NOKIA 650

The smallest and lightest NMT-450i cell phone has everything a modern mobile phone needs and more. First, the miniature Nokia 650 has a distinct design personality. Secondly, it weighs only 170 grams (with a flat battery) and is therefore considered by far the lightest mobile phone in its standard. And, thirdly, its dimensions are 136x47x30 mm.

Consider its main functions and additional features. Information is easy to read on the high-contrast, backlit display capable of displaying up to five lines of text, numbers and graphics. Both large and small fonts are displayed dynamically; installed indicators of radio signal levels, battery charge and phone status. You can make full-screen editing using the cursor. Word wrapping is done automatically. The display is supplemented with an alarm function - a flashing backlight. Nokia 650 is equipped with a calculator, an alarm clock, a calendar (acting as a business diary), a PCMCIA interface and four entertaining games.

The highlight of this phone is the built-in FM radio. True, you will have to configure it manually, since there is no automatic search for stations. Up to 5 presets for selected radio stations can be stored in memory.

It is possible to use an additional external amplifier (with a power of 7 W), which will significantly expand the service area when driving in a car. The menu text is reproduced in 25 languages, including Russian, and contains 122 items! If there were no text prompts in the phone, it would be easy to get confused.

Phone profiles are adjusted to any specific situation (street, meeting, office, VIP, etc.).

The Nokia 650 has ten volume levels that can be adjusted during a call using the (very convenient) side buttons, as well as various volume ranges for offline, car and headset use. Call signals are carried out by any of the 35 programmed melodies (plus one more recorded). There are also different types of ring tone. The dial buttons have four volume levels and the ringtone has six.

Security and accounting of conversations is carried out by entering a PIN code, the activation of which can be turned on or off. Various functions for accounting for the duration and cost of calls or call barring will help you save both time and money (if these functions are supported by your mobile operator). Naturally, the Nokia 650 has the ability to listen to voice mail, several ways to speed dial and redial from the list of dialed addresses; call forwarding, automatic call answering when using a headset or car kit, and temporary memory, backlight, keypad lock, and tone dialing (DTMF). Up to 200 names with telephones can be entered into the built-in notebook, having previously divided them into groups: management, friends, colleagues. Most mobile phones have one drawback: it can ring at the most inopportune moment for you. But Nokia 650 will save the owner from this unpleasant surprise. It is enough to choose a work profile that will determine the parameters of the phone in each specific situation. On a day off, you can set the profile only for private calls, and during business negotiations - for the most urgent. For complete information comfort, you can program various ringing tones with the image on the display of various groups of subscribers.

In addition to all of the above, Nokia 650 supports new advanced features of the NMT-450i, such as sending short (up to 160 characters) messages (SMS), displaying the number or name of the caller on the display (the numbers of both received and not received incoming calls are displayed), use of the "+" sign for international calls, semi-automatic country selection, clock and speech encryption.

The phone provides for the use of four types of batteries: flat battery (Li-ion, 900 mAh; phone weight - 170 g), standard battery (Ni-MH, 900 mAh; weight - 195 g), battery with vibrator (Ni-MH, 900 mAh ; weight - 200 g) and high-capacity battery (Li-ion, 1500 mAh; weight - 190 g). Naturally, the operating time of this phone depends on the batteries used. The spread of these parameters is large: from 45 min. up to 2 h 30 min. talk time and from 16 - 120 hours of standby time. The times given depend on the mode of operation used, the properties of the network and may therefore differ from those indicated. Another novelty used in this phone is the presence of a call encryption function. It works, however, only at the stage of voice transmission from the phone to the BS, and at the same time it must be supported by the network operator.

We got acquainted with the main characteristics of the phone. Now let's choose one of 35 melodies for the ringtone and one of 25 languages for displaying information. Let's enter 200 names and phone numbers into memory. Let's set the necessary parameters.. Mark an important meeting on the calendar and set an alarm clock that will remind you of it. Let's turn on the radio and play one of four games!!!

All these features have a phone that fits in a shirt pocket!

Pros:

  • the smallest and lightest in its standard;
  • the presence of a radio receiver;
  • the ability to encrypt conversations;
  • graphic display.

Cons:

  • sufficiently high cost;
  • complex menu.

Artificial leather for touch emulation 15.04.2024

In a modern technology world where distance is becoming increasingly commonplace, maintaining connection and a sense of closeness is important. Recent developments in artificial skin by German scientists from Saarland University represent a new era in virtual interactions. German researchers from Saarland University have developed ultra-thin films that can transmit the sensation of touch over a distance. This cutting-edge technology provides new opportunities for virtual communication, especially for those who find themselves far from their loved ones. The ultra-thin films developed by the researchers, just 50 micrometers thick, can be integrated into textiles and worn like a second skin. These films act as sensors that recognize tactile signals from mom or dad, and as actuators that transmit these movements to the baby. Parents' touch to the fabric activates sensors that react to pressure and deform the ultra-thin film. This ... >>

The Petgugu cat litter bowl is designed for use with water-soluble litters and offers a range of additional ... >>

The attractiveness of caring men 14.04.2024

The stereotype that women prefer "bad boys" has long been widespread. However, recent research conducted by British scientists from Monash University offers a new perspective on this issue. They looked at how women responded to men's emotional responsibility and willingness to help others. The study's findings could change our understanding of what makes men attractive to women. A study conducted by scientists from Monash University leads to new findings about men's attractiveness to women. In the experiment, women were shown photographs of men with brief stories about their behavior in various situations, including their reaction to an encounter with a homeless person. Some of the men ignored the homeless man, while others helped him, such as buying him food. A study found that men who showed empathy and kindness were more attractive to women compared to men who showed empathy and kindness. ... >>

Bat robot 02.03.2014

American engineers have analyzed the flight mechanics of bats for the first time and in the near future will use the collected data to create a robot that can fly in the air and maneuver in the same way as its living bat "ancestor", according to an article in the journal Physics of Fluids.

"Bats are generally very agile and nimble and have the ability to change flight paths very quickly, which helps them quickly maneuver and catch prey mid-flight. We were interested in how they do this," said Danesh Tafty of Virginia Tech in Blackburg (USA).

Tufty and his colleagues unraveled the mysteries of bat flight by studying the anatomy, mechanical properties, and wing movement of fruit bats, large bats from the Pteropodidae family. These bats, despite the rather large wingspan of 40 cm, have a relatively small mass - about 30 g.

Small mass and large wings can create serious problems with strong gusts of wind. The authors of the article found that bats cope with them by constantly changing the shape and size of the wing during up and down flapping.

For example, bats increase wing area by 30% during their downstroke to maximize "useful" air currents, and decrease it by a similar amount during their upstroke, minimizing downward pulling forces. Due to this, fruit bat wings generate 2-3 times more lift than glider wings of similar area.

“In the near future, we will break down these seemingly complex wing movements into simple elements, which is necessary to create a bat robot. In addition, we plan to study other bat movements, such as flying in a straight line and quick maneuvers. And the main question will be whether we can use this information to create an autonomous aircraft," Tufty concludes.
