EFFECTIVE FOCUSES AND THEIR CLUES Confetti Mystery. Focus Secret Directory / Spectacular tricks and their clues Focus Description: On the table are an empty six-sided box and three glasses filled with confetti of different colors: one is red, the other is blue, the third is yellow. The magician shows the audience first the box, and then all three glasses (one at a time). Following this, he pours confetti from each glass into a box (Fig. 42, A) and mixes with a stick. Viewers see that all three colors are mixed. To prove this, the performer picks up a box, takes out handfuls of confetti and pours it back.
Then the illusionist turns to one of the spectators and asks what color he would like to receive confetti. The viewer calls, for example, red. The illusionist turns the box around, dips his hand into it, and immediately takes out a handful of red confetti. In the same way, the magician asks the second viewer and takes out, say, yellow confetti. "And for your lot," he says to the third viewer, "only the blue ones are left." - And, putting his hand into the box, he takes out a handful of blue confetti. This can be repeated several times, and after each time, if desired, the performer can turn the box. Props: Prepared hexagonal box with glass walls. Confetti of three different varieties. Three simple glass glasses. Focus secret: The secret of this beautiful trick lies in the arrangement of the box. It is hexagonal, about 8-10 cm high; the width of each face is 10-12 cm (Fig. 42, B). It has a transverse partition n made of mirrors. The mirrored side of the plate faces the Y compartment, due to which the mirror reflects three sides, and it seems to the viewers that they see the whole box empty. Behind the rear side of the mirror, two bulkheads are made - walls that form compartments 2, 3, 4. The outer sides of compartments a, b and c are double, made of glass; mixed confetti of three colors is placed between the glasses; because of these confetti, viewers do not see what is inside compartments 2, 3 and 4, and they contain separate confetti: red - in the second, yellow - in the third and blue - in the fourth. The box on the table is placed with side 1 facing the audience, so they see the box as "empty". You need to pour confetti so that no one can see the mirrors. Having poured all three colors, the magician mixes them with a wand, holding the box slightly inclined, otherwise the wand will be reflected in the mirror. Now you can show the box to the audience from all sides: they will see multi-colored confetti on all six sides. You need to take out confetti from compartments 2, 3 and 4 with a pinch - with all five fingers, and when you take it out, immediately clench it into a fist; it will seem to the audience that the performer took out a lot of confetti - a whole handful. Having taken the confetti of the desired color, the magician pours it out of his hands into a glass or onto the floor. Before that, he shows the audience his hands, which, of course, are empty.
