I. General Provisions

The assistant of the department belongs to the category of specialists.
A person who has higher education in the profile of the department or higher education and experience of practical work in the profile of the department for at least two years and has the ability for scientific and pedagogical work is appointed to the position of assistant of the department.
The assistant of the department must know:

Ukrainian legislation;
pedagogy, pedagogical psychology;
basics of physiology, hygiene;
theory and methods of educational systems management;
planning and organization of all types of training sessions and academic work;
organization of methodical, scientific and methodological work;
organization of scientific research;
the current state of the field of knowledge in supervised disciplines;
culture of communication and work ethics.

In his work, the assistant is guided by:

the legislation of Ukraine;
the charter of the university;
collective agreement;
university internal regulations;
regulations on the faculty of the university;
orders of the rector;
orders, instructions of the vice-rector for academic work and other normative and administrative acts of the university administration;
this Job Description.

The assistant reports directly to the head of the department.
Substitution of the post of assistant of the department is carried out under an employment contract concluded for a period of up to five years. The conclusion of an employment contract is preceded by competitive selection. The procedure for filling this position is determined by the Regulations on the procedure for filling positions of scientific and pedagogical workers at the university.

II. Official duties

The assistant of the department is obliged:

Organize and conduct educational and methodological work on certain types of training sessions, except for lectures.
Participate in scientific and research work in one of the scientific areas of the department.
Under the guidance of a professor, associate professor or senior lecturer, develop or take part in the development of methodological manuals for the types of training sessions and educational work.
Take part in the organization and management of the research work of students.
Take part in educational work among students.
Participate in career guidance work with students.
To take part in the development and implementation of measures to strengthen, develop and improve the material and technical base of the educational process, equipping educational laboratories.
Comply with the rules on labor protection, industrial sanitation and fire safety.
Monitor students' compliance with the rules on labor protection, industrial sanitation and fire safety during training sessions.
Fulfill the instructions of the curator of the discipline (professor, associate professor, senior lecturer) regarding the planning, organization, conduct and methodological support of certain types of training sessions and the entire discipline as a whole.
Timely notify the leadership of the department, the curator of the discipline about the impossibility of fulfilling the educational work stipulated by the contract and the schedule of training sessions.
Transfer to the ownership of the university scientific and methodological developments prepared in the framework of the performance of their official duties.

III. Rights

The assistant of the department has the right:

Elect and be elected to the Academic Councils of the university, faculty (institute).
Make proposals to the head of the department on adjusting the work plan of the department, work programs and other educational documentation of the department with their subsequent approval in the prescribed manner.
Submit for consideration by the department proposals for improving the educational, methodological, scientific and methodological, research work of the department.
Participate in research work funded by borrowed funds from enterprises or organizations on a part-time basis.
Present educational material according to your own methods, choose methods and means of teaching, choose topics for scientific research and conduct them using your own methods.
To use free of charge the services of the library, information funds, educational and scientific divisions, as well as the services of social, medical and other structural divisions of the university.
In the prescribed manner, appeal against orders, orders of the head of the department, the dean of the faculty (director of the institute) and other organizational and administrative acts of the university administration.

IV. A responsibility

The Department Assistant is responsible for:

Low professional level of organization and conduct of educational and educational-methodical work by types of training sessions of the taught discipline.
Conducting training sessions. smaller volume than planned in the work program for the discipline.
Low requirements for the quality of student training for certain types of training sessions.
For violation or non-compliance with the procedure for conducting training sessions, established by the approved schedule of training sessions.
Violation of academic freedoms and students' rights.
Violation of the rules on labor protection and industrial sanitation.
Inadequate provision of fire safety and implementation of fire-fighting measures in assigned premises.
Failure to provide safe working conditions for students during training sessions.
Failure to fulfill the obligations stipulated by the Charter of the University, current legal acts and the Job Description.
Other violations provided for by the Labor Code of Ukraine in the process of performing their official duties.

V. Relationships

The assistant accepts for execution the instructions of the rector, expressed orally or in writing.

The assistant of the department accepts for execution the instructions of the first vice-rector of the university, the first vice-rector for academic work of the vice-rectors for academic and scientific work, expressed in oral or written form and directly addressed to him, as well as the instructions of the rector, transmitted through assistants, having previously notified the head of the department and getting permission to execute.
The assistant of the department accepts for execution assignments that are not related to his direct official duties, other persons, the administration of the university, faculty (institute), not listed in clause 5.1. and clause 5.2. only if there is a resolution or an oral order from his immediate supervisor (head of the department).
The assistant of the department, in agreement with the head of the department, can give orders to students only in the specialty for which this department graduates specialists.
The assistant of the department, in agreement with the head of the department, can give instructions to educational support and other staff of the department on the organization and conduct of certain types of training sessions.
