The Baltic Sea does not have this name everywhere. In the languages of the Germanic group, in addition to English, it is called the East Sea, but in Estonian it is called the West, which is logical from the point of view of geography. The discrepancy is manifested in the Finnish language: here the sea is also East, although it is located to the south and west of Finland. This is explained by the fact that Finland was part of Sweden for a long time, and the name of the sea was established as a tracing paper from the Swedish language.
