Sexually transmitted diseases - This is a group of infectious diseases that are united on the basis of the transmission of the pathogen mainly through sexual contact. Such diseases include: syphilis, gonorrhea, soft chancre, inguinal lymphogranulomatosis and venereal granuloma. The causative agents of sexually transmitted diseases are pathogenic microorganisms that penetrate the human body through the smallest, sometimes imperceptible damage to the surface layer of the skin and mucous membranes.

The source of venereal disease is a sick person, and infection occurs, as a rule, during sexual intercourse. A household way of infection is also possible through kisses, some things that the patient used. All sexually transmitted diseases begin with a latent period, which lasts from 2 days to 4 weeks from the moment of infection, depending on the type of infection and the state of the body, after which the first signs of the disease appear.

Venereal diseases are ubiquitous and are a serious social and moral problem of our time. The main reason for the spread of venereal diseases is extramarital promiscuity due to social and moral reasons.

A person's attitude to sexual life is largely shaped by his immediate environment, which includes parents and friends, including the media. Therefore, one of the preventive means of venereal diseases is sanitary and educational work, which is aimed not only at the early detection and treatment of patients, but also at preventing the spread of venereal diseases. To this end, a wide network of dermatovenerological dispensaries has been created, which has qualified specialists and modern means of preventing, diagnosing and treating venereal diseases.

The criminal law provides for punishment for the deliberate spread of these diseases with imprisonment for up to 3 years or corrective labor for up to 2 years, it also provides for punishment for evading treatment and for creating conditions that endanger other persons; the measure of responsibility for infecting two or more persons, as well as minors, has been increased.

An important condition for personal prevention is the exclusion of casual sex. If you suspect the possibility of contracting a venereal disease, you should, in the first two hours after sexual intercourse, go to a prophylactic center at a skin and venereal dispensary, where the necessary assistance will be provided to prevent the disease.

A New Way to Control and Manipulate Optical Signals 05.05.2024

The modern world of science and technology is developing rapidly, and every day new methods and technologies appear that open up new prospects for us in various fields. One such innovation is the development by German scientists of a new way to control optical signals, which could lead to significant progress in the field of photonics. Recent research has allowed German scientists to create a tunable waveplate inside a fused silica waveguide. This method, based on the use of a liquid crystal layer, allows one to effectively change the polarization of light passing through a waveguide. This technological breakthrough opens up new prospects for the development of compact and efficient photonic devices capable of processing large volumes of data. The electro-optical control of polarization provided by the new method could provide the basis for a new class of integrated photonic devices. This opens up great opportunities for ... >>

Primium Seneca keyboard 05.05.2024

Keyboards are an integral part of our daily computer work. However, one of the main problems that users face is noise, especially in the case of premium models. But with the new Seneca keyboard from Norbauer & Co, that may change. Seneca is not just a keyboard, it is the result of five years of development work to create the ideal device. Every aspect of this keyboard, from acoustic properties to mechanical characteristics, has been carefully considered and balanced. One of the key features of Seneca is its silent stabilizers, which solve the noise problem common to many keyboards. In addition, the keyboard supports various key widths, making it convenient for any user. Although Seneca is not yet available for purchase, it is scheduled for release in late summer. Norbauer & Co's Seneca represents new standards in keyboard design. Her ... >>

The world's tallest astronomical observatory opened 04.05.2024

Exploring space and its mysteries is a task that attracts the attention of astronomers from all over the world. In the fresh air of the high mountains, far from city light pollution, the stars and planets reveal their secrets with greater clarity. A new page is opening in the history of astronomy with the opening of the world's highest astronomical observatory - the Atacama Observatory of the University of Tokyo. The Atacama Observatory, located at an altitude of 5640 meters above sea level, opens up new opportunities for astronomers in the study of space. This site has become the highest location for a ground-based telescope, providing researchers with a unique tool for studying infrared waves in the Universe. Although the high altitude location provides clearer skies and less interference from the atmosphere, building an observatory on a high mountain poses enormous difficulties and challenges. However, despite the difficulties, the new observatory opens up broad research prospects for astronomers. ... >>

Magnetic glue 10.03.2007

German chemists have created a glue whose properties are subject to a magnetic field.

In a colloidal solution of silicon dioxide (liquid glass, ordinary office glue), they mixed dusty iron oxide. The parts to be glued are exposed to a high-frequency alternating magnetic field, the iron oxide particles are heated, and the glue immediately sets.

If the connection needs to be glued, it is subjected to the same, but more powerful, alternating magnetic field, the glue is very hot, and the connection breaks up.

The only drawback of the new adhesive is that it is not suitable for electrically conductive materials.
