What are the rules for three-way football?

Danish artist Asger Jorn came up with three-way football back in the early 1990s. It is played simultaneously by three teams on a hexagonal field, and the teams' gates are placed on the sides of the hexagon through one. The winner of the match is not the team that scored the most, but the team that missed the least. The author considered the main idea of creating such a sport to be the destruction of the traditional bipolar confrontation in football and giving the game a more philosophical approach. Today, trilateral football matches, as a rule, are non-systematic and are timed to coincide with festivals, exhibitions, or major political events.

Where is a protest breed of pigs raised that resembles the national flag in a pattern?

At the beginning of the 20th century, Danes living in the northern regions of the German state of Schleswig-Holstein were forbidden to fly the Danish flag. In response, they tried to embody his design in pigs and developed a new breed with a vertical white stripe, called the "Danish Protest". In 1968, the breed began to be considered extinct, but then pigs with a similar phenotype were again found. Today, the authorities of Schleswig-Holstein encourage their breeding, noting the cultural value of the breed.

Traffic noise delays the growth of chicks 06.05.2024

The sounds that surround us in modern cities are becoming increasingly piercing. However, few people think about how this noise affects the animal world, especially such delicate creatures as chicks that have not yet hatched from their eggs. Recent research is shedding light on this issue, indicating serious consequences for their development and survival. Scientists have found that exposure of zebra diamondback chicks to traffic noise can cause serious disruption to their development. Experiments have shown that noise pollution can significantly delay their hatching, and those chicks that do emerge face a number of health-promoting problems. The researchers also found that the negative effects of noise pollution extend into the adult birds. Reduced chances of reproduction and decreased fertility indicate the long-term effects that traffic noise has on wildlife. The study results highlight the need ... >>

A New Way to Control and Manipulate Optical Signals 05.05.2024

The modern world of science and technology is developing rapidly, and every day new methods and technologies appear that open up new prospects for us in various fields. One such innovation is the development by German scientists of a new way to control optical signals, which could lead to significant progress in the field of photonics. Recent research has allowed German scientists to create a tunable waveplate inside a fused silica waveguide. This method, based on the use of a liquid crystal layer, allows one to effectively change the polarization of light passing through a waveguide. This technological breakthrough opens up new prospects for the development of compact and efficient photonic devices capable of processing large volumes of data. The electro-optical control of polarization provided by the new method could provide the basis for a new class of integrated photonic devices. This opens up great opportunities for ... >>

New Wireless File Transfer System 03.01.2020

Vivo, Oppo and Xiaomi announced the creation of an innovative wireless file transfer system for users around the world. The new technology, an initiative of the Peer-to-Peer Transmission Alliance, enables fast one-touch file transfers between branded devices.

The new system will allow customers of these three brands to easily transfer files between mobile devices without the need for third-party apps or network connections. The technology supports receiving and sending a wide range of documents: photos, videos, music and other formats. The move comes in anticipation of the ubiquity of 5G networks, with average file sizes expected to increase along with content diversity.

Vivo, Oppo and Xiaomi have a large user base and this partnership will benefit a significant number of consumers worldwide. For vivo, this is an opportunity to provide customers with a unique, secure and fast wireless data transfer experience. We will continue to support strategic initiatives that improve the lives of our users around the world.

The wireless file transfer system does not require an internet connection. The technology uses Bluetooth for fast pairing and Wi-Fi P2P (Peer to Peer) technology for data transfer. The average data transfer rate is 20 MB/s. In addition, Wi-Fi P2P does not interrupt the current Wi-Fi connection, allowing users to stay online while the file is being transferred.

This feature will begin to be added to smartphones from manufacturers in various markets from February 2020.
