Focus Description:

On the stage on a small table there is a plate, a sheet of paper and a “magic” wand. The magician shows the plate from both sides - it is empty - and knocks on it with a wand.

Having placed the plate on the table and put down the stick, he takes a sheet of paper and, showing it on both sides, asks one of the spectators to write his last name on the paper. Then he rolls up a pound from this paper, puts it on a stick and shows it to the audience. He wraps the edges of the bag, touches it with a stick and immediately opens the paper at the top, tilting the package over the plate, a whole cascade of flowers pours out of it (Fig. 89, A).

The performer unrolls the whole pound, shows the paper to the audience, rolls it up again without closing its edges, touches the bag with a stick - and flowers again begin to fall from the package, filling the entire plate, falling on the table, and rolling down to the floor. Again he unrolls the pound - and again flowers pour out of it, filling the entire table and covering the floor near the table. After this, putting the package on a wand, the magician goes with it into the audience and gives it to the spectator who wrote the name. He confirms the correctness of his signature.

Folding paper flowers (100 pieces).

Holders (4 pieces).

Focus secret:

The secret lies in the special design of the holders, into which folding flowers are placed (in packs of 25 pieces) and locked with latches. One has only to lightly press the shutter spring and it immediately opens the flowers, which, straightened under the action of the springs, jump out of the holder. The second secret is the skillful placement of flowers in the packages.

In Fig. 89, B shows a pack of folded flowers in a holder, and Figure B shows the holder itself. Its structure does not require much explanation. It is made from thin steel spring wire. A steel string is suitable for this purpose.

Behind the scenes, folding flowers are loaded into holders in advance, 25 each. The four charged holders are placed on the table behind the plate and covered with an edge of paper to hide them from the audience. A stick is placed here. First, they show a plate, tap it with a stick and place it on the table near the edge of the paper covering the flowers. Taking the paper, the illusionist quietly moves the flowers under the cover of the plate. When the pound is rolled up, the magician, stretching out his hand for his wand, quietly takes one packet of flowers and hides it in his palm; he holds the wand in the same hand with slightly bent fingers. Showing the pound empty, he puts the bundle on a stick, and then, taking it out, quietly drops the flowers in the holder into the pound from his hand. At the right moment he presses the holder, it opens, releasing the flowers that fill the package.

When pouring flowers out of a bundle, you need to discreetly hide the holder in them. The next three packs of flowers are loaded into the bag in exactly the same way. You can diversify the way you fill the bag with flowers. For example, they attach a holder to a thread and hang it from the left inner field of the costume, from where they then take it out with their right hand when they turn their left side towards the audience. The package inserted into the holder easily opens if you lightly press it through the paper with the left hand in which it is located.

If executed skillfully, by diversifying the ways of filling the pound, you can pour out a huge amount of flowers and cover even a large table with them.

Artificial leather for touch emulation 15.04.2024

In a modern technology world where distance is becoming increasingly commonplace, maintaining connection and a sense of closeness is important. Recent developments in artificial skin by German scientists from Saarland University represent a new era in virtual interactions. German researchers from Saarland University have developed ultra-thin films that can transmit the sensation of touch over a distance. This cutting-edge technology provides new opportunities for virtual communication, especially for those who find themselves far from their loved ones. The ultra-thin films developed by the researchers, just 50 micrometers thick, can be integrated into textiles and worn like a second skin. These films act as sensors that recognize tactile signals from mom or dad, and as actuators that transmit these movements to the baby. Parents' touch to the fabric activates sensors that react to pressure and deform the ultra-thin film. This ... >>

The attractiveness of caring men 14.04.2024

The stereotype that women prefer "bad boys" has long been widespread. However, recent research conducted by British scientists from Monash University offers a new perspective on this issue. They looked at how women responded to men's emotional responsibility and willingness to help others. The study's findings could change our understanding of what makes men attractive to women. A study conducted by scientists from Monash University leads to new findings about men's attractiveness to women. In the experiment, women were shown photographs of men with brief stories about their behavior in various situations, including their reaction to an encounter with a homeless person. Some of the men ignored the homeless man, while others helped him, such as buying him food. A study found that men who showed empathy and kindness were more attractive to women compared to men who showed empathy and kindness. ... >>

Camera for filming color video in absolute darkness 28.07.2023

Canon introduced the MS-500, equipped with a unique image sensor that is incredibly sensitive to even single photons. This innovative product was the first commercial device in the world with such functionality.

The MS-500 is capable of capturing high quality color video in total darkness using starlight as a backdrop. Thanks to the ability to use interchangeable telephoto lenses, it is able to record video with objects located at a considerable distance, even tens of kilometers.

Priced at $25, the MS-000 is equipped with Canon's exclusive SPAD image sensor, an array of single photon avalanche diodes. The first prototypes of SPAD sensors were presented by the company in 500, and then their mass production began. Each pixel of this sensor is able to respond to single photons at high speed, providing not only high sensitivity to low light, but also the ability to shoot at high speed, approaching the frozen state of the light beam.

However, the MS-500 avoids "freezing" the light. Instead, it is equipped with a 3,2-megapixel SPAD sensor measuring 13,2? 9,9mm lens that is capable of capturing color video in near-total darkness, such as as little as 0,001 lux, which is equivalent to starlight at night.

The MS-500's camera resolution surpasses the standard 1080p by adopting a new architecture. It is noted that it has an exceptional time resolution performance even among SPAD sensors, as well as low noise and sensitivity to the near infrared spectrum. This allows you to accurately determine the distance to the shooting object and its speed.

In addition to the camera, the use of Canon telephoto bayonet lenses expands shooting possibilities, allowing you to capture objects at considerable distances, up to "tens of kilometers". Although this feature is unlikely to be used in a domestic environment, the military and rescuers will probably be able to appreciate its practical value.
