Focus Description:

The magician makes three out of one coin.

Focus secret:

Take out three coins of the same denomination and year of issue and discreetly stick two of them with wax to the bottom of the table a centimeter from the edge and 20-25 cm from one another.

Announce to the audience that you will be teaching them how to make money. Roll up your sleeves, take the third coin in your right hand and pay special attention to the year of issue, its appearance and the fact that no other coin is hidden in your hands.

With the tablecloth folded back, rub the coin back and forth with the pad of your thumb along the edge of the table. During this action, your fingers will involuntarily be under the edge.

After rubbing it for a few seconds, say, "It's almost done because the coin is heating up." Rub it for a minute or two very quickly, and just as quickly withdraw your hand, peeling off one of the coins. As you show another coin to the audience, say that it came from friction.

After putting the waxed coin in your pocket and again showing that you have only one coin in your hands, repeat the same with the remaining coin.

Artificial leather for touch emulation 15.04.2024

In a modern technology world where distance is becoming increasingly commonplace, maintaining connection and a sense of closeness is important. Recent developments in artificial skin by German scientists from Saarland University represent a new era in virtual interactions. German researchers from Saarland University have developed ultra-thin films that can transmit the sensation of touch over a distance. This cutting-edge technology provides new opportunities for virtual communication, especially for those who find themselves far from their loved ones. The ultra-thin films developed by the researchers, just 50 micrometers thick, can be integrated into textiles and worn like a second skin. These films act as sensors that recognize tactile signals from mom or dad, and as actuators that transmit these movements to the baby. Parents' touch to the fabric activates sensors that react to pressure and deform the ultra-thin film. This ... >>

The attractiveness of caring men 14.04.2024

The stereotype that women prefer "bad boys" has long been widespread. However, recent research conducted by British scientists from Monash University offers a new perspective on this issue. They looked at how women responded to men's emotional responsibility and willingness to help others. The study's findings could change our understanding of what makes men attractive to women. A study conducted by scientists from Monash University leads to new findings about men's attractiveness to women. In the experiment, women were shown photographs of men with brief stories about their behavior in various situations, including their reaction to an encounter with a homeless person. Some of the men ignored the homeless man, while others helped him, such as buying him food. A study found that men who showed empathy and kindness were more attractive to women compared to men who showed empathy and kindness. ... >>

Ice on Mercury 01.11.2014

Mercury is the closest planet to the Sun, so scientists did not assume the presence of water or ice. During the day, the temperature on the surface of the planet can reach 427 degrees Celsius, and at night it can drop to -180 degrees.

As early as 20 years ago, researchers using radar discovered that radio waves were better reflected in the polar regions of Mercury, which could be due to the presence of ice under the surface.

Since 2012, the Messenger probe has carefully examined craters in the polar regions of Mercury, and now, after processing the photographs taken by it, scientists have been able to identify vast areas with reflective properties, that is, a surface covered with ice. This turned out to be the 113-kilometer Prokofiev crater, named after the famous composer, and the sharp texture of the ice with sharp boundaries indicates that the ice in the crater appeared relatively recently.

Scientists will continue their research and try to find out whether the ice was brought to the planet from the outside or whether there is a constant process of ice renewal on the bottom of the craters on Mercury.
