Focus Description:

The performer, having called one of the spectators onto the stage, asks to borrow 20 meters of rope or rope for the next trick. He is perplexed. Then the illusionist invites the viewer to sit on a chair, and, coming closer, with his right hand from behind the viewer's back (out of his jacket) begins to take out the rope (Fig. 62, A), which lies in circles on the floor of the stage.

Props:

20 meters of rope.

A chair specially adapted for this trick.

A thick wire rod that is inserted into the end of the rope.

The secret of the number is clear from Fig. 62, B. An assistant brings a rope from under the floor behind the viewer's back to the leg of a chair, then under the jacket, where the magician takes it out.

A special chair is made with one prepared leg. It consists of a thin-walled steel tube, no different from the second rear leg. The chair is placed in advance exactly above the hole that is drilled in the floor of the stage. It is also necessary to make an inconspicuous fixture in the floor so that you can accurately place the chair in the right place and prevent it from moving. To do this, the bottom of the tube has a small soldered rim that prevents the leg from slipping into the hole and sliding out of place; two sharp spikes are attached to the bottom of the rim.

To make it convenient to move the rope up through the leg of the chair under the viewer's jacket, a wire rod with a ring at the end is inserted into the middle of the rope. The rod is made of wire 5-7 mm thick. At the other end of the rod there is a small hook that prevents the rod from slipping out of the rope.

When performing a trick, the viewer will naturally want to jump up from his chair and peep how everything happens. To prevent this, you need to put a second assistant near the viewer. The number should be fun, easy and relaxed, only under this condition will it be well received by the audience.

Artificial leather for touch emulation 15.04.2024

In a modern technology world where distance is becoming increasingly commonplace, maintaining connection and a sense of closeness is important. Recent developments in artificial skin by German scientists from Saarland University represent a new era in virtual interactions. German researchers from Saarland University have developed ultra-thin films that can transmit the sensation of touch over a distance. This cutting-edge technology provides new opportunities for virtual communication, especially for those who find themselves far from their loved ones. The ultra-thin films developed by the researchers, just 50 micrometers thick, can be integrated into textiles and worn like a second skin. These films act as sensors that recognize tactile signals from mom or dad, and as actuators that transmit these movements to the baby. Parents' touch to the fabric activates sensors that react to pressure and deform the ultra-thin film. This ... >>

The attractiveness of caring men 14.04.2024

The stereotype that women prefer "bad boys" has long been widespread. However, recent research conducted by British scientists from Monash University offers a new perspective on this issue. They looked at how women responded to men's emotional responsibility and willingness to help others. The study's findings could change our understanding of what makes men attractive to women. A study conducted by scientists from Monash University leads to new findings about men's attractiveness to women. In the experiment, women were shown photographs of men with brief stories about their behavior in various situations, including their reaction to an encounter with a homeless person. Some of the men ignored the homeless man, while others helped him, such as buying him food. A study found that men who showed empathy and kindness were more attractive to women compared to men who showed empathy and kindness. ... >>

40Gbps wireless data transfer 31.05.2013

Scientists from the German Fraunhofer Institute and the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology have set a new world record for wireless data transfer speeds. The researchers were able to establish a wireless connection at a distance of one kilometer with a data transfer rate of 40 Gb / s.

The experiment used a radio channel at a frequency of 240 GHz. The technology was named Millilink. In comparison, the most advanced 802.11ad WiFi technology (WiGig) provides speeds of about 7 Gbps at a distance of much less than a kilometer.

Theoretically, the potential of Millilink technology is much higher. In theory, a data transfer rate of 100 Gb / s and even more is already achievable. The technology will definitely find its application when it is brought to mind. For example, to provide broadband Internet access in rural areas or ultra-fast last mile where there is no fiber optic link.
