I. General Provisions

  1. Communications electrician belongs to the category of specialists.
  2. A person who has a secondary vocational education without presenting requirements for work experience (at least 2 years of work experience in the position of an electromechanic) is appointed to the position of a communication electromechanic.
  3. Appointment to the position and dismissal from it is carried out by order of the director of the organization on the proposal of _______.
  4. The communications electrician must know:
  • fundamentals of telegraphy, schematic diagrams of serviced equipment and apparatus;
  • power transmission schemes and signaling schemes;
  • measurement and testing of channels and wires;
  • switching principles and protection devices;
  • general information about air and cable communication lines;
  • instructions for the current repair and prevention of relays, finders, keys;
  • test methods and adjustments of apparatus and equipment;
  • main types of damage and ways to eliminate them;
  • the procedure for drawing up schematic diagrams for new prototypes of devices and equipment, automation and communication facilities;
  • rules for the technical operation of equipment;
  • safety and fire protection regulations.
  1. The communication electromechanic reports directly to _______.
  2. During the absence of an electrician (vacation, illness, etc.), his duties are performed by a person appointed in the prescribed manner. This person is responsible for the proper performance of the duties assigned to him.

II. Official duties

Communication electromechanic:

  1. Provides trouble-free and reliable operation of communication devices.
  2. It studies the operating conditions of devices, identifies the causes of premature wear, and takes measures to prevent and eliminate them.
  3. Controls the correct operation of communication devices, etc.
  4. Carries out daily preventive maintenance and checks of serviced equipment, instruments and apparatus.
  5. Detects damage in the serviced equipment and eliminates them.
  6. It replaces faulty equipment and apparatus, blocks it, regulates faulty telegraph and telephone relays, checks and terminates cords, etc.
  7. Carries out the assembly and adjustment of individual units of start-stop devices.
  8. Carries out scheduled preventive maintenance of switching devices TT, AT, PS (keys, finders, cords, etc.), performs work on the installation of equipment (terminal points AT, PS, ventilation and electrical installations).
  9. Performs current repairs and all types of preventive maintenance in serviced equipment and equipment.

III. Rights

The communications electrician has the right to:

  1. Get acquainted with the draft decisions of the management of the organization relating to its activities.
  2. On issues within its competence, submit proposals for the management of the organization to improve the activities of the organization and improve the forms and methods of work; options for eliminating shortcomings in the organization's activities.
  3. To request personally or on behalf of his immediate supervisor from the heads of departments of the organization and specialists information and documents necessary for the performance of his duties.
  4. Involve specialists from all (individual) structural divisions in solving the tasks assigned to him (if this is provided for by the regulations on structural divisions, if not, then with the permission of the management).
  5. Require the management of the organization to assist in the performance of his duties and rights.

IV. A responsibility

The communications electrician is responsible for:

  1. For improper performance or non-performance of their official duties provided for by this Job Description - within the limits determined by the current labor legislation of Ukraine.
  2. For offenses committed in the course of carrying out their activities - within the limits determined by the current administrative, criminal and civil legislation of Ukraine.
  3. For causing material damage - within the limits determined by the current labor and civil legislation of Ukraine.

Diamond quantum computer 12.04.2012

Scientists from the University of Southern California have created a diamond-based quantum computer, overcoming the problem of decoherence - "noise", which is one of the main technical obstacles to the creation of quantum computers.

Modern quantum computers are usually very small and cannot yet compete in speed with traditional computers. An experiment by American scientists shows the viability of solid-state quantum computers, which, unlike modern liquid-based prototypes, can be scaled and applied in practice. Scientists have created a diamond quantum computer with two quantum bits, the so-called qubits. Unlike traditional bits, which work with the states "1" or "0", a quantum computer can work with both "1" and "0" or both states at the same time. This is called the superposition state and allows quantum computers to perform millions of calculations at the same time.

Like all diamonds, the diamond used in the experiment had impurities. In jewelry, the more impurities, the less valuable the diamond, as this reduces its brilliance and transparency. However, for a quantum computer, impurities, on the contrary, are useful. Thus, the spin of the nitrogen nucleus inside the diamond became the first qubit, and the electron became the second. Electrons are smaller than nuclei and perform calculations much faster, but they are also subject to faster decoherence. A qubit based on a nucleus (which is larger than an electron) is much more stable, albeit slower. Thanks to the use of the nucleus as a qubit, the decoherence time was stretched to milliseconds, which is enough for reliable calculations.

Although solid-state computing systems have existed before, American scientists for the first time managed to “embed” decoherence protection into it and take an important step towards the use of quantum computers. The team of researchers proved that their system really works in quantum mode and almost completely corresponds to Grover's algorithm.
