Sweet life

"Sweet life"
"Sweet life"

Phraseologism: Sweet life.

Meaning: Comfortable, carefree, full of pleasure life.

Origin: From Italian: "La dolce vita". Title of the film (1959) by the Italian director Federico Fellini (1920-1993) based on his own script (with the participation of E. Flaiano). And before the appearance of the film, this Italian expression was winged, but the film added to its popularity. Sometimes the expression is used in the original language: the Russian transliteration is "la dolce vita".

Random phraseology:

Superman.

Meaning:

Usually used in a Nietzschean sense, but usually ironically.

Origin:

The word became winged after the publication of the book "Thus Spoke Zarathustra" (1883) by the German philosopher Friedrich Nietzsche (1844-1900). who meant by the concept of "superman" a representative of the "race of masters", who is above the "morality of slaves." The very word "superman" in German literature existed long before Nietzsche, who only made it popular by filling it with a different meaning. German theologians of the 1th century. in their writings they called a perfect Christian, that is, a person full of all Christian virtues and, therefore, as close as possible to God. With this theological meaning of the word in mind, Goethe sneers at the concept of "superman" in his dramatic poem "Faust" (scene XNUMX).

Artificial leather for touch emulation 15.04.2024

In a modern technology world where distance is becoming increasingly commonplace, maintaining connection and a sense of closeness is important. Recent developments in artificial skin by German scientists from Saarland University represent a new era in virtual interactions. German researchers from Saarland University have developed ultra-thin films that can transmit the sensation of touch over a distance. This cutting-edge technology provides new opportunities for virtual communication, especially for those who find themselves far from their loved ones. The ultra-thin films developed by the researchers, just 50 micrometers thick, can be integrated into textiles and worn like a second skin. These films act as sensors that recognize tactile signals from mom or dad, and as actuators that transmit these movements to the baby. Parents' touch to the fabric activates sensors that react to pressure and deform the ultra-thin film. This ... >>

Petgugu Global cat litter 15.04.2024

Taking care of pets can often be a challenge, especially when it comes to keeping your home clean. Startup Petgugu Global has unveiled a unique cat toilet that can automatically flush feces, keeping your home clean and fresh. This innovative device is equipped with various smart sensors that monitor your pet's toilet activity and activate to automatically clean after use. The device connects to the sewer system and ensures efficient waste removal without the need for intervention from the owner. Additionally, the toilet has a large flushable storage capacity, making it ideal for multi-cat households. The Petgugu cat litter bowl is designed for use with water-soluble litters and offers a range of additional ... >>

The attractiveness of caring men 14.04.2024

The stereotype that women prefer "bad boys" has long been widespread. However, recent research conducted by British scientists from Monash University offers a new perspective on this issue. They looked at how women responded to men's emotional responsibility and willingness to help others. The study's findings could change our understanding of what makes men attractive to women. A study conducted by scientists from Monash University leads to new findings about men's attractiveness to women. In the experiment, women were shown photographs of men with brief stories about their behavior in various situations, including their reaction to an encounter with a homeless person. Some of the men ignored the homeless man, while others helped him, such as buying him food. A study found that men who showed empathy and kindness were more attractive to women compared to men who showed empathy and kindness. ... >>

MAX44205 and MAX44206 - new low-noise differential op amps 15.04.2015

The MAX44205 and MAX44206 from Maxim Integrated are low-noise, fully differential operational amplifiers designed to operate with precision, high-speed, 16/18/20-bit analog-to-digital converters (such as the MAX11905).

The unique combination of characteristics, wide supply voltage range (+2,7...+13,2 V), low power consumption and wide bandwidth allow them to be used in high-performance, low-power data acquisition systems.

Both amplifiers, through the VCOM output, allow you to control the common-mode output voltage, which in some cases allows you to significantly simplify the circuitry of the measuring channel and normalize the constant component of the output signal according to the requirements of the ADC.

The MAX44205 features an optional output voltage limiting feature that limits the output voltage to within the full scale of the ADC when the amplifier supply voltage is higher than the converter's maximum input voltage.

In low power mode, the current consumption of the amplifiers is only 6.8 µA, which increases battery life in stand-alone measurement systems or allows you to simply reduce the power consumption of the entire system between measurements.

Output code histogram of the MAX20 11905-bit successive approximation ADC in conjunction with the MAX44205. Conversion rate 1 MSPS, averaged over 64 measurements, inputs looped to each other.

The amplifiers are available in miniature but solder-friendly packages. Operating temperature range from -40 to +125°C.
