Footage (from the English footages - frames), a rather broad concept. In fact, footage is the basis for creating a video composition, and can also be a constructor for making your own, exclusive footage. So what are footages?

Footages are video compositions, which may include: video series, animated backgrounds, 3D elements, animated titles, transactions, and so-called particles.

Animated backgrounds are a collection of images with a given motion trajectory.

3D elements are animated objects created in 3D Max and Maya packages. MDE (Motion Design Elements) - Animated elements.

Transactions - elements of different composition and effects created in Illusion, 3D Max, etc.

Exist three main types of footage:

  • animated backgrounds;
  • overlay masks;
  • MD elements.

The scope of footage, as a rule, is quite wide. A variety of themes allows using these technologies both for editing home video films and for designing television screensavers of the most famous television companies in the world. Footages of wedding and holiday themes have gained wide popularity.

Footages are successfully used in all countries of the world to decorate wedding, children's and holiday films. These beautiful special effects are a powerful weapon in the hands of the editor. Having mastered this technology, you will be able to create an enchanting and beautiful world in your films that will not leave any viewer indifferent.

It so happened that the main, universal format for footage is Quick Time Movie. There are two main types of files: based on the alpha channel, or without it. Footages with alpha channel are overlay masks, titles, MD elements, transactions. Footage without alpha channel, can be used as a backdrop for the main composition, titles, DVD menu. And also, serve as the basis for the original overlay mask, by means of the so-called background cutting through the gradient mask (dullness of the track).

Most footages are video compositions of a cyclic type, that is, the entry and exit points perfectly match in movement. As a result of repeated insertion of the same footage into the Time line, the duration of the composition can be increased to the desired length.

A well-executed film is a combination of many factors. Of course, this is the plot basis, or script, high-quality footage, but not an unimportant factor influencing, in the end, the best perception of the submitted material by the client is editing.

High-quality special effects and music will help you create a special mood, convey the fullness of sensations. Footages and smart sounds are best suited for such tasks.

The limitless possibilities that open up before the editor, when using these developments, not only give you a chance to raise the film to a qualitatively new level, but also in many cases solve more complex tasks, namely, correct some mistakes that sometimes even the most experienced video operators.

Truly, footage is a universal solution for processing video material, and is simply necessary for everyone who is somehow connected with video production.

Artificial leather for touch emulation 15.04.2024

In a modern technology world where distance is becoming increasingly commonplace, maintaining connection and a sense of closeness is important. Recent developments in artificial skin by German scientists from Saarland University represent a new era in virtual interactions. German researchers from Saarland University have developed ultra-thin films that can transmit the sensation of touch over a distance. This cutting-edge technology provides new opportunities for virtual communication, especially for those who find themselves far from their loved ones. The ultra-thin films developed by the researchers, just 50 micrometers thick, can be integrated into textiles and worn like a second skin. These films act as sensors that recognize tactile signals from mom or dad, and as actuators that transmit these movements to the baby. Parents' touch to the fabric activates sensors that react to pressure and deform the ultra-thin film. This ... >>

The Petgugu cat litter bowl is designed for use with water-soluble litters and offers a range of additional ... >>

The attractiveness of caring men 14.04.2024

The stereotype that women prefer "bad boys" has long been widespread. However, recent research conducted by British scientists from Monash University offers a new perspective on this issue. They looked at how women responded to men's emotional responsibility and willingness to help others. The study's findings could change our understanding of what makes men attractive to women. A study conducted by scientists from Monash University leads to new findings about men's attractiveness to women. In the experiment, women were shown photographs of men with brief stories about their behavior in various situations, including their reaction to an encounter with a homeless person. Some of the men ignored the homeless man, while others helped him, such as buying him food. A study found that men who showed empathy and kindness were more attractive to women compared to men who showed empathy and kindness. ... >>

Poor sleep increases atherosclerosis 23.02.2019

Atherosclerotic plaques that appear on the inner walls of blood vessels are not only composed of lipids. Connective tissue proteins, vascular wall cells, and, most importantly, immune cells are involved in the formation of plaques - they try to absorb excess lipids and various cellular debris, but they cannot cope with this task, and eventually begin to secrete inflammatory signals. And inflammation, in turn, stimulates the further growth of the plaque.

Medical statistics show that atherosclerosis is exacerbated by poor sleep - even if you take into account factors such as obesity, diabetes, etc., you can still see a connection between the way a person sleeps and the development of atherosclerosis. The immune system, like much else in our body, is subject to sleep-wake cycles, so it can be assumed that poor sleep is associated with atherosclerosis precisely through the immune system.

Scientists at the Massachusetts General Hospital experimented with mice: the animals were kept awake by regularly pushing them with a stick that moved over the floor of the cage - the mice constantly had to wake up and step over it. Although all of the experimental mice were initially predisposed to atherosclerosis, those who had to sleep in snatches, things were worse with blood vessels than those who slept normally. At the same time, they more actively formed leukocytes in the bone marrow, and in the blood there were especially a lot of two types of leukocytes - monocytes and neutrophils.

It turned out that in mice that were not allowed to sleep, little of the protein hypocretin (or orexin) was produced in the hypothalamus. Hypocretin regulates, firstly, appetite and energy balance, and secondly, sleep: it makes you eat more and helps you stay awake. If little hypocretin is synthesized in the hypothalamus, then the brain begins to sleep; it is known that malfunctions with hypocretin often lead to narcolepsy.

Further experiments showed that if hypocretin synthesis was turned off in mice, they would also have many white blood cells and atherosclerosis would increase - like those mice that were not allowed to sleep. But why did animals that were not allowed to sleep have low levels of hypocretin? Because the neurons that synthesized it could not cope with such a regime and, due to overload, stopped synthesizing it. Stem cells in the bone marrow, from which leukocytes should be obtained, felt that there was not enough hypocretin (these cells have special receptors for it), and in response they began to actively produce neutrophils with monocytes. And those, in turn, having entered the bloodstream, were included in the atherosclerotic process: the more leukocytes in the blood became, the more actively atherosclerotic plaques grew.
