How is Rasputin related to the phrase All names and events are fictitious, any coincidences are coincidental?

In Hollywood films, you can often find a disclaimer, that is, a disclaimer that sounds something like this: "All names and events are fictitious, any resemblance to real people and events is accidental." Film companies began to use it after the release of the 1932 film "Rasputin and the Empress", the prototypes of the characters of which Pavel Chegodaev and Natasha were Prince Felix Yusupov (involved in the murder of Rasputin) and his wife, Princess Irina Alexandrova Romanova-Yusupova. They filed a lawsuit against MGM for libel and discrediting the princess, because according to the plot of the picture, Natasha was raped by Rasputin and became his mistress. The British court satisfied the claim and awarded the Yusupovs a round sum, but even more was paid to them by MGM for allowing the film to be further distributed.

Who is the Caesar salad named after?

Caesar salad has nothing to do with Julius Caesar. It is named after Italian-born American chef Caesar Cardini, who invented the recipe. According to legend, Cardini made a salad from what was left in the kitchen of his restaurant when, during the celebration of US Independence Day, there was nothing left from the menu, and customers demanded food.

Artificial leather for touch emulation 15.04.2024

In a modern technology world where distance is becoming increasingly commonplace, maintaining connection and a sense of closeness is important. Recent developments in artificial skin by German scientists from Saarland University represent a new era in virtual interactions. German researchers from Saarland University have developed ultra-thin films that can transmit the sensation of touch over a distance. This cutting-edge technology provides new opportunities for virtual communication, especially for those who find themselves far from their loved ones. The ultra-thin films developed by the researchers, just 50 micrometers thick, can be integrated into textiles and worn like a second skin. These films act as sensors that recognize tactile signals from mom or dad, and as actuators that transmit these movements to the baby. Parents' touch to the fabric activates sensors that react to pressure and deform the ultra-thin film. This ... >>
