5 GHz Intel Core i7-1195G7 processor

02.06.2021

Intel has announced new energy-efficient 11th generation Core (Tiger Lake Refresh) CPUs for ultraportable laptops - the flagship Core i7-1195G7 and the pre-top Core i5-1155G7. Both processors are quad-core Hyper-Threading models with 15-28W TDP for thin and light laptops.

The Core i7-1195G7 is the new flagship of the line and the first low cost U-series processor capable of overclocking up to 5,0 GHz. We are talking about Intel Turbo Boost Max 3.0 technology for the most productive core. The base frequency is 100 MHz lower than that of the i7-1185G7 at 2,9 GHz, and the increased frequency for all cores is 4,6 GHz.

Recall that Intel conquered the 5 GHz milestone in the mobile segment in 2019 with the launch of the Core i9-9980HK. Now, with the transition to a thinner 10-nm SuperFin process technology, such a high frequency has become possible for energy-efficient U-series chips. Another notable improvement is the integrated Iris Xe GPU with 96 compute units running at an increased frequency of 1,4 GHz.

In essence, the Core i7-1195G7 is a selective version of the Core i7-1185G7. Intel introduced the 5GHz Core i7-1195G7 processor for ultraportable laptops and the 5G Solution 5000 notebook modem co-developed with MediaTek, the Core i5-1155G7 model leading the Core i5 series. operates at a base frequency of 2,5 GHz and is capable of overclocking up to 4,5 GHz on the most productive core.

The existence of an entropy rule for quantum entanglement has been proven 09.05.2024

Quantum mechanics continues to amaze us with its mysterious phenomena and unexpected discoveries. Recently, Bartosz Regula from the RIKEN Center for Quantum Computing and Ludovico Lamy from the University of Amsterdam presented a new discovery that concerns quantum entanglement and its relation to entropy. Quantum entanglement plays an important role in modern quantum information science and technology. However, the complexity of its structure makes understanding and managing it challenging. Regulus and Lamy's discovery shows that quantum entanglement follows an entropy rule similar to that for classical systems. This discovery opens new perspectives in the field of quantum information science and technology, deepening our understanding of quantum entanglement and its connection to thermodynamics. The results of the study indicate the possibility of reversibility of entanglement transformations, which could greatly simplify their use in various quantum technologies. Opening a new rule ... >>

New method for creating powerful batteries 08.05.2024

With the development of technology and the expanding use of electronics, the issue of creating efficient and safe energy sources is becoming increasingly urgent. Researchers at the University of Queensland have unveiled a new approach to creating high-power zinc-based batteries that could change the landscape of the energy industry. One of the main problems with traditional water-based rechargeable batteries was their low voltage, which limited their use in modern devices. But thanks to a new method developed by scientists, this drawback has been successfully overcome. As part of their research, scientists turned to a special organic compound - catechol. It turned out to be an important component that can improve battery stability and increase its efficiency. This approach has led to a significant increase in the voltage of zinc-ion batteries, making them more competitive. According to scientists, such batteries have several advantages. They have b ... >>

Alcohol content of warm beer 07.05.2024

Beer, as one of the most common alcoholic drinks, has its own unique taste, which can change depending on the temperature of consumption. A new study by an international team of scientists has found that beer temperature has a significant impact on the perception of alcoholic taste. The study, led by materials scientist Lei Jiang, found that at different temperatures, ethanol and water molecules form different types of clusters, which affects the perception of alcoholic taste. At low temperatures, more pyramid-like clusters form, which reduces the pungency of the "ethanol" taste and makes the drink taste less alcoholic. On the contrary, as the temperature increases, the clusters become more chain-like, resulting in a more pronounced alcoholic taste. This explains why the taste of some alcoholic drinks, such as baijiu, can change depending on temperature. The data obtained opens up new prospects for beverage manufacturers, ... >>

Cost-Effective Toshiba ARM Processors for IoT 16.04.2015

Toshiba's new IoT processors based on ARM Cortex-A9 complement the ApP Lite TZ5000 series with low power models and provide robust security features and high memory performance.

Toshiba Electronics Europe is expanding its ApP Lite processor portfolio with the new TZ5010XBG, TZ5011XBG, TZ5021XBG and TZ5023XBG models. New processors based on ARM Cortex-A9 are designed to create solutions in the field of "Internet of Things" (IoT) and reduce power consumption.

Toshiba's hardware-assisted power management and system integration technology is said to provide high memory efficiency, low processing latency, and robust security features. The above functions allow processors to enter power saving mode within microseconds, which is much easier and faster than doing such a switch using software tools. The use of new models will reduce energy consumption and reduce heat generation in most projects. All four new TZ5000 series devices include a MIPI DSI serial display interface supporting 1080p/60 high definition video, while the TZ5010 and TZ5011 devices include a MIPI CSI2 camera serial interface supporting 1080p/30 high definition video.

The TZ5010XBG and TZ5011XBG application processors are based on a 9 GHz dual-core ARM Cortex-A1,0 processor. They also include built-in high-speed Wi-Fi 802.11ac and graphics and video processing modules with HDMI digital serial interfaces. These processors are suitable for building IoT gateways that require higher storage capacity for high-resolution media and images. Both processors have an extended operating temperature range and improved processor and memory performance. The scope of their application is expanded in comparison with previous processors and includes industrial solutions, display devices with support for Miracast, and technologies for streaming multimedia content.

The TZ5021XBG and TZ5023XBG are based on a dual-core ARM Cortex-A9 processor running at 800 MHz, support LP-DDR2/3 memory, and have a special power saving mode for use in mobile devices. All of these features are packaged in a small package, making it easy to build certain IoT devices such as smartwatches. The TZ5023XBG also contains a low power Cadence Tensilica HiFi Mini digital signal processor that processes voice, audio, and sensor signals.

Toshiba also announced the release of a general purpose reference board, software development kits (SDKs) for Android and Yocto Linux (Yocto Project), and design guidelines to easily set up the required development environment.

TZ5010XBG and TZ5011XBG are 12mm x 13mm x 1,2mm while TZ5021XBG and TZ5023XBG are only 12mm x 12mm x 0,8mm. All microcircuits have a pin pitch of 0,5 mm. Introductory samples are already available.
