Do not lose your sorrowful work

Pushkin A.S.
Pushkin A.S.

Phraseologism: Your hard work will not be wasted.

Meaning: In modern speech, it is jokingly-ironically quoted as a way to encourage, encourage, wish success in solving any problems.

Origin: From the poem "In the depths of the Siberian ores ..." (1827) by A. S. Pushkin (1799-1837): "In the depths of the Siberian ores // Keep proud patience, // Your mournful work will not be lost // And thoughts of high aspiration" .

Random phraseology:

I'm going to you.

Meaning:

About the intention to enter into confrontation, dispute, dispute, etc.

Origin:

The legendary expression of the famous commander of Ancient Russia, the Grand Duke of Kyiv Svyatoslav I Igorevich (955-972). Before the start of hostilities, he sent a messenger to the enemy with a brief message: "I want to go against you" (in Old Russian, the accusative coincided with the nominative). Thus, saying to the enemy: "I'm coming at you," Svyatoslav deliberately warned him about his military plans, which at first glance contradicts common sense. But Svyatoslav had his own calculation. He wanted to avoid grueling campaigns across the steppe, battles with separate detachments, surprise raids, ambushes and other things that inevitably make the war long and ineffective. He wanted the enemy to gather his forces in one place, and then they could be defeated in one decisive battle. Moreover, for victory in an open field - in a large frontal clash - the Kyiv prince had more chances than his usual opponents, nomadic peoples. Unlike the steppes, Svyatoslav's army was disciplined and attacked the enemy with a kind of ancient Russian phalanx - the "wall". The "wall" consisted of 20 long lines of warriors, each of which had a shield the height of a man, a long spear, a long sword, a bow with arrows and a boot knife for close combat. But it usually didn’t come to knives: the “wall” did not lose its formation and, covered with closed shields, dealt a powerful blow to the enemy with spears of the first, second and third rows. The Old Russian phalanx was even stronger on the defensive. Participating in campaigns from the age of four (Princess Olga, going on a campaign against the Drevlyans, once took her son with her, who started the battle, first throwing his children's spear), Svyatoslav was an experienced, successful commander. And already with his mere notice of the beginning of the war, he brought confusion into the ranks of the enemy, forcing him to prepare for the rati with a bad feeling. We can say that Prince Svyatoslav was the first in the history of Russian weapons to begin to use the methods of information and psychological warfare.

Artificial leather for touch emulation 15.04.2024

In a modern technology world where distance is becoming increasingly commonplace, maintaining connection and a sense of closeness is important. Recent developments in artificial skin by German scientists from Saarland University represent a new era in virtual interactions. German researchers from Saarland University have developed ultra-thin films that can transmit the sensation of touch over a distance. This cutting-edge technology provides new opportunities for virtual communication, especially for those who find themselves far from their loved ones. The ultra-thin films developed by the researchers, just 50 micrometers thick, can be integrated into textiles and worn like a second skin. These films act as sensors that recognize tactile signals from mom or dad, and as actuators that transmit these movements to the baby. Parents' touch to the fabric activates sensors that react to pressure and deform the ultra-thin film. This ... >>

The attractiveness of caring men 14.04.2024

The stereotype that women prefer "bad boys" has long been widespread. However, recent research conducted by British scientists from Monash University offers a new perspective on this issue. They looked at how women responded to men's emotional responsibility and willingness to help others. The study's findings could change our understanding of what makes men attractive to women. A study conducted by scientists from Monash University leads to new findings about men's attractiveness to women. In the experiment, women were shown photographs of men with brief stories about their behavior in various situations, including their reaction to an encounter with a homeless person. Some of the men ignored the homeless man, while others helped him, such as buying him food. Network video intercom Axis A8004-VE 19.04.2015

Axis Communications announced the release of the Axis A8004-VE network video intercom. It includes an intercom that provides two-way voice communication without echo, as well as a built-in HDTV camera with WDR function. The network video intercom provides identification of incoming and outgoing people in daylight and at night, even under adverse operating conditions.

The Axis A8004-VE is available in a weatherproof and vandal resistant housing and is suitable for both indoor and outdoor installations. Thanks to Power over Ethernet technology, a single network cable is enough to connect the station, while the power supply is enough to support the operation of most standard door locks and control them directly from the video station.

When used as part of small and medium-sized systems, such as in retail stores or offices, the Axis A8004-VE network video intercom will not only improve the security of office premises and surrounding areas, but also increase the efficiency of daily work. The network video intercom provides contact and identification of visitors and supports remote access control from a fixed IP phone, mobile device or directly through a video management system (VMS).

The Axis A8004-VE network video intercom is designed based on open standards and application programming interfaces (APIs) and is also suitable for large-scale installations, such as airports, where integration of various systems is required, such as video surveillance, physical access control and IP telephony. Full compatibility with standards and the ONVIF standard, the VAPIX interface and the SIP protocol makes it extremely easy to integrate the device with other systems. This enables Axis' application development partners to provide customers with solutions tailored to their specific needs.

The new device is compatible with Axis Camera Station 4.20, which is scheduled for release in May. In addition, full support for the Axis A8004-VE network video intercom will be available from day one in the video management software of Axis' application development partners Genetec, Aimetis and SeeTec.

The network video intercom will be presented for the first time at MIPS 2015 at the Axis Communications booth. The device will go on sale through the Axis distribution network in May.
