Focus Description:

The performer holds a blue balloon in one hand and a sewing needle in the other. With a slight movement of his hand, the performer touches the ball with the needle: the ball bursts, but, to the surprise of the audience, instead of the burst ball, another ball appears in the performer’s hand, but this time green!

Props:

1. Two balloons.

2. Sewing needle.

Focus secret:

Before demonstrating the trick, a green ball is placed in the blue ball. Then both take turns inflating, first the outer blue balloon, then the inner green one. The tails of both balls are tightly tied with thread. Now everything is ready to demonstrate the trick.

Focus Chameleon Ball

The secret of this trick is simple, but remember that:

1. The color scheme of the balls must be selected so that there is a darker ball on the outside (blue and green on the inside; or red and yellow on the inside).

2. The outer balloon should be slightly more inflated than the inner one.

3. Touch the ball with the needle lightly so as not to pierce the inner secret ball.

4. Before placing the ball into the ball, you should sprinkle the inner ball with talcum powder. This is done so that the balloons do not stick to each other when inflated.

Artificial leather for touch emulation 15.04.2024

In a modern technology world where distance is becoming increasingly commonplace, maintaining connection and a sense of closeness is important. Recent developments in artificial skin by German scientists from Saarland University represent a new era in virtual interactions. German researchers from Saarland University have developed ultra-thin films that can transmit the sensation of touch over a distance. This cutting-edge technology provides new opportunities for virtual communication, especially for those who find themselves far from their loved ones. The ultra-thin films developed by the researchers, just 50 micrometers thick, can be integrated into textiles and worn like a second skin. These films act as sensors that recognize tactile signals from mom or dad, and as actuators that transmit these movements to the baby. Parents' touch to the fabric activates sensors that react to pressure and deform the ultra-thin film. This ... >>

The attractiveness of caring men 14.04.2024

The stereotype that women prefer "bad boys" has long been widespread. However, recent research conducted by British scientists from Monash University offers a new perspective on this issue. They looked at how women responded to men's emotional responsibility and willingness to help others. The study's findings could change our understanding of what makes men attractive to women. A study conducted by scientists from Monash University leads to new findings about men's attractiveness to women. In the experiment, women were shown photographs of men with brief stories about their behavior in various situations, including their reaction to an encounter with a homeless person. Some of the men ignored the homeless man, while others helped him, such as buying him food. A study found that men who showed empathy and kindness were more attractive to women compared to men who showed empathy and kindness. ... >>

Microrobots for the repair of underground utilities 08.01.2019

The UK has invested almost $9 million to develop microscopic robots that will repair and maintain various underground utilities. Leading US universities will take up the development, and if a good result is achieved, perhaps this will become a new word in the repair of urban communications.

Autonomous pipe inspection machines are no longer a novelty, but new versions of these machines differ in their purpose. With their help, it will be possible to solve the problems associated with the repair of pipes, such as: excavation of pits in the middle of the streets and dismantling of asphalt.

It is planned to teach robots to independently repair various damage to pipes, which will first need to be found. For this, special robots have been created that will diagnose pipes. They outwardly resemble beetles and are no more than 1 cm in size and are able to move on any surface, including water. Repair robots are larger, equipment for repairing various pipe damages is attached to them. They are controlled directly through the cable through which they are charged and receive materials for repairs.

It is planned to complete the development of repair robots in 5 years. If the result is positive, the UK will buy them in millions of batches and begin mass repairs of underground utilities.
