When did the first acrobats appear?

Man has always loved to have fun. From the very beginning of civilization, acrobats, jugglers, animal trainers and clowns have existed for such entertainment. So we cannot say exactly when the first acrobats appeared. Today our idea of acrobats is connected with the circus. Remembering the first circus, we can imagine how modern acrobats appeared.

The first and largest circus in ancient times was the Maximus circus in Rome. It first began to operate in the III century BC and was intended mainly for chariot competitions. The atmosphere in this circus was similar to the modern one. It was a great performance for the people. At the same time, circus performances were given in other theaters, in many respects similar to today's ones. Jugglers, acrobats, tightrope walkers and animal trainers performed there.

For almost a thousand years after the fall of the Roman Empire, the circus did not exist in an organized form. Wandering troupes of circus performers performed, including acrobats, jugglers, and tightrope walkers. Acrobats first appeared in a permanent circus building in 1768 in England. They began performing alongside clowns, tightrope walkers and circus riders. It is now clear to us that acrobats have entertained people for thousands of years. They still perform the most exciting tricks in the circus today.

What tool can be used to go down the ski slopes in speed competitions?

In the 1970s, ski resort workers in New Mexico came up with a quick way to move between locations. They rolled down the slopes astride shovels, controlling the movement by tilting the handle in one direction or another. Over time, this fun began to attract more and more people, even becoming a sport included in the Winter Extreme Games. However, the high risk of injury, exacerbated by the modification of shovels to give them better speed characteristics, has led to the fact that competitions in descent with shovels have been banned almost everywhere.

Artificial leather for touch emulation 15.04.2024

In a modern technology world where distance is becoming increasingly commonplace, maintaining connection and a sense of closeness is important. Recent developments in artificial skin by German scientists from Saarland University represent a new era in virtual interactions. German researchers from Saarland University have developed ultra-thin films that can transmit the sensation of touch over a distance. This cutting-edge technology provides new opportunities for virtual communication, especially for those who find themselves far from their loved ones. The ultra-thin films developed by the researchers, just 50 micrometers thick, can be integrated into textiles and worn like a second skin. These films act as sensors that recognize tactile signals from mom or dad, and as actuators that transmit these movements to the baby. Parents' touch to the fabric activates sensors that react to pressure and deform the ultra-thin film. This ... >>
