Palming the ball, unlike coin palming much more difficult, since the edges of the coin are easier to pinch in the palm of your hand. Palming the ball means hiding it in the palm of your hand from the eyes of the audience so that at the same time the hand turns to the audience with its back side. For manipulation, balls with a diameter of 35 to 40 mm are usually used. We consider 38 mm to be the best size: such a ball is very convenient for manipulation and fits easily in the palm of your hand. Usually used wooden polished balls or made of aluminum with a slight addition of lead. We do not recommend using ping-pong balls, as the hand will develop incorrectly when working with them.

Put the ball in your palm, stretch all your fingers and try to pinch the ball by moving the base of your thumb inside the palm. Try not to bend your fingers while doing this. The ball in this position will be held by the tension of the muscles of the palm (Fig. 16 and 17).

After a series of exercises, you will see that in this position you can hold the ball without moving your fingers, and you can even turn your hand with your hand down without fear that it will fall. To better hold the ball, before manipulating, you should slightly powder your hands with a fine powder of rosin. You must learn to freely control and move your fingers, take other objects with them, while palming the ball in the palm of your hand. It is necessary to learn how to hold the hand at ease, in such a position that the viewer can neither see the ball nor guess that it is in the hand.

It is not possible to list all the ways of passing the balls, there are too many of them. Each artist develops his own techniques for himself. Here we restrict ourselves to showing two methods.

Passing the ball means passing it from the fingertips to the palm, where it is palmed or imperceptibly shuffled from one hand to the other.

Single passaging is used to transfer the ball from the ends of the fingers, where it is visible to the audience, to the position of palming with fingers (Fig. 18), where it is invisible to the public, looking from the back of the hand, and from this position to transfer to the position of palming in the palm ( see Fig. 16).

This is done as follows: they take the ball with the thumb and forefinger and pass it, bring it into the recess formed between the bent middle finger and the thumb. Then the ball is advanced to the base of the ring finger and at the same time the middle and ring fingers are bent. The thumb and forefinger are straightened - and the ball is palmed as shown in fig. 18. Pressing the ball to the palm (Fig. 19), they quickly palm it in it and straighten all the fingers. Do not wiggle the rest of your fingers while performing this pass, otherwise it will be noticeable. The movement of the middle fingers, passing the ball into the palm, should be accompanied by the tension of the muscles of the palm, receiving the ball and squeezing it, while the fingers should immediately be straightened again.

Double passaging has a different purpose and serves to invisible transfer of the ball hidden in the right hand to the left hand or vice versa. Manipulation consists of two parts: palming the ball with the fingers of one hand and palming it with the palm of the other. The palm of the hand that receives the ball is placed on the fingers of the other hand that passes it. Reverse reception - when the fingers of the receiving hand are superimposed on an object palmed in the palm of the giving hand. To perform a pass, you need to put both hands together, finding some convincing excuse for this; you can, for example, slightly adjust the sleeve. The replacement of balls is shown in fig. 20.

With the right hand, the performer takes the ball, which the audience sees sandwiched between the thumb and middle fingers of the left hand. At the same time, the right hand passes another ball, palmed in the palm, and passes it to the left hand, where it is immediately accepted and palmed by the fingers.

By training in manipulations with balls, you can find, in addition to the described methods of passage, your own new tricks.

Artificial leather for touch emulation 15.04.2024

In a modern technology world where distance is becoming increasingly commonplace, maintaining connection and a sense of closeness is important. Recent developments in artificial skin by German scientists from Saarland University represent a new era in virtual interactions. German researchers from Saarland University have developed ultra-thin films that can transmit the sensation of touch over a distance. This cutting-edge technology provides new opportunities for virtual communication, especially for those who find themselves far from their loved ones. The ultra-thin films developed by the researchers, just 50 micrometers thick, can be integrated into textiles and worn like a second skin. These films act as sensors that recognize tactile signals from mom or dad, and as actuators that transmit these movements to the baby. Parents' touch to the fabric activates sensors that react to pressure and deform the ultra-thin film. This ... >>

The attractiveness of caring men 14.04.2024

The stereotype that women prefer "bad boys" has long been widespread. However, recent research conducted by British scientists from Monash University offers a new perspective on this issue. They looked at how women responded to men's emotional responsibility and willingness to help others. The study's findings could change our understanding of what makes men attractive to women. A study conducted by scientists from Monash University leads to new findings about men's attractiveness to women. In the experiment, women were shown photographs of men with brief stories about their behavior in various situations, including their reaction to an encounter with a homeless person. Some of the men ignored the homeless man, while others helped him, such as buying him food. A study found that men who showed empathy and kindness were more attractive to women compared to men who showed empathy and kindness. ... >>
