of the foreman or head of the workshop;
  • during work, be attentive, not be distracted and not distract others, do not allow persons who are not related to work to the workplace;
  • keep the workplace clean and tidy.

1.5. The locksmith must know and follow the rules of personal hygiene. Eat, smoke, rest only in specially designated areas and places. Drink water only from specially designed installations.

1.6. If any malfunctions of equipment, fixtures, tools and other shortcomings or hazards are found in the workplace, immediately inform the foreman or head of the workshop. You can start work only with their permission after the elimination of all deficiencies.

1.7. If a fire is detected or in the event of a fire:

  • turn off the equipment;
  • inform the fire brigade and administration;
  • start extinguishing the fire with the primary fire extinguishing equipment available in the workshop in accordance with the fire safety instructions.

In case of a threat to life - leave the premises.

1.8. In case of an accident, provide the victim with first (pre-medical) aid, immediately report the incident to the foreman or head of the workshop, take measures to preserve the situation of the incident (equipment condition), if this does not create a danger to others.

1.9. For non-compliance with the safety requirements set forth in this manual, the mechanic is responsible in accordance with applicable law.

1.10. In accordance with the "Model industry standards for the free issue of special clothing, special footwear and other personal protective equipment to workers and employees", a repairman is supposed to: a cotton suit - a wear period of 12 months and combined mittens - a wear period of 2 months. Permanently engaged outdoors in assembling and assembling in winter additionally: cotton jacket with insulating lining - wearing period is 30 months; cotton trousers - wearing period is 30 months.

The issued personal protective equipment should be stored in a dressing room in a closet, washed and repaired in the prescribed manner.

1.11. The main hazardous and harmful production factors under certain circumstances can be:

  • elements of production equipment;
  • details;
  • faulty working tools, fixtures and equipment;
  • electric current;
  • electrical equipment or wiring;
  • increased dustiness of the air;
  • increased noise level.

2. Safety requirements before starting work

2.1. Make sure that it is in good condition and put on overalls, remove your hair under a beret or cap.

2.2. Check your workplace, it should be evenly lit (no glare), not cluttered with foreign objects.

2.3. Check the serviceability of tools and fixtures for the assembly of metal structures:

  • electric portable tool;
  • the handle of a percussion instrument (hammer, etc.) must be oval in cross section and straight;
  • the surface of the hammer head must be convex, smooth, not beveled, without burrs;
  • the spindle of a hand tool with a pointed working end (files, screwdrivers, etc.) must be securely fixed in a smooth, smoothly cleaned handle, which, for greater strength, must be pulled together at both ends with metal bandage rings;
  • screwdrivers must be with non-curved rods, as the blade may slip off the head of the screw or screw and injure hands;
  • wrenches must correspond to the sizes of bolts and nuts, the jaws of wrenches must have strictly parallel jaws, the distance between which must correspond to the standard size indicated on the key;
  • socket and box wrenches must not move in the connected moving parts.

3. Safety requirements during work

3.1. When assembling and welding metal structures, systematically ventilate the room. If proper air ventilation of the working area is not ensured, use appropriate personal respiratory protection equipment.

3.2. Placement of materials, tools, technological equipment within the working area should not obstruct passages to workplaces.

3.3. The parts used are located on the left, and the tool necessary for their installation is on the right. All items must be placed within the zone of maximum reach of the worker's hands, his hands must be free from performing supporting movements (these functions must be performed by devices).

3.4. Performing operations for the assembly of metal structures, observe the provisions of the technological map.

3.5. When assembling metal structures, fire safety rules must be observed

3.7. Work with a chisel to carry out in protective glasses.

3.8. When using a portable power tool (drill, grinder, etc.), use special 42 V electrical wiring and observe the following safety requirements:

  • before switching on, make sure that the case is grounded and the wires are properly insulated;
  • check the tool at idle;
  • at a voltage of more than 42 V, use personal protective equipment (dielectric gloves, rugs);
  • turn off the tool when you stop working.

3.9. When using an electric drill, the objects to be drilled must be securely fastened. Do not touch the rotating cutting tool with your hands.

3.10. Do not remove shavings or sawdust by hand while the tool is running. Chips and sawdust must be removed after the power tool has completely stopped with special hooks or brushes.

3.11. Work with a drill no more than 2/3 of the working day. In accordance with sanitary standards, provide 10-15 minute breaks after each hour of work.

3.12. Wear rubber gloves and rubber mats when working with power tools to protect against electric shock.

3.13. For safety reasons, monitor the integrity of the insulation, prevent mechanical damage to the cable.

3.14. Switch off the power tool during work breaks. Do not connect the power tool to the mains without a special safety plug. This must be done by an electrician.

3.15. If the power tool suddenly stops, it must be turned off by the switch.

3.16. Persons working with power tools must not disassemble or repair the tool, cable, plug connections, or other parts themselves.

3.17. When removing or installing parts and assemblies on the machine, use the tools and devices provided for this type of work.

3.18. When processing blanks on disk pipe-cutting machines, locksmiths must comply with the following requirements:

  • work only with protective screens and goggles;
  • clean, repair, replace the working tool and fill the workpiece only after the machine has completely stopped;
  • monitor the serviceability of starting and braking devices and grounding.

3.19. When working together with a welder, locksmiths are required to:

  • use protective goggles;
  • do not use fire near the generator and do not allow oil or grease to contaminate oxygen cylinders, protect them from impacts and sudden shocks.
  • move cylinders on stretchers or trolleys intended for this purpose.

4. Safety requirements in emergency situations

4.1. In emergency situations, suspend work, leave the danger zone, and if necessary, remove workers nearby. If there is a danger of an accident, take measures to prevent it (stop the equipment or the corresponding mechanism, protect the danger zone).

Report the incident to the supervisor.

4.2. In the event of a fire, immediately call the fire brigade by phone 01, remove people and, if possible, combustible substances to a safe place, start extinguishing the fire with the available primary fire extinguishing equipment. Report the fire to management.

4.3. Provide first aid to the injured in case of injury and call an ambulance, notify the work manager.

5. Safety requirements at the end of work

5.1. Tidy up your workspace. Remove tools and fixtures in the place provided for them.

5.2. Check the workplace after installing the door for fire safety.

5.3. Take off overalls, put them in a closet, wash your hands and face with soap, take a shower if possible, and do not use chemicals for washing.

Electric tug RSD-E Tug 2513 06.08.2019
