Not a bastard

Proverbs and sayings
Proverbs and sayings

Phraseologism: Not a bastard.

Meaning: He is not devoid of knowledge, abilities, knows how to do something no worse than others (simple).

Origin: The expression is connected both with the fact that the work of weaving bast shoes, baskets, matting, etc. from bast was considered very simple, and with the fact that bast products and shoes were a sign of poverty, of peasant origin. Therefore, initially, not with a bastard, shit meant "he is not one of the simple ones", "he is not such a simpleton."

Random phraseology:

Hands off!

Meaning:

A call not to interfere in the internal affairs of this or that country.

Origin:

From English: "Hands off!" The phrase became a common political slogan thanks to the English Prime Minister and leader of the Liberal Party, William Ewart Gladstone (1809-1898). He uttered these words to Austria, which occupied Bosnia and Herzegovina in the autumn of 1878, and Gladstone stood up for the rights of these countries.

Artificial leather for touch emulation 15.04.2024

In a modern technology world where distance is becoming increasingly commonplace, maintaining connection and a sense of closeness is important. Recent developments in artificial skin by German scientists from Saarland University represent a new era in virtual interactions. German researchers from Saarland University have developed ultra-thin films that can transmit the sensation of touch over a distance. This cutting-edge technology provides new opportunities for virtual communication, especially for those who find themselves far from their loved ones. The ultra-thin films developed by the researchers, just 50 micrometers thick, can be integrated into textiles and worn like a second skin. These films act as sensors that recognize tactile signals from mom or dad, and as actuators that transmit these movements to the baby. Parents' touch to the fabric activates sensors that react to pressure and deform the ultra-thin film. This ... >>

The attractiveness of caring men 14.04.2024

The stereotype that women prefer "bad boys" has long been widespread. However, recent research conducted by British scientists from Monash University offers a new perspective on this issue. They looked at how women responded to men's emotional responsibility and willingness to help others. The study's findings could change our understanding of what makes men attractive to women. A study conducted by scientists from Monash University leads to new findings about men's attractiveness to women. In the experiment, women were shown photographs of men with brief stories about their behavior in various situations, including their reaction to an encounter with a homeless person. Some of the men ignored the homeless man, while others helped him, such as buying him food. A study found that men who showed empathy and kindness were more attractive to women compared to men who showed empathy and kindness. ... >>

Subminiature TransferJet Module 15.03.2014

Specialists of the Japanese company Toshiba have created the world's smallest wireless communication module and an antenna for it in the form of a flexible printed circuit board. These components are compatible with TransferJet short range wireless technology.

The operation of TransferJet is based on the principle of a resonant transformer. The transmission speed reaches 375 Mbps. The developer expects that TransferJet technology will be widely used in mobile devices due to low power consumption, high speed and exceptional ease of use. The company believes that the growing demand for high-speed wireless communication between electronic devices will increase the demand for modules and antennas (essentially resonant transformer windings) that can be easily integrated into consumer electronics devices.

The module in question measures 4,8 x 4,8 x 1,0mm and the PCB-style antenna is only 0,12mm thick. The key to miniaturization was the volumetric integration of the chip onto the module substrate and the use of molecular bonding technology. The manufacturer notes that with this, measures were taken to reduce parasitic capacitance, which could adversely affect the transmission of a signal with a spectrum of 560 MHz.

Introductory module samples are already available, flexible antenna samples will appear this month.
