Phraseologism: Brevity is the soul of wit.

Meaning: Advice "(to the writer, speaker) to be brief, to state only the essence of the matter (jokingly-iron.).

Origin: From a letter dated April 11, 1889, from Anton Pavlovich Chekhov (I860-1904) to his brother Alexander: "Did you write a play? [...] My advice: in a play, try to be original and as smart as possible, but don't be afraid to look stupid, freethinking is needed, but only that freethinker who is not afraid to write nonsense. Do not lick, do not grind, but be clumsy and impudent. Brevity is the sister of talent "(Poln. sobr. soch. T. XIV. M., 1949).

Random phraseology:

Not yet evening.

Vysotsky as the title of one of his songs (1968), became the title of the film (1975), directed by Nikolai Rozantsev based on the script by M. Ganin, and also sounded like a refrain in the song (published . 1985) by R. Pauls, written to the verses of the poet I. Reznik.

Artificial leather for touch emulation 15.04.2024

In a modern technology world where distance is becoming increasingly commonplace, maintaining connection and a sense of closeness is important. Recent developments in artificial skin by German scientists from Saarland University represent a new era in virtual interactions. German researchers from Saarland University have developed ultra-thin films that can transmit the sensation of touch over a distance. This cutting-edge technology provides new opportunities for virtual communication, especially for those who find themselves far from their loved ones. The ultra-thin films developed by the researchers, just 50 micrometers thick, can be integrated into textiles and worn like a second skin. These films act as sensors that recognize tactile signals from mom or dad, and as actuators that transmit these movements to the baby. Parents' touch to the fabric activates sensors that react to pressure and deform the ultra-thin film. This ... >>
