I. General Provisions

The job description defines the job duties, powers and responsibilities, as well as the working conditions for the layout designer of the structural unit (hereinafter referred to as the Unit).
The layout designer is appointed to the position and dismissed from the position in accordance with the current labor legislation by order of the general director of the company.
The Layout Designer reports to the Production Editor of the Division.
During the period of temporary absence of the layout designer, his duties are performed by a person appointed in the prescribed manner. This person acquires the relevant rights and is responsible for the performance of these duties.

II. In his work he is guided and must know

Fundamentals and technology of printing production.
Principles of operation of the main and auxiliary equipment and methods of working on it.
Current standards and specifications, methods of registration of various publications.
Fundamentals of print design.
Technical rules for marking originals, design elements.
Technical rules and methods of typesetting, editing and typesetting.
Typographic measurement system, proof marks and typefaces.
Used software for typing and layout.
Methods for obtaining proof copies on printers, information from the database and outputting information over the network and to external media.
Rules for preparing original layouts.
Standards, specifications, instructions and other regulatory documents for the preparation and publication of newspapers, printed publications.
Rules and regulations of labor protection, safety and fire protection.
Rules for the use of office equipment and PC.
Internal labor regulations.

III. Official duties

The layout designer must:

Prepare equipment for operation.
Enter set parameters, enter graphic elements.
Perform layout of text containing font and non-font highlights, fonts of various fonts and alphabets. And also, special terminology and special signs in accordance with the standards adopted in printing and publishing.
Make up tables, create graphic elements of varying degrees of complexity, enter them; carry out prototyping of the technical design of publications that are complex in terms of the construction of pages (tables, figures, photographs, etc.).
Print text on a printer, including output films.
Make corrections to the text based on the comments of the producing editor.
Write files to external storage media.
To carry out timely and high-quality execution of artistic and design work.
Create a graphic part of the original layouts of advertisements and other materials and documents.
Create a graphic part of commercial advertising designed to present advertising opportunities to potential advertisers.
Develop projects for the artistic and technical design of publications based on information received from the immediate supervisor.
Advise your immediate supervisor on the principles and options for solving design problems.
Coordinate sketches (projects) with the immediate supervisor and prepare the final layouts.
Make corrections to projects of artistic and technical design at the direction of the publisher or editor-in-chief.
Monitor the compliance of the produced original layouts of advertisements and graphic elements of the original layouts with the requirements of the Law on Advertising, the requirements of the customer, the responsible employee of the advertising service, internal requirements existing in the organization, quality requirements.
Create and transfer plans, progress reports and other documents to the immediate supervisor and accept the necessary documents from him.
Carry out prepress preparation of original layouts in accordance with the technological requirements of printing production.
Carry out design work in the premises of the organization.
Interact with the system administrator in order to maintain computer equipment in working condition and ensure the modernization of hardware and software.
Maintain a positive morale in the office. Show mutual assistance, responsibility, trust, support, optimism.
Carry out separate official assignments of the immediate supervisor.
Follow the rules of the labor schedule adopted by the company.

IV. Official powers

The layout designer has the right to:

Request from employees and managers of the Unit information and documents necessary for the performance of their duties.
Get acquainted with the documents that define the rights and obligations of the position held, the criteria for assessing the quality of performance of official duties.
Submit proposals for improvement of the work related to the responsibilities provided for in this instruction for consideration by the management.

V. Official responsibility

The layout designer is responsible for:

For non-fulfillment or improper fulfillment of their official duties provided for by this instruction - within the limits established by the current labor legislation of Ukraine.
For failure to perform official duties.
For violation of the company's internal regulations.
For violation of business ethics.
For misuse of computer technology.
For offenses committed in the course of their activities, established by the current legislation of Ukraine.
For providing false information to management.
For careless attitude to record keeping.

VI. Working conditions

The mode of work of the layout designer is determined in accordance with the Internal Labor Regulations established by the company.
The layout designer may go on business (local and regional) business trips due to production needs.

Microcontrollers Microchip PIC18F-Q41 20.11.2020

The American manufacturer Microchip has released a new series of microcontrollers based on the PIC core. For the first time, devices of the PIC18 line received an operational amplifier in low-pin packages.

PIC18F-Q41 is a new series of controllers designed to improve the accuracy of working with an analog signal, and therefore - developed on the basis of a series of sensors. To accomplish this task, the devices are equipped with an operational amplifier, a 12-bit ADC with a post-computer (averaging, low-pass filtering, comparison with a threshold, and other functions), two 8-bit DACs, two comparators, and a reference voltage shaper.

In total, there are six devices in the family with a memory capacity of 16, 32 and 64 kB in packages with 14 and 20 pins.

Simultaneously with the Q41 series, the Q40 series was released, which differs only in the absence of an operational amplifier in the periphery. Memory capacity and package types are the same as Q41 series.

Each series has developed its own debug board: PIC18F16Q40 Curiosity Nano Evaluation Kit, PIC18F16Q41 Curiosity Nano Evaluation Kit.
