Steam engine without lubrication and cooling. Tips for a modeler

The engine developed by me can be installed on any vehicles. Unlike an internal combustion engine, a steam engine provides power to the wheels at any speed, so there is no need for a gearbox or clutch. The only and significant drawback of the steam engine is the leakage of oil into the steam system. The German firm Enginion has received $60 million to develop such a lubricationless machine, and if built, the cost will be high, as most of the parts will be from "exotic" materials that do not require lubrication, such as carbon fiber ceramics.

Mine runs on low-grade fuel without lubrication and cooling, and all parts and assemblies are made of ordinary metal.

It consists of a body 1, a hollow element 2, which changed its size depending on the pressure of the working fluid entering it, a movable element 3. capable of moving relative to the body when the dimensions of the hollow element change, while the latter is connected to the working fluid supply system, for example, pipeline 4 , and a hollow element with a movable element 3. The hollow element has an outlet valve 5 held closed (Fig. 1).

Steam engine without lubrication and cooling

The essence of the invention lies in the fact that the hollow element is made of metal in the form of a tubular structure - a coil of considerable length. When a working fluid, for example steam, enters, it expands and performs useful work, moving the piston 3 with the rod 6. Having reached the wall of the housing 1, the exhaust valve opens from pressure (Fig. 2), releasing steam from the hollow element, returns to its original position, and the valve 5 is closed by a spring. Then the pressure inside the hollow element rises, it expands and the cycle repeats.

A New Way to Control and Manipulate Optical Signals 05.05.2024

The modern world of science and technology is developing rapidly, and every day new methods and technologies appear that open up new prospects for us in various fields. One such innovation is the development by German scientists of a new way to control optical signals, which could lead to significant progress in the field of photonics. Recent research has allowed German scientists to create a tunable waveplate inside a fused silica waveguide. This method, based on the use of a liquid crystal layer, allows one to effectively change the polarization of light passing through a waveguide. This technological breakthrough opens up new prospects for the development of compact and efficient photonic devices capable of processing large volumes of data. The electro-optical control of polarization provided by the new method could provide the basis for a new class of integrated photonic devices. This opens up great opportunities for ... >>

Primium Seneca keyboard 05.05.2024

Keyboards are an integral part of our daily computer work. However, one of the main problems that users face is noise, especially in the case of premium models. But with the new Seneca keyboard from Norbauer & Co, that may change. Seneca is not just a keyboard, it is the result of five years of development work to create the ideal device. Every aspect of this keyboard, from acoustic properties to mechanical characteristics, has been carefully considered and balanced. One of the key features of Seneca is its silent stabilizers, which solve the noise problem common to many keyboards. In addition, the keyboard supports various key widths, making it convenient for any user. Although Seneca is not yet available for purchase, it is scheduled for release in late summer. Norbauer & Co's Seneca represents new standards in keyboard design. Her ... >>

The world's tallest astronomical observatory opened 04.05.2024

Exploring space and its mysteries is a task that attracts the attention of astronomers from all over the world. In the fresh air of the high mountains, far from city light pollution, the stars and planets reveal their secrets with greater clarity. A new page is opening in the history of astronomy with the opening of the world's highest astronomical observatory - the Atacama Observatory of the University of Tokyo. The Atacama Observatory, located at an altitude of 5640 meters above sea level, opens up new opportunities for astronomers in the study of space. This site has become the highest location for a ground-based telescope, providing researchers with a unique tool for studying infrared waves in the Universe. Although the high altitude location provides clearer skies and less interference from the atmosphere, building an observatory on a high mountain poses enormous difficulties and challenges. However, despite the difficulties, the new observatory opens up broad research prospects for astronomers. ... >>

Optimal combination of crops and solar panels 04.10.2023

Researchers from Wageningen University in the Netherlands have concluded that co-locating farmland and solar panels is a viable approach.

According to experts, the combination of crops and solar panels on an area of 1,25 hectares can lead to yields and electricity production equal to the results of two separate fields of 1 hectare each.

Large-scale cultivation of plants and electricity production in the same area appears to be quite feasible, despite some reduction in crop yields and electricity production per hectare compared to a situation where the land is used for only one function. However, the overall productivity per hectare using agrophotovoltaics is superior to that of growing crops and producing electricity in two separate fields.

Research conducted in Germany on several crops confirmed that achieving crop production and solar energy on an area of 1 hectare each (2 hectares in total) is only possible on 1,25 hectares using an agricultural photovoltaic system.

To maximize yield and energy production, solar panels must be tailored to the crops being grown, and sometimes changes in agricultural production methods are required.
