Where do most tigers live?

IN USA.

A hundred years ago, there were about 40 tigers in India. Today, there are between 000 and 3000 of them. According to some scientists, only 4700 to 5100 wild tigers remain in nature. On the other hand, it is estimated that there are 7500 tigers in captivity in Texas alone. According to the American Association of Zoos and Aquariums, there are up to 4000 individuals in private ownership in the United States. So, Mike Tyson personally has as many as four tigers.

Part of the explanation for this huge population is American law. Only nineteen states prohibit private ownership of tigers, fifteen require a license, and the remaining sixteen states have no restrictions at all.

In addition, the pleasure is not so expensive. A small tiger cub will cost you only $1000, and for $3500 you can buy yourself a pair of adult Bengal tigers; $15 is enough for a trendy white tiger with blue eyes.

Ironically, today's situation is the result of the success of the tiger breeding programs in American circuses and zoos. An oversupply of tiger cubs in the 1980s and 1990s led to a significant reduction in their prices. The American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals estimates that there are about 500 lions, tigers and other big cats in Houston alone.

Throughout the 1950th century, wild tiger populations have suffered irreparable damage. By the 1937s, tigers had completely disappeared from the Caspian Sea, and between 1972 and XNUMX, from the islands of Bali and Java. In southern China, tigers are also practically not found - there are only thirty of them left in the wild.

Despite the desperate efforts of environmentalists, there is a fear that by the end of this century, tigers will completely disappear from the wild.

A domestic cat is about a hundred times smaller than a tiger.

Tigers cannot stand the smell of alcohol. And they will tear apart anyone who kissed the bottle.

Tigers fade as they age, but who can blame them for this?

What poet kept many animals, among which were a bear, a crocodile and an eagle?

Lord Byron was very fond of animals. While studying at Cambridge, he was faced with a ban on keeping dogs in rooms and decided to get a bear cub. Since bears were not mentioned in the ban, the university could do nothing about this fact. Throughout his life, Byron's pets included a fox, a badger, a crocodile, an eagle, a crane, and a heron.

Machine for thinning flowers in gardens 02.05.2024

In modern agriculture, technological progress is developing aimed at increasing the efficiency of plant care processes. The innovative Florix flower thinning machine was presented in Italy, designed to optimize the harvesting stage. This tool is equipped with mobile arms, allowing it to be easily adapted to the needs of the garden. The operator can adjust the speed of the thin wires by controlling them from the tractor cab using a joystick. This approach significantly increases the efficiency of the flower thinning process, providing the possibility of individual adjustment to the specific conditions of the garden, as well as the variety and type of fruit grown in it. After testing the Florix machine for two years on various types of fruit, the results were very encouraging. Farmers such as Filiberto Montanari, who has used a Florix machine for several years, have reported a significant reduction in the time and labor required to thin flowers. ... >>

Advanced Infrared Microscope 02.05.2024

Microscopes play an important role in scientific research, allowing scientists to delve into structures and processes invisible to the eye. However, various microscopy methods have their limitations, and among them was the limitation of resolution when using the infrared range. But the latest achievements of Japanese researchers from the University of Tokyo open up new prospects for studying the microworld. Scientists from the University of Tokyo have unveiled a new microscope that will revolutionize the capabilities of infrared microscopy. This advanced instrument allows you to see the internal structures of living bacteria with amazing clarity on the nanometer scale. Typically, mid-infrared microscopes are limited by low resolution, but the latest development from Japanese researchers overcomes these limitations. According to scientists, the developed microscope allows creating images with a resolution of up to 120 nanometers, which is 30 times higher than the resolution of traditional microscopes. ... >>

Air trap for insects 01.05.2024

Agriculture is one of the key sectors of the economy, and pest control is an integral part of this process. A team of scientists from the Indian Council of Agricultural Research-Central Potato Research Institute (ICAR-CPRI), Shimla, has come up with an innovative solution to this problem - a wind-powered insect air trap. This device addresses the shortcomings of traditional pest control methods by providing real-time insect population data. The trap is powered entirely by wind energy, making it an environmentally friendly solution that requires no power. Its unique design allows monitoring of both harmful and beneficial insects, providing a complete overview of the population in any agricultural area. “By assessing target pests at the right time, we can take necessary measures to control both pests and diseases,” says Kapil ... >>

Home cleaning promotes relaxation 17.10.2016

American scientists have proven that home cleaning promotes relaxation. In their opinion, this activity can overcome the most persistent stress and chronic depression.

Specialists from the Center for Mental Disorders in the USA are sure that by putting your home in order, you can harmonize yourself both physically and mentally. So, during the experiment, scientists observed the volunteers during the cleaning of the apartment. Cleaning, some experienced increased stress from the inability to throw away unnecessary things. But those participants who cleaned vigorously and at a pace strengthened their physical condition and involuntarily lifted their spirits.

The researchers noticed that those people who devoted their free time at least once a week to a domestic robot suffered from mental disorders 20% less than those who avoided this kind of activity.

Scientists explain these results quite simply: a decrease in the amount of dust, additional physical activity and satisfaction from cleanliness in the house will definitely have a positive effect on the general condition of the body of a hardworking owner.
