Artificial leather for touch emulation 15.04.2024

In a modern technology world where distance is becoming increasingly commonplace, maintaining connection and a sense of closeness is important. Recent developments in artificial skin by German scientists from Saarland University represent a new era in virtual interactions. German researchers from Saarland University have developed ultra-thin films that can transmit the sensation of touch over a distance. This cutting-edge technology provides new opportunities for virtual communication, especially for those who find themselves far from their loved ones. The ultra-thin films developed by the researchers, just 50 micrometers thick, can be integrated into textiles and worn like a second skin. These films act as sensors that recognize tactile signals from mom or dad, and as actuators that transmit these movements to the baby. Parents' touch to the fabric activates sensors that react to pressure and deform the ultra-thin film. This ... >>

Environmentally friendly batteries 22.08.2021

Perhaps soon ordinary batteries, inside which there is a dangerous toxic cocktail, will become a thing of the past. In India, Aloe E-Cell, a startup, created innovative batteries, one of the ingredients of which was aloe vera.

These are the world's first absolutely safe for nature and environmentally friendly batteries. The principle of their work is based on the conversion of the chemical energy of the plant into electrical energy.

During development, it was decided to replace the dangerous chemicals contained in conventional batteries with a plant-based electrolyte. As a result, the production managed to abandon the use of mercury and other metals hazardous to health.

The result of the work of the team of inventors are batteries that do not pollute the soil and are safe for both humans and plants and animals.
