Focus Description:

On the performer's illusion table is a glass filled with a sparkling drink. The performer takes it from the table and goes to the front of the stage to show the audience. Shaking the glass in his hand, he splashes some of the liquid from the glass onto the floor. Then the magician puts the glass on the palm of his left hand, and with his right, taking a napkin from the table, covers it.

Next, the performer tells the audience that he will drink the contents of the glass through the napkin without lifting it. He takes a few sips through the napkin. Then he quickly removes it from the glass, and the audience sees that the drink has disappeared.

Props:

For this trick, you will need a tea glass, a napkin and a secret glass.

Focus secret:

The secret glass is made of celluloid or plexiglass. Its walls must be very thin. It is filled with any colored liquid and tightly closed with a lid of the same material, securely fastened to the edges of the glass. A small bead is attached to the center of the lid on a short dense thread (fishing line). The height of the secret glass should be equal to the height of the real one. Liquids are poured into a secret glass so much that an empty gap of 1 cm remains between its edge and the liquid level (Fig. 7, A). The prepared secret glass is put into an ordinary glass one and placed in advance on an illusion table, and a napkin is placed next to it. Behind the glass, you need to place a small piece of sponge, moistening it first with water.

Demonstrating this trick, the performer comes to the table and takes a glass. Simultaneously with the glass, he also grabs a piece of sponge with his right hand so that the index, middle and thumb fingers hold the glass, and the ring and little fingers press the sponge to the palm without squeezing moisture out of it. When the performer approaches the ramp and starts rocking the glass, the liquid in it will move and splash against the walls of the secret glass. In order to create the appearance that the drink is splashing out, you should squeeze a wet sponge tightly into your fist, and water will pour out of it onto the floor (Fig. 7, B).

Next, the performer puts a glass of drink on the palm of his left hand and goes to his illusion table. Then he takes a napkin from the table, at the same time leaving an unnecessary piece of sponge on it. Having covered a glass with a napkin, the performer promises the audience to drink this wonderful drink without removing the napkin, and imitates the process of drinking. After that, taking the middle of the napkin with two fingers, he quickly feels the bead through it. Raising the napkin, he pulls out a secret vessel with a drink from the glass and puts it all on the illusion table (Fig. 7, B).

The empty glass remaining in the palm of your hand is shown to the audience.

Machine for thinning flowers in gardens 02.05.2024

In modern agriculture, technological progress is developing aimed at increasing the efficiency of plant care processes. The innovative Florix flower thinning machine was presented in Italy, designed to optimize the harvesting stage. This tool is equipped with mobile arms, allowing it to be easily adapted to the needs of the garden. The operator can adjust the speed of the thin wires by controlling them from the tractor cab using a joystick. This approach significantly increases the efficiency of the flower thinning process, providing the possibility of individual adjustment to the specific conditions of the garden, as well as the variety and type of fruit grown in it. After testing the Florix machine for two years on various types of fruit, the results were very encouraging. Farmers such as Filiberto Montanari, who has used a Florix machine for several years, have reported a significant reduction in the time and labor required to thin flowers. ... >>

Advanced Infrared Microscope 02.05.2024

Microscopes play an important role in scientific research, allowing scientists to delve into structures and processes invisible to the eye. However, various microscopy methods have their limitations, and among them was the limitation of resolution when using the infrared range. But the latest achievements of Japanese researchers from the University of Tokyo open up new prospects for studying the microworld. Scientists from the University of Tokyo have unveiled a new microscope that will revolutionize the capabilities of infrared microscopy. This advanced instrument allows you to see the internal structures of living bacteria with amazing clarity on the nanometer scale. Typically, mid-infrared microscopes are limited by low resolution, but the latest development from Japanese researchers overcomes these limitations. According to scientists, the developed microscope allows creating images with a resolution of up to 120 nanometers, which is 30 times higher than the resolution of traditional microscopes. ... >>

Air trap for insects 01.05.2024

Agriculture is one of the key sectors of the economy, and pest control is an integral part of this process. A team of scientists from the Indian Council of Agricultural Research-Central Potato Research Institute (ICAR-CPRI), Shimla, has come up with an innovative solution to this problem - a wind-powered insect air trap. This device addresses the shortcomings of traditional pest control methods by providing real-time insect population data. The trap is powered entirely by wind energy, making it an environmentally friendly solution that requires no power. Its unique design allows monitoring of both harmful and beneficial insects, providing a complete overview of the population in any agricultural area. “By assessing target pests at the right time, we can take necessary measures to control both pests and diseases,” says Kapil ... >>

CC2591 - high frequency amplifier chip 29.10.2008

Texas Instruments has introduced a highly integrated 2,4 GHz RF amplifier for low power wireless applications. The CC2591 extends the range of wireless systems by combining a power amplifier that boosts output power up to +22dBm and a low noise amplifier that boosts receiver sensitivity up to +6dBm.

The CC2591 is a high performance and cost effective amplifier for all 2,4 GHz wireless systems such as ZigBee-ceTH, measurement sensors, industrial, consumer and audio electronics. The device is able to work with all existing and developing TI 2,4 GHz RF transceivers, transmitters and systems-on-a-chip, which will speed up development time and increase productivity.

"The CC2591 provides such an increase in range and coverage that Paxton Access has for the first time been able to offer its customers a wireless alternative to wired building access and control systems." "The CC2591, combined with the CC2430 system-on-a-chip, will enable us to develop a new generation of wireless access and control systems," said Mark Thompson, director of development at Paxton Access Ltd.

The CC2591 chip contains a power amplifier, a low noise amplifier, a transformer, switches, inductors, and an RF network interface. This unparalleled level of integration simplifies the development of high performance devices and allows customers to build powerful wireless solutions with fewer external components.

The CC2591 is available in a 16x4mm QFN-4 package.
