How many euphemisms for a latrine have changed in Russian?

In our speech, often words that are indecent to say out loud are replaced by euphemisms, which over time also become "shameful" and give way to new euphemisms. For example, once instead of the traditional Russian word "nuzhnik", a latrine began to be called a toilet borrowed from French. Then "water closet" appeared in the lexicon, and around the beginning of the 20th century, the word "latrine" came into use, which previously only called the dressing and washing room. Finally, the time has come for the "toilet", which previously meant an outfit or a table with a mirror. First, the toilet began to be called a restroom in some public places (theaters, restaurants), and then any room with a toilet.

What is the FBI?

The FBI is perhaps one of the most remarkable and most famous departments of the federal government. The Federal Bureau of Investigation (that's its full name) was founded in 1908 as a bureau within the US Department of Justice.

The FBI is called upon to investigate violations of federal laws, as well as cases in which the United States is interested in solving. In 1924, an identification department was created. First came a file cabinet that stored 810 fingerprints. Today, the FBI has fingerprint cards of 188 people!

The FBI is headquartered in Washington, D.C. In addition, there are 52 leading departments that are scattered throughout the country. In addition to its main functions, the FBI performs the role of a service organization for local executive bodies and state police departments.

The Investigation Department matches fingerprints and clarifies information about crimes. When a person is arrested, their fingerprints are sent to the FBI, and you can find out within 5 minutes if this person had any dealings with the police. Copies of this person's data are sent to the appropriate police department within 36 hours after his fingerprint is received in Washington.

Information from special laboratories is also available to all law enforcement agencies. The scientists working there are equipped with the most modern equipment, every day they study hundreds of documents, do blood, hair, soil and other tests. When all the evidence is collected, the FBI experts testify in court.

In June 1939, the US President chose the FBI as an agency investigating espionage, sabotage, and others that undermine the country's defenses. During World War II, the FBI maintained the security of the country and exposed numerous spy organizations.

Machine for thinning flowers in gardens 02.05.2024

In modern agriculture, technological progress is developing aimed at increasing the efficiency of plant care processes. The innovative Florix flower thinning machine was presented in Italy, designed to optimize the harvesting stage. This tool is equipped with mobile arms, allowing it to be easily adapted to the needs of the garden. The operator can adjust the speed of the thin wires by controlling them from the tractor cab using a joystick. This approach significantly increases the efficiency of the flower thinning process, providing the possibility of individual adjustment to the specific conditions of the garden, as well as the variety and type of fruit grown in it. After testing the Florix machine for two years on various types of fruit, the results were very encouraging. Farmers such as Filiberto Montanari, who has used a Florix machine for several years, have reported a significant reduction in the time and labor required to thin flowers. ... >>

Advanced Infrared Microscope 02.05.2024

Microscopes play an important role in scientific research, allowing scientists to delve into structures and processes invisible to the eye. However, various microscopy methods have their limitations, and among them was the limitation of resolution when using the infrared range. But the latest achievements of Japanese researchers from the University of Tokyo open up new prospects for studying the microworld. Scientists from the University of Tokyo have unveiled a new microscope that will revolutionize the capabilities of infrared microscopy. This advanced instrument allows you to see the internal structures of living bacteria with amazing clarity on the nanometer scale. Typically, mid-infrared microscopes are limited by low resolution, but the latest development from Japanese researchers overcomes these limitations. According to scientists, the developed microscope allows creating images with a resolution of up to 120 nanometers, which is 30 times higher than the resolution of traditional microscopes. ... >>

Air trap for insects 01.05.2024

Agriculture is one of the key sectors of the economy, and pest control is an integral part of this process. A team of scientists from the Indian Council of Agricultural Research-Central Potato Research Institute (ICAR-CPRI), Shimla, has come up with an innovative solution to this problem - a wind-powered insect air trap. This device addresses the shortcomings of traditional pest control methods by providing real-time insect population data. The trap is powered entirely by wind energy, making it an environmentally friendly solution that requires no power. Its unique design allows monitoring of both harmful and beneficial insects, providing a complete overview of the population in any agricultural area. “By assessing target pests at the right time, we can take necessary measures to control both pests and diseases,” says Kapil ... >>

NZXT C Series Bronze Power Supplies 26.09.2021

NZXT introduced the C Series Bronze power supply. This is a budget series that includes 550W, 650W and 750W models with 80 Plus Bronze certifications.

In the description of the blocks, the presence of combined cable systems is noted. The main cables, made non-removable, are braided. The speed of the fan that provides cooling to the components depends on the temperature, which allows the power supply to operate almost silently under light loads.

Model C550 Bronze is estimated by the manufacturer at $80. The C650 Bronze is $90, while the most powerful C750 Bronze is $100.

New PSUs come with a five-year warranty. Sales should start in the fourth quarter.
