Why is the earth hot inside?

The thickness of the outer part of the earth's crust in different places ranges from 15 to 50 km, and its temperature increases as it approaches the center of the earth. Approximately every 40 m it increases by one degree. At a depth of three kilometers it is so hot that if you lower a glass of water there, it will begin to boil!

If it were possible to descend 50 km deep into the earth's surface, then the thermometer would show 1100 ° C. In such conditions, even rocks begin to melt. According to scientists, in the center of the Earth the temperature reaches 5500 °C.

The earth's crust consists of two layers. The upper one is the granite slabs of the continents. Beneath it is a thick layer of very hard black rock called basalt. It forms oceanic depressions, and continents rest on it. The center of the Earth, according to scientists, is a hot ball of liquid iron with a diameter of about 6500 km.

Why is this the case? According to most scientific theories, the Earth once separated from the Sun. It was a fiery mass of gaseous, liquid and solid substances when it began to revolve around the Sun.

Over time, this mass cooled down somewhat and decreased in volume, gradually, due to constant rotation, taking the form of a ball slightly flattened at the poles. Finally, it cooled down so much that a hard crust formed on its surface.

No one can say how long this process lasted, but the available facts indicate that, apparently, the core of the Earth, hidden under a solid shell, still remains the very original fire-breathing mass.

The British airline EasyJet organized a survey of passengers to find out which seat they consider the best in the cabin of an airliner.

It turned out that the passengers of the British low-cost airline consider the 7F seat to be the best - by the window in the seventh row. It is located on the right side of the aircraft and is the first choice for discounted fares that an airline usually offers for short haul flights.
