Origin: From Latin: Ubi bene ibi patria. The primary source of this expression is the comedy "Plutus" ("Wealth") by the ancient Greek playwright Aristophanes (445-385 BC), in which there are such words: "Homeland is any country where a person feels good." These words became popular thanks to the orator and writer Cicero (Mark Tullius Cicero, 106-43 BC), who put these words into wide circulation. In his essay Tusculan Conversations, he wrote: Patria est, ubicumque est bene - Homeland is wherever it is good. The expression became popular in a more lapidary form (as an epitaph).
