New York Air Co. developed a recipe for vodka, consisting only of water and air. No grains, no yeast, just electricity.

The company turns carbon from air into pure ethanol by electrically splitting water into hydrogen and oxygen. The carbon, oxygen and hydrogen atoms then recombine to form "environmentally friendly" ethanol.

"The process is similar to photosynthesis, but more efficient," explains Air Co. CTO. Stafford Sheehan.

The technology of the Americans simplifies the production of vodka and at the same time cleans the air, taking carbon from the external environment.
