Focus Description:

On a blank piece of paper, using a simple pencil, draw the outline of a flower. Fill it with water. The drawn flower will gradually bloom. First the stem will turn green, followed by the leaf, and then the flower itself will turn bright red.

Focus secret:

To color a flower you will need aniline powders and a cardboard flower stencil. Take white paper and place the stencil on it.

Fill the entire volume of the flower with bright red aniline powder, temporarily covering the rest of it. Cover the leaf and stem with green aniline powder. Without removing the stencil, carefully blow all the powder off the paper. In places where there was powder, tiny particles of paint will remain. They won't be noticeable. On the back side of the piece of paper, where you will later draw the flower, mark its outline with barely noticeable dots.

Pour water slowly, from the side of the stem. The water will make the paper wet, and the paint through it will gradually color the flower.

Machine for thinning flowers in gardens 02.05.2024

In modern agriculture, technological progress is developing aimed at increasing the efficiency of plant care processes. The innovative Florix flower thinning machine was presented in Italy, designed to optimize the harvesting stage. This tool is equipped with mobile arms, allowing it to be easily adapted to the needs of the garden. The operator can adjust the speed of the thin wires by controlling them from the tractor cab using a joystick. This approach significantly increases the efficiency of the flower thinning process, providing the possibility of individual adjustment to the specific conditions of the garden, as well as the variety and type of fruit grown in it. After testing the Florix machine for two years on various types of fruit, the results were very encouraging. Farmers such as Filiberto Montanari, who has used a Florix machine for several years, have reported a significant reduction in the time and labor required to thin flowers. ... >>

Advanced Infrared Microscope 02.05.2024

Microscopes play an important role in scientific research, allowing scientists to delve into structures and processes invisible to the eye. However, various microscopy methods have their limitations, and among them was the limitation of resolution when using the infrared range. But the latest achievements of Japanese researchers from the University of Tokyo open up new prospects for studying the microworld. Scientists from the University of Tokyo have unveiled a new microscope that will revolutionize the capabilities of infrared microscopy. This advanced instrument allows you to see the internal structures of living bacteria with amazing clarity on the nanometer scale. Typically, mid-infrared microscopes are limited by low resolution, but the latest development from Japanese researchers overcomes these limitations. According to scientists, the developed microscope allows creating images with a resolution of up to 120 nanometers, which is 30 times higher than the resolution of traditional microscopes. ... >>

Air trap for insects 01.05.2024

Agriculture is one of the key sectors of the economy, and pest control is an integral part of this process. A team of scientists from the Indian Council of Agricultural Research-Central Potato Research Institute (ICAR-CPRI), Shimla, has come up with an innovative solution to this problem - a wind-powered insect air trap. This device addresses the shortcomings of traditional pest control methods by providing real-time insect population data. The trap is powered entirely by wind energy, making it an environmentally friendly solution that requires no power. Its unique design allows monitoring of both harmful and beneficial insects, providing a complete overview of the population in any agricultural area. “By assessing target pests at the right time, we can take necessary measures to control both pests and diseases,” says Kapil ... >>

Audi, GM, Honda and Hyundai are moving to Android 11.01.2014

Google has officially announced an alliance with major car manufacturers to better integrate Android devices with in-vehicle systems. Information about the upcoming announcement was published at the end of last month.

Google's Open Automotive Alliance (OAA) initiative has been joined by Audi, GM, Honda and Hyundai. The number of participants also included the American developer of processors Nvidia.

Google believes that in today's world, a consistent user experience across different types of computing devices is of great importance. At the same time, today there are smartphones, and tablets, and laptops, and desktop systems based on Android, while automotive systems drop out of this list.

"Today, millions of people use Android smartphones and tablets in their cars. However, they do not get the right level of convenience," said Patrick Brady, head of Android technical development. "It would be really great if you could bring your favorite apps and music in your car and use them with built-in controls and an on-board display?Together with our OAA partners, we will achieve closer in-car integration with Android devices to improve safety and driving pleasure."

At the same time, the OAA emphasizes that the most important priority for the members of the alliance is to improve road safety. "We do not want the driver to be distracted by anything while driving," the alliance's website says.

Google believes that car manufacturers, users, and application developers will benefit from cooperation. The first and second - due to closer integration of the world's most popular mobile platform, the latter - thanks to the ability to give their applications new features.

The fact that Audi, GM, Honda and Hyundai will equip their cars with infotainment systems directly on Android is not mentioned in the Google statement.

It is noteworthy that Honda and Hyundai also agreed to integrate support for Apple Siri voice control, which is equipped with iPhone and iPad, into their cars. The corresponding announcement was made a year ago. Siri is one of the functions of the Apple iOS mobile platform, the second most popular after Android.

The first Android-enabled vehicles to be developed under the announced partnership are expected to go on sale in late 2014, Google said.
