The obligations of employees and employers in the field of labor protection are enshrined in Art. 212, 214 of the Labor Code of the Russian Federation. They reflect the provisions of Sec. IV of the ILO Convention No. 155 (1981) "On Occupational Safety and Health and the Working Environment", obliging to create working conditions that prevent accidents and damage to the health of an employee, to minimize the likelihood of damage to an employee's health, taking into account the capabilities of modern technology. Thus, at the present stage, the employer is obliged, when organizing the labor process, to exclude production factors that can have an adverse effect on the health of the employee, or to reduce the levels of their impact on the employee to the values of socially acceptable risk.

Depending on the orientation in the field of ensuring labor protection, all the obligations of the employer can be divided into the following Group:

  • to prevent the adverse impact on the employee of production factors;
  • on the selection of workers to perform specific types of work, taking into account their state of health and gender and age characteristics;
  • on training and instructing employees in safe methods of performing work;
  • on the organization of internal production control of the state of working conditions and the fulfillment by the employee of labor protection standards;
  • organization and participation in the investigation of accidents;
  • on compensation for damage to the health of an employee caused as a result of exposure to production factors;
  • on compulsory insurance of employees against industrial accidents and occupational diseases;
  • on organizing control over the level of production factors, providing the employee with information about working conditions, the risk of damage to health and the amount of compensation for unfavorable working conditions;
  • to ensure the regime of work and rest of employees in accordance with the law, etc.

The obligations of the employer in the field of labor protection correspond to the corresponding obligations of the employee. Thus, the obligation of the employer to conduct training in safe working methods, briefing on labor protection, internship at the workplace and testing knowledge of labor protection requirements corresponds to the obligation of the employee to undergo this training, instruction, internship, certification.

The employee also bears other obligations: to comply with labor protection requirements; immediately notify your immediate or superior manager about any situation that threatens the life and health of people, about every accident that occurs at work, or about the deterioration of your health, including the manifestation of signs of an acute occupational disease (poisoning), undergo mandatory medical examinations (surveys).

Artificial leather for touch emulation 15.04.2024

In a modern technology world where distance is becoming increasingly commonplace, maintaining connection and a sense of closeness is important. Recent developments in artificial skin by German scientists from Saarland University represent a new era in virtual interactions. German researchers from Saarland University have developed ultra-thin films that can transmit the sensation of touch over a distance. This cutting-edge technology provides new opportunities for virtual communication, especially for those who find themselves far from their loved ones. The ultra-thin films developed by the researchers, just 50 micrometers thick, can be integrated into textiles and worn like a second skin. These films act as sensors that recognize tactile signals from mom or dad, and as actuators that transmit these movements to the baby. Parents' touch to the fabric activates sensors that react to pressure and deform the ultra-thin film. This ... >>

The attractiveness of caring men 14.04.2024

The stereotype that women prefer "bad boys" has long been widespread. However, recent research conducted by British scientists from Monash University offers a new perspective on this issue. They looked at how women responded to men's emotional responsibility and willingness to help others. The study's findings could change our understanding of what makes men attractive to women. A study conducted by scientists from Monash University leads to new findings about men's attractiveness to women. In the experiment, women were shown photographs of men with brief stories about their behavior in various situations, including their reaction to an encounter with a homeless person. Some of the men ignored the homeless man, while others helped him, such as buying him food. A study found that men who showed empathy and kindness were more attractive to women compared to men who showed empathy and kindness. ... >>

Yeast fungi will be sent into outer space 25.05.2019

The National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) plans to send living organisms into deep space next year. NASA employees are working on a 14 kg BioSentinel spacecraft that will send two types of yeast cells into orbit around the Sun, one more resistant to radiation than the other.

BioSentinel and 12 other microsatellites are scheduled to be launched into orbit in mid-2020 by the Space Launch System (SLS) launch vehicle as part of the Artemis 1 research program as a payload. Scientific information from it, as expected, will be received over a period of 9-12 months. During the entire flight, scientists will monitor the reproduction of yeast fungi and at the same time monitor the condition of exactly the same samples located on the International Space Station, where the radiation level is much lower than in outer space.

In addition, the nuclear physics laboratory in Brookhaven, New York, will expose yeast samples to very high levels of radiation, Space.com reported.

"It is important that the process of DNA repair in yeast fungi is in many ways similar to the same processes in the human body," Space.com cited the opinion of NASA experts. "The results of research on BioSentinel will play a very important role in assessing the effects of radiation exposure on organisms."

The SLS will launch the Orion manned spacecraft, which is currently under development. It is planned that it will make its first flight without a crew using a new carrier in 2020: it will fly around the Moon and return to Earth. Among the microsatellites that are expected to be launched into orbit during the first launch of the launch vehicle are Lunar Flashlight and Lunar IceCube, designed to search for traces of water ice on the surface of the Moon, as well as a microsatellite with a solar sail, which will be directed to one of the converging with Earth asteroids.
