TRIZ. Try your hand

Let me remind you of the techniques we have learned in this chapter:

6. Connect objects into a single system.

7. Divide objects (or system) into parts.

8. Make the system dynamic, changing.

9. Add ferromagnetic powder and apply magnetic field.

You also learned the rules of Su-Field analysis: about the completion and destruction of Su-Fields and how to introduce substances if they cannot be introduced...

Now it remains to practice. Here are some tasks. Please note: when deciding, you need to use techniques and rules. Get out of the habit of looking for a solution blindly, randomly sorting through the options.

Problem 24

In the sea, not far from the coast, a dredger was working: deepening the bottom, clearing the way for ships. The soil raised from the bottom of the sea was mixed with sea water and pumped through pipes for five kilometers. Pipes floated behind the dredger in a huge tail, curving on the waves. They were kept afloat by empty iron barrels-pontoons.

"Storm warning received," the shift leader said. - We have to stop working. We'll have to disconnect the "tail", lead it into cover. And then reattach. Think we'll lose a day.

- What can you do, - the mechanic shrugged. - If the storm breaks the pipes, it will be worse.

TRIZ. Try your hand

And then an inventor appeared.

- You can work all the storms in spite of he said. - It's just that the "pipe - pontoons" system should become ...

What should this system become and how will it work during a storm?

Problem 25. SCREW FOR CARLSON

Once the director of Detsky Mir came to the toy factory and said to the chief engineer:

- Buyers ask Carlson, but there is no such doll. Tears every day... Help me out!

- We have two samples of dolls, - the chief engineer answered him. - Look here...

One doll was exactly the same as drawn in books, but did not fly. The other had a large screw behind his back - much larger than Carlson himself. The doll could not stand, but it could be launched - like a toy helicopter.

"Bad," the director sighed. - One doll is similar, but does not fly. Another one flies, but it doesn't look like it at all: some kind of windmill, not Carlson...

- A technical contradiction, - the engineer spread his hands. - If you make a small propeller, Carlson will not fly, the propeller will not have enough strength. A large screw spoils the appearance, the doll does not stand on its feet. I just don't know how to...

TRIZ. Try your hand

And then, of course, an inventor appeared.

"Let's move on to the physical contradiction," he said. - The screw must be large and the screw must not be large. Of course, you have to take advantage of...

What method and how to use?

Problem 26. TEN THOUSAND PYRAMIDOS

One laboratory was developing a new diamond grinding tool. The tool turned out great, but it was very difficult to make it. Tiny diamond grains, which had the shape of pyramids, had to be manually laid with the top up.

TRIZ. Try your hand

- Ten thousand pyramids - and all by hand, - laboratory assistants were indignant. - Why did no one think about how to mechanize this work?

- They thought, - the head of the laboratory answered. - Yes, but they didn’t come up with anything worthwhile.

And then an inventor appeared.

“Nice problem,” he said. - You need to remember the reception ...

What trick should be remembered? How to mechanize the stacking of diamond grains?

Problem 27. A BEAUTIFUL CAR

At the exhibition, the engineer explained to visitors:

Previously, fruits were packed into boxes and boxes by hand, but now this is done by a machine. You see, the conveyor brings an empty box to the table. Fruit rolls down the top of the tray. An electric motor makes the table vibrate so that the fruits fit more tightly. A wonderful car, but ... there is a drawback: when falling into a box, the fruits hit each other and deteriorate from this.

You can lower the tray, on which the fruit rolls, right to the bottom of the box, suggested one of the visitors.

- You can, of course, sighed the engineer. But as the box fills, you will have to lift it. This means that we need an automatic system that will monitor the filling of containers and raise the tray. The car will get harder. Drop the box? Even harder...

And then an inventor appeared.

One orange hits another, he said. The task is to destroy her field. Take...

And he explained how to make sure that even the most delicate fruits do not break when falling into the box.

What do you suggest?

Problem 28

In one city, they decided to build a fountain.

A competition was announced, projects submitted by different architects were considered.

Nothing original!

- All this has already happened, - the chairman of the jury said sadly. - I wanted our fountain to be different from all the fountains in the world.

