Where was the first newspaper printed?

You probably have a bulletin board in your school. When you read them, what do you get? Information! Once upon a time, this was the only newspaper that existed in the world. All information and all news was reported by the government and brought by travelers. The news was posted on special bulletin boards where everyone could read it.

Of course, this cannot be called a real newspaper, since you can take a real newspaper with you wherever you want. So, for the world's first newspaper, we must go to Ancient China. About 1300 years ago, the Chinese government published a newspaper called "Tchin Pao", which meant "News of the Capital". Thus, the government informed its citizens about the most important events.

In ancient Rome, there was also a government newspaper, which was distributed free of charge among the people. It was called Acta Diurna, or Events of the Day. These were the first two newspapers in the world of which we have any information.

And by the XNUMXth century, people already had to pay for a newspaper! In Venice, the government published a newspaper called "Notizie Scritte" ("Written News"), and for one copy of it people paid one gazzetta (such was the monetary unit in Venice).

By the 1663th century, newspapers appeared more or less regularly and contained not only news, but also commentaries on them. One such newspaper was published in London in XNUMX and was called The Informant. Most newspapers were published once a week, which was due to its slow production and delivery.

The first newspaper in America was called Public Events. It first appeared in Boston, Massachusetts, in 1690. Its production was quickly discontinued by the governor of the colony. And from 1729 to 1765, Benjamin Franklin directed the publication of the Pennsylvania Gazette. In 1752 there were only two newspapers in America, but by the time of the American Revolution there were 37!

One of the most influential newspapers, The Times of London first appeared in 1785 and continues to this day.

Artificial leather for touch emulation 15.04.2024

In a modern technology world where distance is becoming increasingly commonplace, maintaining connection and a sense of closeness is important. Recent developments in artificial skin by German scientists from Saarland University represent a new era in virtual interactions. German researchers from Saarland University have developed ultra-thin films that can transmit the sensation of touch over a distance. This cutting-edge technology provides new opportunities for virtual communication, especially for those who find themselves far from their loved ones. The ultra-thin films developed by the researchers, just 50 micrometers thick, can be integrated into textiles and worn like a second skin. These films act as sensors that recognize tactile signals from mom or dad, and as actuators that transmit these movements to the baby. Parents' touch to the fabric activates sensors that react to pressure and deform the ultra-thin film. This ... >>
