Who were called boyars?

In ancient Russia, the closest people to the prince were his combatants. It was the squad that determined the strength and influence of the prince, the prince consulted with the warriors on all important issues, sent the warriors to follow the implementation of their orders. That is, a combatant is not just and not only a warrior, it is a confidant. Those combatants whom the prince especially trusted and who were members of the princely council were called boyars.

Later, the senior servants of the princely palace, who were in charge of certain services, were also included in the boyars: stables, food supplies and supplies, clothing, and weapons. With all this, the princely palace provided not only the prince, but also the squad, so that the economy of the palace was very extensive. Unlike the European nobles, the boyars did not have any privileges by birth. Of course, it was easier for the son of a boyar to become a confidant of the prince, of course, the boyars were richer than most other people, but in general they were advisers and managers appointed by the prince personally, by our current standards - high-ranking officials.

Even later, at the court of the Moscow grand dukes and the first tsars, the position that a boyar could take began to be determined by his generosity. This meant not only the antiquity of the family, but also the positions that the ancestors occupied. Even the tsar himself could not appoint, for example, the chief of the troops of the "thin-born" boyar, no matter how talented a commander he was. More well-born commanders would simply refuse to obey him. This order, called localism, was broken only under Peter I.

Smart planter PAU 15.10.2022

A smart planter developed by the Punjab Agricultural University (PAU) in India is included in a centrally sponsored subsidy scheme by the Union Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare.

Wheat planted in a paddy field with the PAU smart planter matures earlier than with the Happy and Super Seed planters. She can work with a tractor with a power of 45 to 50 horsepower and sow wheat on 10-12 acres per day. The machine gives the proper space for the seeds to germinate and grow in good soil conditions.

To commercialize its smart planter, Punjab Agricultural University has signed a memorandum of agreement with at least 10 agricultural equipment manufacturers. The application process for the PAU smart planter subsidy will be announced by the Punjab Ministry of Agriculture.

In the 2021-22 wheat planting season, it has been successfully demonstrated on 580 acres for planting wheat in leftover honeydew in farmers' fields.

Dr. Jaswinder Singh Brar, plant protection officer, said that wheat sown with the smart planter grows healthy and yields well compared to fields sown after burning padi straw.