- What can you think of? - spread his hands a member of the jury. - Fountains have been built for a long time. And the principle is the same - intersecting jets. Here in one project it was proposed to light a fire inside the jet. It's not new either! There are already fountains with fire, light, color music...

And then an inventor appeared.

“I propose a fountain that is nowhere to be found,” he said. - It will be a beautiful, amazing sight!

Try to guess what the inventor suggested. Or maybe you will be able to develop his idea and make a new invention? ..

Machine for thinning flowers in gardens 02.05.2024

In modern agriculture, technological progress is developing aimed at increasing the efficiency of plant care processes. The innovative Florix flower thinning machine was presented in Italy, designed to optimize the harvesting stage. This tool is equipped with mobile arms, allowing it to be easily adapted to the needs of the garden. The operator can adjust the speed of the thin wires by controlling them from the tractor cab using a joystick. This approach significantly increases the efficiency of the flower thinning process, providing the possibility of individual adjustment to the specific conditions of the garden, as well as the variety and type of fruit grown in it. After testing the Florix machine for two years on various types of fruit, the results were very encouraging. Farmers such as Filiberto Montanari, who has used a Florix machine for several years, have reported a significant reduction in the time and labor required to thin flowers. ... >>

Advanced Infrared Microscope 02.05.2024

Microscopes play an important role in scientific research, allowing scientists to delve into structures and processes invisible to the eye. However, various microscopy methods have their limitations, and among them was the limitation of resolution when using the infrared range. But the latest achievements of Japanese researchers from the University of Tokyo open up new prospects for studying the microworld. Scientists from the University of Tokyo have unveiled a new microscope that will revolutionize the capabilities of infrared microscopy. This advanced instrument allows you to see the internal structures of living bacteria with amazing clarity on the nanometer scale. Typically, mid-infrared microscopes are limited by low resolution, but the latest development from Japanese researchers overcomes these limitations. According to scientists, the developed microscope allows creating images with a resolution of up to 120 nanometers, which is 30 times higher than the resolution of traditional microscopes. ... >>

Air trap for insects 01.05.2024

Agriculture is one of the key sectors of the economy, and pest control is an integral part of this process. A team of scientists from the Indian Council of Agricultural Research-Central Potato Research Institute (ICAR-CPRI), Shimla, has come up with an innovative solution to this problem - a wind-powered insect air trap. This device addresses the shortcomings of traditional pest control methods by providing real-time insect population data. The trap is powered entirely by wind energy, making it an environmentally friendly solution that requires no power. Its unique design allows monitoring of both harmful and beneficial insects, providing a complete overview of the population in any agricultural area. “By assessing target pests at the right time, we can take necessary measures to control both pests and diseases,” says Kapil ... >>

The SIM card will become 2 times smaller 12.06.2012

Nano-SIMs will be half the size of today's SIM cards. Its use will allow phone manufacturers to more rationally allocate space inside devices.

The European Telecommunications Standards Institute (ETSI) has chosen the final Nano-SIM standard to be used in cell phones. This was reported by the press service of the organization. "Modern SIM-cards occupy a significant space inside mobile devices. But with the expansion of functionality, this space becomes more and more valuable," the official statement says.

The SIM card of the new standard will be 40% smaller than the SIM card of the Micro-SIM format. Its dimensions will be 12,3 x 8,8 mm. By comparison, the Micro-SIM is 15 x 12mm, while the Mini-SIM, which is still used in many cell phones, including newer models, is 25 x 15mm. The thickness of the new module will be 0,67 mm against the current 0,76 mm.

The new SIM card will have the same functionality as existing SIM cards. And it will be backwards compatible with current standards, the press service of the standardizing organization added.

The SIM card (from Subscriber Identification Module - Subscriber Identification Module) contains a chip that allows you to associate a mobile device with a user's subscriber number and account. The module protects against fraud in mobile networks and can also be used to store contacts and SMS messages. According to ETSI, to date, over 25 billion SIM cards have been sold by operators worldwide. Over 4,5 billion new modules are produced annually.
