Under what conditions does an android robot cause dislike in people? Detailed answer Directory / Big encyclopedia. Questions for quiz and self-education Did you know? Under what conditions does an android robot cause dislike in people? The stronger the external resemblance of a robot or other object that looks and acts like a person with a real person, the more attractive it seems to us, but only up to a certain limit. When the similarity reaches a certain threshold, the robot begins to seem frightening and repulsive to us, most likely due to minor inconsistencies with reality. The corresponding “dip” in a positive emotional response versus similarity graph is referred to as the “uncanny valley” effect. Moreover, animation enhances both positive and negative impressions of the object. Cartoonists have long applied this principle, drawing characters that are supposed to be sympathetic, not too similar to people. Authors: Jimmy Wales, Larry Sanger Random interesting fact from the Great Encyclopedia: How do calories affect our weight? We don't get fat from excess calories for one simple reason: calories have nothing to do with food! Calories are a measure of measurement: they measure energy or heat. One calorie is equal to the heat required to heat one gram of water one degree Celsius. To measure the energy that our body receives from food, we use a larger unit - kilocalorie. One kilocalorie equals one thousand calories. But why do they say that we get better from calories? In general, the food we take can be compared to fuel. The process of digestion of food by the body is, in fact, an oxidation reaction, that is, "burning". And when we want to know how much fuel we consume and how much our body needs, we use the measure of fuel in the full sense of the word - calories! Different people require different amounts of calories to sustain life. But some general rules or requirements can be deduced. For example, the average adult needs between two and three thousand calories per day. But suppose you are a factory worker. Since you use a lot of energy at work, you can burn from three to four thousand calories. And what about athletes and lumberjacks! They need four or more thousand calories a day. Children use more energy than adults. Older people need fewer calories because they cannot "burn" fuel as easily as people in early life. Those who work outdoors require more calories than those who work indoors. Now let's see what happens if you get more calories than you need, that is, more than you use during the day. "Fuel", not used by the body, turns into fat and is stored for future use! And that's why people worry about the number of calories. If you want to reduce your calorie intake, do it with sugar, fat, and starch.
