O my youth! O my freshness!

Gogol N.V.
Gogol N.V.

Phraseologism: O my youth! O my freshness!

Meaning: About the days of youth (jokingly-iron.).

Origin: From the poem "Dead Souls" (1842) by N.V. Gogol (1809-1852) (part 1, ch. 6): "... That which would have awakened in previous years a living movement in the face, laughter and incessant speeches now glides past, and my motionless lips keep an indifferent silence. O my youth! O my freshness." I. S. Turgenev used this expression, slightly changing it, and called one of his prose poems like this - "O my youth! O my freshness!" (1882).

Random phraseology:

Grandmother said in two.

Meaning:

It is not known whether what they assume, what they expect will come true.

Origin:

The expression is formed by truncation of the proverb "Grandma said in two: either rain or snow, either it will or not." It is also assumed that the expression and proverb are associated with divination as a remnant of pagan beliefs. Grandmothers are healers, fortune-tellers who predicted fate, weather, spoke from illness or evil eye. The proverb and phraseological unit reflected an ironic attitude to fortune-telling.

Artificial leather for touch emulation 15.04.2024

In a modern technology world where distance is becoming increasingly commonplace, maintaining connection and a sense of closeness is important. Recent developments in artificial skin by German scientists from Saarland University represent a new era in virtual interactions. German researchers from Saarland University have developed ultra-thin films that can transmit the sensation of touch over a distance. This cutting-edge technology provides new opportunities for virtual communication, especially for those who find themselves far from their loved ones. The ultra-thin films developed by the researchers, just 50 micrometers thick, can be integrated into textiles and worn like a second skin. These films act as sensors that recognize tactile signals from mom or dad, and as actuators that transmit these movements to the baby. Parents' touch to the fabric activates sensors that react to pressure and deform the ultra-thin film. This ... >>

Chocolate is not just a delicacy, but the mood and health of women 10.02.2024

Chocolate is not only a delicious treat, but also a powerful stimulator of endorphins and serotonin, which have a beneficial effect on mood and help reduce stress levels. This explains why one in four women consider chocolate the most enjoyable source of pleasure. The data comes from a survey conducted by the Italian Society of Gynecology and Obstetrics (Sigo).

For many women, chocolate is one of the strongest passions after intimacy. In addition, this product helps reduce pain. During premenstrual syndrome, about 68% of women use it, and during menstruation - up to 83%.

The study results indicate that chocolate improves mood in 97% of women surveyed and promotes feelings of arousal in 50% of them. They note that this delicacy relieves menstrual pain, eliminates headaches, relieves bloating and helps with insomnia.

The study confirmed that chocolate is an excellent aphrodisiac. Doctors note that women who regularly consume chocolate tend to be more sexually active and enjoy their sex life more.

It is important to note that the positive effects are associated specifically with dark chocolate, which contains more cocoa and less sugar compared to milk. Moderate consumption is limited to a few pieces per day, which helps avoid excess calories and sugar intake. People with high blood sugar levels should control their chocolate intake.

Chocolate, especially dark chocolate, is not only a tasty treat, but also a healthy product that can influence the mood and general condition of women. By supporting the production of endorphins and serotonin, it can be an integral part of your health and well-being. It is important to remember in moderation and choose a quality product for maximum benefit.
