Does techno have anything in common with rock music?

Almost nothing, since melody and singing, especially in modern hip-hop style, do not play any significant role in techno. The main thing here is the rhythm, and the sound is created on the computer.

What happens at the epicenter of a hurricane?

A hurricane is a wind twisting into several spirals at a terrible speed. When the wind blows at a speed of 120 km/h, the pressure along the axis of the air column drops very quickly. This area of low pressure in the center is called the hurricane's epicenter. This is sometimes called the "eye" of a hurricane. The epicenter can be from 15 to 30 km wide. The low pressure at the epicenter causes seawater to be easily sucked into the epicenter and rise up. Very heavy showers sometimes occur in areas of low pressure.

The heaviest rain falls from the clouds around the epicenter of the hurricane. The "eye" of a hurricane can be thought of as a hole in a donut. The winds blow around the epicenter, and inside it is calm. The sky above it can be clear, free of clouds. The winds there are weak, usually less than 34 km/h.

If a hurricane overtakes you and you fall into its epicenter, at first you will feel a strong wind, then you will be wet through with rain. The epicenter of the hurricane will pass, and there will be a period of calm clear skies. Then again it will rain and strong wind, but this time blowing in the opposite direction.

Why does pressure drop rapidly along the axis of the air column, forming the epicenter of a hurricane? How is the epicenter of a hurricane formed - its "eye"? Meteorologists who study this phenomenon do not have an exact explanation for what is happening.

Artificial leather for touch emulation 15.04.2024

In a modern technology world where distance is becoming increasingly commonplace, maintaining connection and a sense of closeness is important. Recent developments in artificial skin by German scientists from Saarland University represent a new era in virtual interactions. German researchers from Saarland University have developed ultra-thin films that can transmit the sensation of touch over a distance. This cutting-edge technology provides new opportunities for virtual communication, especially for those who find themselves far from their loved ones. The ultra-thin films developed by the researchers, just 50 micrometers thick, can be integrated into textiles and worn like a second skin. These films act as sensors that recognize tactile signals from mom or dad, and as actuators that transmit these movements to the baby. Parents' touch to the fabric activates sensors that react to pressure and deform the ultra-thin film. This ... >>

Petgugu Global cat litter 15.04.2024

Taking care of pets can often be a challenge, especially when it comes to keeping your home clean. A new interesting solution from the Petgugu Global startup has been presented, which will make life easier for cat owners and help them keep their home perfectly clean and tidy. Startup Petgugu Global has unveiled a unique cat toilet that can automatically flush feces, keeping your home clean and fresh. This innovative device is equipped with various smart sensors that monitor your pet's toilet activity and activate to automatically clean after use. The device connects to the sewer system and ensures efficient waste removal without the need for intervention from the owner. Additionally, the toilet has a large flushable storage capacity, making it ideal for multi-cat households. The Petgugu cat litter bowl is designed for use with water-soluble litters and offers a range of additional ... >>

The attractiveness of caring men 14.04.2024

The stereotype that women prefer "bad boys" has long been widespread. However, recent research conducted by British scientists from Monash University offers a new perspective on this issue. They looked at how women responded to men's emotional responsibility and willingness to help others. The study's findings could change our understanding of what makes men attractive to women. A study conducted by scientists from Monash University leads to new findings about men's attractiveness to women. In the experiment, women were shown photographs of men with brief stories about their behavior in various situations, including their reaction to an encounter with a homeless person. Some of the men ignored the homeless man, while others helped him, such as buying him food. A study found that men who showed empathy and kindness were more attractive to women compared to men who showed empathy and kindness. ... >>

The strongest material in the world 13.04.2016

Scientists from the University of Vienna (Austria) for the first time managed to synthesize a stable form of a phenomenal material that is at least twice as strong as graphene.

Carbyne is an allotropic form of carbon based on the sp hybridization of carbon atoms. It was obtained in artificial conditions from long chains of carbon atoms laid parallel to each other. Carbyne is a linear polymer of carbon, in its molecule carbon atoms can be connected in chains alternately, by triple and single bonds, or by double bonds. Due to the instability of this type of chains of carbon atoms, no one has previously been able to `construct' a carbine fragment with a length of more than 100 atoms.

Austrian physicists have developed a technique that allows not only to create stable samples of carbine, but also to establish its mass production in the future. By combining two sheets of graphene and placing them in carbon nanotubes, the scientists were able to obtain stable carbine chains over 6400 atoms long. The electrical bonds in carbine increase as the length of the chains increases, therefore, the longer the chains are, the more stable the material will be.
