What happened in the Stone Age?

The Stone Age is a long period of time related to the prehistoric era, which ended with the invention of writing by man. Humans have lived on Earth for at least 500 years, but the first written language only appeared about 000 years ago. In other words, the prehistoric era lasted quite a long time. Since it was then that a person learned to make all kinds of tools, this period was called the Stone Age. It is subdivided into the Old Stone Age (Paleolithic), Middle Stone Age (Mesolithic), and New Stone Age (Neolithic).

Perhaps the first tool made by man at that time was a large stone with a sharpened rim around the entire perimeter, to which scientists gave the name "hand ax". Sharp fragments chipped from the stone were also used by people as tools. These were hardly the only tools of human labor for many millennia.

Later, during the Ice Age, Neanderthals appeared in Europe - people who had more advanced tools than their predecessors. They also got their livelihood by hunting, but they did it not alone, but in groups. Neanderthals were replaced by Cro-Magnons, who advanced even further in their development. They learned how to create new tools for hunting and labor: harpoons, stone knives, spearheads, scrapers.

Approximately 6000 years ago, a sharp turn took place in the life of people, which dramatically changed their entire existence. They learned to grow grain. Thus began the period of the Neolithic - the new stone age.

Man began to engage in animal husbandry, use the skins of domestic animals as clothing, and build houses. Soon he began to create new objects and things that do not exist in nature. He learned to sculpt dishes from clay, spin linen and wool. People began to work together, and gradually the first settlements began to appear, which became the prototype of villages and cities. Thus was born what we now call civilization.

A New Way to Control and Manipulate Optical Signals 05.05.2024

The modern world of science and technology is developing rapidly, and every day new methods and technologies appear that open up new prospects for us in various fields. One such innovation is the development by German scientists of a new way to control optical signals, which could lead to significant progress in the field of photonics. Recent research has allowed German scientists to create a tunable waveplate inside a fused silica waveguide. This method, based on the use of a liquid crystal layer, allows one to effectively change the polarization of light passing through a waveguide. This technological breakthrough opens up new prospects for the development of compact and efficient photonic devices capable of processing large volumes of data. The electro-optical control of polarization provided by the new method could provide the basis for a new class of integrated photonic devices. This opens up great opportunities for ... >>

Primium Seneca keyboard 05.05.2024

Keyboards are an integral part of our daily computer work. However, one of the main problems that users face is noise, especially in the case of premium models. But with the new Seneca keyboard from Norbauer & Co, that may change. Seneca is not just a keyboard, it is the result of five years of development work to create the ideal device. Every aspect of this keyboard, from acoustic properties to mechanical characteristics, has been carefully considered and balanced. One of the key features of Seneca is its silent stabilizers, which solve the noise problem common to many keyboards. In addition, the keyboard supports various key widths, making it convenient for any user. Although Seneca is not yet available for purchase, it is scheduled for release in late summer. The world's tallest astronomical observatory opened 04.05.2024

Exploring space and its mysteries is a task that attracts the attention of astronomers from all over the world. In the fresh air of the high mountains, far from city light pollution, the stars and planets reveal their secrets with greater clarity. A new page is opening in the history of astronomy with the opening of the world's highest astronomical observatory - the Atacama Observatory of the University of Tokyo. The Atacama Observatory, located at an altitude of 5640 meters above sea level, opens up new opportunities for astronomers in the study of space. This site has become the highest location for a ground-based telescope, providing researchers with a unique tool for studying infrared waves in the Universe. Although the high altitude location provides clearer skies and less interference from the atmosphere, building an observatory on a high mountain poses enormous difficulties and challenges. However, despite the difficulties, the new observatory opens up broad research prospects for astronomers. ... >>

Kamikaze Drone Mass Launch Complex 25.10.2020

The Chinese Academy of Electronics and Information Technology has developed the Swarm ("Roy") complex, which allows you to simultaneously launch up to 48 unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs). Drones can perform both reconnaissance and strike functions.

The Chinese Academy of Electronics and Information Technology (CAEIT), a subsidiary of the Chinese state-owned China Electronics Technology Group Corporation, has tested a new complex mounted on a wheeled chassis.

Loitering ammunition with retractable wings, a camera and high-explosive fragmentation warheads are presented - such drones can fly over the territory while the operator is looking for potential targets, and then attack them. There is no information about the drones, but according to the publication, we are talking about the first Chinese tactical drone CH-901.

Such a UAV is capable of flying in the air without landing for up to 2 hours and reaches a maximum speed of up to 160 km/h. Swarm can also be installed on helicopters.
