Who is a triton? Detailed answer Directory / Big encyclopedia. Questions for quiz and self-education Did you know? Who is a triton? Tritons belong to the order of tailed amphibians. The class of animals known as amphibians includes, in addition to this order, frogs and toads. Most amphibians spend part of their life on earth, and part - in the water. There are now three main orders of amphibians: anurans (for example, frogs and toads), which have no tails as adults; caudate (newts and salamanders), which have tails; legless, which have tails but no legs. Since newts have a long body, people often mistake them for lizards. But they are easy to distinguish from these reptiles: lizards are covered with scales, but newts are not; lizards have claws, but newts do not. Newts love the cold. Most of them live in temperate zones in North America and Europe, where winters are quite cold. Here they adapted to life in various ways. They can live in water or in underground caves, or even in rotten trees. On the ground they crawl or move slowly on their weak paws. In the water, newts swim, wagging their bodies and their long tails. Newts are the smallest of the tailed amphibians and have thicker, drier skin. They live in Asia, North America, North Africa and Europe. One species of newt found in the United States, known as the eastern or red-spotted newt, goes through three stages in a lifetime. He is born in water. After two or three months, a small light green tadpole completes its metamorphosis and is ready for life on land. It takes on a coral red color, and two rows of red dots with a black rim appear on the back. Its size is from 4 to 7 centimeters. After two or three years of life on land, the newt returns to the water to lay its eggs. His skin color changes again, becoming olive green. The skin itself becomes smooth, and new fins grow on the round tail. In this form, the newt spends its third life in the water. Author: Likum A. Random interesting fact from the Great Encyclopedia: How do you get a tan? Many of us do not even realize how useful the light of the sun is for people. For example, it kills fungi and bacteria that parasitize our skin. Under the influence of sunlight, the skin produces a substance that constricts blood vessels and thus increases blood pressure. The ultraviolet rays of the sun produce the vitamin in our body. D. One of the effects that sunlight has on the skin is what we call sunburn. There is a substance in the skin called histidine. The ultraviolet rays of the sun turn it into a substance that can dilate blood vessels, causing reddening of the skin. And how is formed what we call sunburn? There is also a substance in the skin called tyrosine. Ultraviolet rays act on it and turn melanin into a dark pigment, which is deposited on the surface layers of the skin and gives it a reddish-brown color. Melanin also protects the body from further exposure to sunlight. Since sunlight has such a variety of effects on the skin and human body, one should be careful when taking "sunbathing". Did you know that even exposing the sun to the sun alone can increase blood pressure, enrich the bones of the body with vitamin D and so on? Most people take these things lightly, but the greatest benefits can be obtained from sunbathing if you follow the principle of gradualness. This means that on the first day you can expose one fifth of your body to the sun for five minutes, on the next day another fifth of your body for ten minutes, and so on.
