I. General Provisions

  1. The main goals and objectives of the program editor (hereinafter referred to as the editor) are:
  • communication with the press services of official authorities, enterprises and commercial organizations in order to collect information;
  • organizing the collection of official information;
  • participation in the preparation of the program;
  • hosting the program, as well as live.
  1. The activities of the editor should be aimed at improving the quality of the content of the TV program.
  2. In his work, the editor is guided by:
  • Laws of Ukraine;
  • the Law "On Mass Media";
  • The Articles of Association of the Company;
  • internal labor regulations;
  • orders of the general director and instructions of the head of the department;
  • this Job Description.
  1. The editor is hired and dismissed (in accordance with the current labor legislation and labor contract) by order of the General Director of the TV Company in agreement with the head of the department.
  2. The editor reports directly to the head of the department.
  3. Persons with at least one year of experience in television are accepted for the position of editor of the information service.
  4. When evaluating the quality of work and deciding on the suitability of his position, it is taken into account that he must have the following qualities: literacy, awareness, communication skills, ability to work in a team, delicacy in communicating with the team.
  5. The results of the editor's work are evaluated by the head of the department and reported to the management of the TV Company to decide on the further stay of the employee in this position.

II. Official duties

  1. The editor collects information on a daily basis:
  • controls the receipt of faxes and telephone calls;
  • collects, analyzes and processes information using messages from press services, news agencies, newspapers, magazines, TV programs, etc.;
  • maintains constant contacts with authorities, press services, first responders and other newsmakers.
  1. Collects and prepares background information on program topics.
  2. The editor is obliged to report the collected information to the head of the department during the day.

III. Rights

The editor has the right:

  1. Make suggestions to improve the work of the program department.
  2. Gets acquainted with the draft decisions of the management of the TV Company concerning its activities.
  3. Submit proposals for the improvement of the work related to the duties provided for in this instruction for consideration by the management of the TV Company.
  4. Within the limits of its competence, inform the immediate supervisor of all shortcomings identified in the course of activities and make proposals for their elimination.
  5. Involve specialists of all services in solving the tasks assigned to him.
  6. Request personally or on behalf of the management of the TV Company from the heads of services and specialists information and documents necessary for the performance of official duties.
  7. Require the management of the TV Company to assist in the performance of their duties.

IV. A responsibility

The Program Editor is responsible for:

  1. For the accuracy of the information received.
  2. For correctness in communication with authorities and citizens.
  3. For the safety of accountable documents.
  4. For improper performance or non-performance of their official duties provided for by this Job Description within the limits determined by the current labor legislation of Ukraine.
  5. For an offense committed in the course of carrying out their activities - within the limits determined by the current administrative, criminal and civil legislation of Ukraine.
  6. For causing material damage - within the limits determined by the current labor and civil legislation of Ukraine.
