Focus Description:

An artist of an original genre is on stage. He says in a confident voice that he can see through objects and even read the thoughts of any person, because he has studied and mastered the ancient technique of clairvoyance. The assistant brings the spectator onto the stage and asks him to write down on a piece of paper a word that the spectator will mentally convey. The viewer writes the word "car" and puts it in an envelope. The assistant encourages him, placing his hand on his shoulder:

- Don't worry.

Then the spectator approaches the clairvoyant artist and holds the envelope with the written word at some distance. The assistant is silent. The clairvoyant asks to clearly imagine this word; he begins to wriggle, gesticulate, and walk around the viewer; his son-in-law once again glares at the viewer, placing his hand on his shoulder, and finally, in a voice like a sigh, says:

- Automobile.

Amazing! The viewer is perplexed and is asked to do this trick again. As you understand, this time everything ends successfully. And the audience gradually begins to have fun and laugh. What's the matter? Let's leave the explanations for last.

Next, the clairvoyant invites anyone else to test his abilities. The assistant selects a person from the audience and remains there, asking him to write down a word on a piece of paper. The sheet is again packed in an envelope; the viewer approaches the clairvoyant artist and, after a short concentration of attention, the artist names the written word. The hall is shocked!

Focus secret:

First of all, this trick consists of two parts: The first part is humorous and the purpose of which is to demonstrate the ability of clairvoyance for one person called from the audience and to amuse everyone else (preparing the climax). The second part is the key one and is the main trick that you demonstrate to the whole audience. Now about how to complete the first part. To do this you will need a helper and sticky notes. When the viewer writes a word on paper.

Your assistant should simultaneously write down the word on sticky notes in his pocket with a pencil. The viewer's attention is diverted and only from the audience will they be able to see everything that is happening, which is necessary for a successful performance. Then the assistant, while offering encouraging words, sticks this piece of paper on the viewer’s elbow and sends it to the clairvoyant. He, feigning concentration of thought, peels off the label and, reading it, calls out the word. The viewer is delighted, and the audience will have fun from the heart, this is what we wanted. This part of the number can be repeated twice or even three times.

Now the climax. The assistant goes into the auditorium and offers to write down the words. All spectators are carefully watching, will the assistant hang up the tag? And then their attention switches from the assistant to the clothes of the person chosen from the audience. And there's nothing there. Thus, they follow with their gaze the viewer going to the clairvoyant, forgetting about the assistant, who, in turn, with pre-arranged movements of the arms, shoulders and facial expressions, suggests the written word.

For the number to be successful, you need to prepare these signals in advance. In addition, the assistant should try to limit the viewer's choice of words. You can develop a table of signals at your discretion. Adhering to well-known topics: man, nature, industry, science, recreation, etc.

Solidification of bulk substances 30.04.2024

There are quite a few mysteries in the world of science, and one of them is the strange behavior of bulk materials. They may behave like a solid but suddenly turn into a flowing liquid. This phenomenon has attracted the attention of many researchers, and we may finally be getting closer to solving this mystery. Imagine sand in an hourglass. It usually flows freely, but in some cases its particles begin to get stuck, turning from a liquid to a solid. This transition has important implications for many areas, from drug production to construction. Researchers from the USA have attempted to describe this phenomenon and come closer to understanding it. In the study, the scientists conducted simulations in the laboratory using data from bags of polystyrene beads. They found that the vibrations within these sets had specific frequencies, meaning that only certain types of vibrations could travel through the material. Received ... >>

Implanted brain stimulator 30.04.2024

In recent years, scientific research in the field of neurotechnology has made enormous progress, opening new horizons for the treatment of various psychiatric and neurological disorders. One of the significant achievements was the creation of the smallest implanted brain stimulator, presented by a laboratory at Rice University. Called Digitally Programmable Over-brain Therapeutic (DOT), this innovative device promises to revolutionize treatments by providing more autonomy and accessibility to patients. The implant, developed in collaboration with Motif Neurotech and clinicians, introduces an innovative approach to brain stimulation. It is powered through an external transmitter using magnetoelectric power transfer, eliminating the need for wires and large batteries typical of existing technologies. This makes the procedure less invasive and provides more opportunities to improve patients' quality of life. In addition to its use in treatment, resist ... >>

The perception of time depends on what one is looking at 29.04.2024

Research in the field of the psychology of time continues to surprise us with its results. Recent discoveries by scientists from George Mason University (USA) turned out to be quite remarkable: they discovered that what we look at can greatly influence our sense of time. During the experiment, 52 participants took a series of tests, estimating the duration of viewing various images. The results were surprising: the size and detail of the images had a significant impact on the perception of time. Larger, less cluttered scenes created the illusion of time slowing down, while smaller, busier images gave the feeling of time speeding up. Researchers suggest that visual clutter or detail overload can make it difficult to perceive the world around us, which in turn can lead to faster perception of time. Thus, it was shown that our perception of time is closely related to what we look at. Larger and smaller ... >>

Tunguska meteorite - once in a thousand years 14.12.2003

Over the past eight years, from February 1994 to September 2002, American reconnaissance satellites in geostationary orbits and covering almost the entire surface of the Earth with their observation have registered 300 cases of small asteroids invading the earth's atmosphere.

The main task of this system is to detect possible atomic explosions, but, having not found any, the military shared data on flashes similar to explosions with astronomers. Asteroids with a diameter of 50-100 meters crashed into the atmosphere at a speed of several tens of kilometers per second.

New data forced astronomers to reconsider the frequency of collisions of such celestial wanderers with the Earth. It turns out that a celestial body bursts into the atmosphere once a year, capable of releasing energy corresponding to 5 kilotons of TNT, and such cases as the Tunguska catastrophe (an explosion with a force of 10 megatons) can occur only about once every thousand years.

Until now, based on ground-based observations, experts believed that Tunguska-type meteorites could fall once every 200-300 years.
