When used in production labor of women and adolescents it is necessary to take into account the anatomical and physiological features of their body.

In adolescence, there is an accelerated growth of the bones of the skeleton and muscles, especially the limbs, and at the same time - weakness of the ligamentous apparatus, faster muscle fatigue, deviations in the development of the respiratory organs and the gastrointestinal tract, imperfection of the processes of excitation and inhibition in the central nervous system. Therefore, in this case, professional selection and orientation are important, based on medical indicators and on an accurate clarification of the requirements of the labor process to the degree of functional stress of various physiological systems.

For persons aged 16-18, a reduced 36-hour work week has been established. The use of labor of adolescents in carrying heavy loads is limited: the mass of the transferred load should not exceed 4,1 kg.

Pronounced gender differences in the intensity of physiological functions, lower working capacity and labor productivity, the development of uncompensated fatigue at an earlier time, a significant frequency of violations in the implementation of specific functions are the basis for including gender gradations in the classification of the severity and intensity of labor. These gradations have been established for the effects of microclimate, chemicals, the effects of noise and vibration.

Often, the anatomical and physiological characteristics of women in an unsatisfactory working environment can contribute to the occurrence of gynecological diseases and affect the reproductive function of women. For working women, they regulate the limits for carrying and moving goods, introduce more favorable work and rest regimes, limit the use of women's labor at night, and establish for them a mode of work with part-time work or part-time work week.

The maximum weight of the load lifted and moved by women, subject to the alternation of this work with other types of work up to 2 times per hour, is 10 kg, and with constant lifting and moving of weights during the work shift - 7 kg.

Since the woman's body is especially vulnerable during pregnancy, there is a need to transfer women for a certain time to work that is not associated with the danger of exposure to difficult and harmful working conditions.

For all employees in enterprises, the following must be observed: temperature, relative humidity, air velocity, the nature of clothing, the intensity of work performed and the nature of heat generation in the workroom, taking into account the physiological characteristics of a person.

Artificial leather for touch emulation 15.04.2024

In a modern technology world where distance is becoming increasingly commonplace, maintaining connection and a sense of closeness is important. Recent developments in artificial skin by German scientists from Saarland University represent a new era in virtual interactions. German researchers from Saarland University have developed ultra-thin films that can transmit the sensation of touch over a distance. This cutting-edge technology provides new opportunities for virtual communication, especially for those who find themselves far from their loved ones. The ultra-thin films developed by the researchers, just 50 micrometers thick, can be integrated into textiles and worn like a second skin. These films act as sensors that recognize tactile signals from mom or dad, and as actuators that transmit these movements to the baby. Parents' touch to the fabric activates sensors that react to pressure and deform the ultra-thin film. This ... >>

Petgugu Global cat litter 15.04.2024

Taking care of pets can often be a challenge, especially when it comes to keeping your home clean. A new interesting solution from the Petgugu Global startup has been presented, which will make life easier for cat owners and help them keep their home perfectly clean and tidy. Startup Petgugu Global has unveiled a unique cat toilet that can automatically flush feces, keeping your home clean and fresh. This innovative device is equipped with various smart sensors that monitor your pet's toilet activity and activate to automatically clean after use. The device connects to the sewer system and ensures efficient waste removal without the need for intervention from the owner. Additionally, the toilet has a large flushable storage capacity, making it ideal for multi-cat households. The Petgugu cat litter bowl is designed for use with water-soluble litters and offers a range of additional ... >>

The attractiveness of caring men 14.04.2024

The stereotype that women prefer "bad boys" has long been widespread. However, recent research conducted by British scientists from Monash University offers a new perspective on this issue. They looked at how women responded to men's emotional responsibility and willingness to help others. The study's findings could change our understanding of what makes men attractive to women. A study conducted by scientists from Monash University leads to new findings about men's attractiveness to women. In the experiment, women were shown photographs of men with brief stories about their behavior in various situations, including their reaction to an encounter with a homeless person. Some of the men ignored the homeless man, while others helped him, such as buying him food. A study found that men who showed empathy and kindness were more attractive to women compared to men who showed empathy and kindness. ... >>

Chamomile train 06.07.2015

The history of steam locomotives has more than two centuries, and in our time it is unlikely that anyone would come up with the idea to engage in steam traction. Unless that person is Ozgur Sahin, assistant professor of biology and physics at Columbia University in New York. He once discovered that the contraction and swelling of bacterial spores with changes in humidity could be used to move other objects. Moreover, considering the size of the spores, the energy they produce exceeds the energy of some materials that are used to move objects in the macrocosm.

With his colleagues in the lab, informally called Extreme Bio or "Extreme Biology", Sahin began to study the question of whether the energy of swelling spores could be used to propel microscopic machines with the power of moist air. It turned out that it is possible if you figure out how to collect disputes into a single work team. To do this, the scientists used a flexible tape on which they fixed the spores. Under the influence of dry air, the spores were reduced, and the tape, accordingly, was compressed. Under the influence of moist air, the tape straightened out like an artificial muscle.

To enhance the effect, the researchers came up with a device where the pieces of tape were arranged in a row inside a plastic container, on top of which were louvres. When water was poured into the container, it evaporated, the air became humid, the ribbon lengthened, and the petals opened. Humid air came out, the pores narrowed, the tape contracted, the blinds closed. The air below them became moist again, and the process repeated, demonstrating the motive power of the blinds.

The scientists called the device an "evaporation piston," attached it to a generator, and caused a miniature light bulb to light up. After that, they developed the idea and created a "humidity mill" that used a plastic wheel covered in a ribbon of spores. One half of the wheel was in a humid atmosphere, and the other half was in dry air. Thus, some of the pores swelled, and some did not, which caused a difference in weight in the wheel. As a result, it began to rotate, creating a constant source of energy. Such an engine is still far from a steam locomotive, although, given the huge number of reservoirs on Earth, one can imagine giant "steam" turbines based on this principle.
